Since Aftershock Retrogames moved its inventory over to Pizza Oven Ive been meaning to get over there and give it the ol college try and I finally managed to get the time to do so! Their pizza is on the greasy side, but good. Their crust is crisp but not hard / overly brittle, nor is it greasy on its own-- its very good. The grease factor brought on by their pepperoni definitely makes for great "bar pizza" and if that is what you are in the mood for -- they hit that mark very well. Im fine with bar pizza but it doesnt make me as happy as less greasy versions, so ultimately Id call it three stars (unless you really have that greasy pizza craving). They did wow me with their breadsticks, however. They are lightly seasoned, crisp on just the slightest outer layer, and soft and hot on the inside. They embody the breadstickian ideal, 9/10, would eat again. The marinara was also not just Ragu poured out of a can, it tasted like they actually put some effort into it and I dont think enough restaurants do that so when I see it -- I appreciate it. Their videogame room is smaller, so were talking maybe 20 machines -- 4 pinball tables, total... ish (I didnt count). One was pricier than the others and sort of set apart / from another company, and they had an inactive one (for a 5th one) near the exit that I didnt pay much attention to. Most of the classic arcade favorites were there -- Burgertime, Mario Bros, Joust, Donkey Kong, etc... and the pinball tables that were in the room were Tales from the Crypt, Dr. Who, and Black Knight 2000 -- the best of the lot from Aftershock, IMO. The other advantage I noticed is that there werent roving gangs of 7-12 year old children. Its in a split bar / pizzeria setting and the pizza side closes down before the bar side does. That means if you want to have an arcade night out with the guys without it being invaded by the cast of Romper Room -- this is the place to do it. So -- the TL;DR, the pizza crust is great, the meats can be a little on the greasy side, the breadsticks are amazing, there is a smallish arcade that packs a good arcade punch since it covers the best of the old school lot. Totally worth the trip to Monona!

Dont get the buffet . It was 1 and the pizza was old. There were 4 pizzas and 3 were pepperoni , not like meat lovers pepperoni but one had green olives and one black and the last was just pep. The same pizzas sat there the whole time we were there. Eventually they bought out the exact same (bacon and cheese?) after i tried that you could really tell how old the other ones must have been. Everyone else there ordered their own pizza off the menu. That must be the way to do it. This was so bad that i ate a salad to fill me up.

One of the girls on the floor was touching the bottom of her shoe, picking her nose, and eating food off of the buffet while working on the floor. One of the other girls that was working on the floor took off of her shoe and dumped all of the contents of it on the front counter!!!! Ewwwwww. When we finally got our food it was the wrong order. We walked out, horrified. If their staff does this on the floor what are they doing to the food in the back where you cant see.

We ate here Saturday night and I let my wallet with my entire paycheck in cash in it. I did not realize I had left till 12 hours later. I called and asked if there was any way that it was still there~ The bartender said yes` even every receipt was still in it! I cant thank our waitress, the owner and the other staff for their honesty, concern and compassion in my poor error! This was exceptional customer service ! What Good people they are !! Great business!!!

Food was good, but the experience was weird. The delivery time I was given was 75-90 minutes. The pizza I received was different than what was listed on the menu, but it was good regardless. Im in a hotel, and I wasnt given any plates, forks, or napkins to eat with, so that was interesting. Also, I wasnt given a receipt from the delivery driver, so now I cant expense it to my company.

I loved the atmosphere; it has the feel of pizza places I went as a kid after softball games etc. However, if you are going for the pizza, go a few doors down to Angelos or pick up pizza to eat at home from Bucks. The pizza at the Pizza Oven had ZERO flavor. My friend who went with me had to add salt to the pizza and she NEVER salts anything.

Used to be an amazing family restaurant, and now that its under new ownership everything has changed. Owner comes up to you reeking of alcohol and making condescending jokes. Super rude and they just lost multiple customers who were lifelong fans. Glad to know theyll be closed soon. Absolute garbage. Wish I could give zero.

Have been eating pizza oven for 15 years, since the move and new owners the food has become inconsistent. Sometime great, sometimes awful. Service now is poor with the kids at counter. We miss Milti and the old gang! We just do not visit nearly as much because you never know what quality you will receive.

Pizza was actually really good. Ordered on a Monday night for pickup, was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. Ended up being 50 minutes with no other customers in front of me. Will try them again because the food was good, but not impressed with the service

If you like a very THIN crust then its good. Have some different varieties for their special pizzas and thats what I usually go with. Also, the lunch buffet, if you are free, is totally worth it and the fresh pizzas rotate throughout the lunch time!

Im new to Monona. I wanted to test out their pizza. I was on hold for 7 minutes and then got hung up on. Tried calling again and was on hold for another 6 minutes. Sadly I didnt even get to try their pizza because their customer service was so bad.

The Pizza Oven, a Monona, Wisconsin gem that just so happens to serve the best pizza I have ever eaten. Its a bold statement, but I would also like to point out that Ive eaten A LOT of damn pizza in my life.

Good pizza and salad. Im not a fan of Coke products ao a star gets lost for that, and the bar was missing my top choices for drinks as well. Overall a great place for a family and they have video games!!

For thin crust it was pretty good and ate the whole thing, service/cleanliness I think they could step it up though, I can see some of the complaints from the other reviews.Would give it another try.
