Myself and four others dined in this evening (Sunday 5/28) around 7:00pm and spent about two hours there on a slow night (empty tables & empty sections). If you are satisfied with a place that serves great food (if they have all of the ingredients) but clearly lacks a manager to successfully handle inventory/ordering and to drive the speed and quality of the customer service - this is the place. To start, when my Aunt asked for a table for 5, we were told it would be a 20 minute wait for a table. We could see an entirely empty section of 2-4 person tables next to a single full 8 person table that appeared to be close to finishing up. So my Aunt asked why they couldnt push two tables together to fit all 5 of us right away? The hostess sighed and remarked "I guess Ill have to go do that then..." and went off to push the tables together. When ordering drinks, my Aunt was disappointed there were no sangrias - but thats truly understandable in a bar/restaurant like this! The issue arose when my husband was informed the bar was out of bitters for the Old Fashioned he had ordered several minutes earlier (~5 minutes). Disappointing, but again - not the end of the world. The arrival of drinks to our table took quite a while - but a few minutes after completing our full drink order (our final guest arrived a bit late) we were given ice water. Several more minutes later, our drinks did finally arrive. We ordered an appetizer without issue and spent the next 15 minutes chatting at the table. After a sizable amount of time waiting for our order to be taken, our waiter finally arrived back to the table to take them. We went through the table and ordered 3 burgers, a kids meal, and a chicken avocado sandwich (which was for me). After I ordered, my Aunt asked to add avocado to her burger and was informed that they were out of avocado. The waiter had already closed his notebook when I asked how they would make my chicken avocado sandwich without avocado. He then realized the error and asked for a substitute (I got the wings, but my heart was set on the sandwich and the wings didnt come with a side). As I said when I started this post - the food itself was excellent. We shared an order of cheese curds (large curds served with two ranch dressings - enough for four adults to have two each and one child to have one) and they were incredible. My Aunt who had been to the restaurant before indulged in the cheese curds enthusiastically despite her lactose intolerance (sorry if thats TMI). However, the amount of time waiting for the appetizer to arrive and then again for the entrees was quite a while. We started eating our meal just after 8:00 after having arrived and been seated at about 6:50. I would love to give this place another shot in a few months in hopes that either management training is provided or replaced to turn the issues I described above around. On a busy night it would be understandable to wait an hour for a meal with several ingredients out of stock, but the restaurant was at maybe 65% capacity and was well-staffed (I truthfully think I saw a single server for each table in our area unless seating is not assigned a server by zones). Heres to hoping they can turn things around because it would be a shame to not experience their delightful food again!! Plus I really want that chicken avocado sandwich...

I was anticipating my first visit to be extra terrific! Let me first say I have been to many burger joints and I mean many! I would first tell you that put waitress Ashley was very good at her job! She had great customer service and was very attentive! As for other things the place was clean dining area and outside. The Menus were grimey like they needed to be wiped down because they never have been. The mens bathroom had a plugged urinal and was about to over fill. They had pubic hair all over them like they were not cleaned in a while. The sinks were dirty and one was full of paper towel. Routine cleaning would fix this. Lets start with the cheese curds, they were awesome and huge! Super cheesy and crunchy best I ever had! My sons Hangover Burger was totally on point in all aspects! My other sons kid burger bites were smaller than his orange slices. They were smaller than a slider. So much bun for a mini mini slice of meat, but well cooked. My daughters Portobello burger was basically the top of a Portobello mushroom sliced off. It was not the whole cap. She asked to add avocado and it wasnt and she asked for no onions but there were onions. It was not my first rodeo with a Portobello in my life or at a restaurant. My pork belly burger was cooked great! Everything had great flavor and was cooked well but my pork belly slices were all on one side of the burger. The pineapple slices were super small and only at the back of the burger. My wifes bacon was not in the normal criss cross but only striped down the middle. I wasnt going to complain because I figured we got there an hour before close so people were tired plus flavor was still great! When my wife asked to talk to the manager because of the Portobello and I began to explain to the manager my issues he began to make excuses. He tried saying the Portobello is a full Portobello and that I didnt know what I was talking about because I was not in the restaurant buisness only a reviewer. He said I am only hurting people with reviews. I tried to get his name but he did not have a name tag. I began to speak in that soft quiet tone like I was un-intelligent and maybe slow. It was insulting. I tried to tell him the food tastes great but the Portobello was not proportion to the meat patty size nor was it a full Portobello cap. That I was not asking for money off but just an understanding. He continued to say I dont know what Im talking about but in a polite demeaning manner. In frustration I walked out. My wife stayed. He ended up trying to satisfy us by taking some money off the bill but that was not what I was looking for. I wanted him to just listen, but he had his defense before I finished my sentence. Anyway the food was cooked to perfection and tasted great. I may try again in the future at a better hour but for now, Beneleux, Oscars and Sobelmans will be my burger spots. Especially since they are actually in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Burger Company has a nice big, bright, inviting atmosphere without being overly loud or obnoxious. It manages to walk the line between sports bar and family-friendly restaurant fairly well. . When we went it was not too crowded and I was pleased to find the service was quick and attentive. We visited with our infant in a car carrier and the staff didnt hesitate at all in accommodating us. The food was excellent. We ordered the oversize cheese curds as an appetizer. They are unbelievably good, and are actually quite a good value - I think I would have been happy to get about half as many as we received for the price paid. Really impressive. As for their namesake burgers, they offer a good mix of standard burger fare and more "creative" options. Too many places focus on the burger toppings and end up serving meals on a bun that sort of forget that the burger itself should still be the star of the show. I had the hangover burger, which was served with blueberry jam, a fried egg and on blueberry bread. It was a great combo that I would not have thought of on my own, and all the extra toppings were subtle enough that I could still taste the beef. My wife ordered a more standard burger, which was very well constructed and also tasted great. The beef is clean and fresh, and you can tell the rest of their ingredients are of good quality. If youre really feeling adventurous they offer a 2lb burger challenge. Ive done this in the past at another Milwaukee Burger Company location. I cant say I would recommend attempting it, but its a fun thing to say youve done and the plus side is that the burgers are delicious enough that you dont feel too awful after completing it. Overall I would definitely come back here. Its the rare "gourmet" burger place in Milwaukee that hasnt forgotten what it is to make a good basic burger in their pursuit of most creative burger. Recommended.
