It was an overall okay experience. I went there with 12 others for my Homecoming this year. When my friend and I walked in, I thought the host was going to walk us to our table, as most other restaurants do, but she just pointed to the back and told us some of our friends were already there. On my way there, I almost hit my head on a slanted beam (the ones that are suppose to help hold the roof up). It wasnt just my clumsiness, anyone about 5 5" who didnt look up in time could easily hit their head. I thought that was hazardous.. They told us we should wait a while to give everyone a chance to get there so we could all order at the same time.. but I was hungry, and that didnt make me very happy. Even after everyone got there, it was like 20-30 minutes later that the waitress came to take our orders. And the food took even longer if not the same amount of time.. The food was good though, the prices werent bad. However, I didnt finish my chicken burger and I wanted to get a box. NO ONE came to ask us how it was, or if we wanted more, or anything. I had finished my glass of water and sat there for another 20 minutes for the waitress to pass by to ask for more. The waitress was serving customers right next to our tables, and we would call to her, several times, and she still wouldnt come over. I just wanted a box, and some more water. And theres not very many parking spaces.. my friend had to park 3 streets down. It was a little busy, it being a Saturday night and all, but in my opinion, that should not be an excuse. Oh, and not to mention the bathrooms, which were small with only three stalls, and kinda dirty. There can defiantly be some improvements.

Years ago I went to the Harmon Brewery and had their beer and a sandwich and loved it. Since then I have been recommending this place to the many new coworkers that move to this city. About two weeks ago, I revisited the Harmon. The beer, as I remembered, was amazing. I love having something crafted so well and crafted locally. The appetizer was good, although it looked like something that went from freezer to fryer. The steak, on the other hand, was so disappointing. I can honestly say it was the worst steak I have ever had at non-franchise restaurant. So bland, it lacked seasoning. The waiter also told me the seasonal vegetables was "some kind of mix with carrots and cucumbers". Those cucumbers turned out to be zucchini. I should have taken the waiters lack of commitment to the restaurant as a bad sign. Also, the waiter could not tell me what kind of fish was in the fish tacos and he described the sauce as "some kind of wet stuff". The Harmon will stay in business a long time. They have great beer and they are next door to a college campus in a beautiful part of Tacoma. Those college kids will keep them afloat. I am thinking the management sees the money rolling in and lost their passion for making good food. I will wait a few years before I return.

The beer at the Harmon is my overall favorite. Their IPA is amazing and easily compares, if not rates higher in my book, to Stones IPA. The food, you have your pick of any type of pub grub you could want and then some. My recommendations are either the brewers chicken sandwich or the fish tacos. The staff are some of the best. Ive had horrendous experiences at some of the classiest restaurants, but at the Harmon they always take care of me. If ever I had to mention something to the waitress about my food the manager came over, took care of it, and make it right. I know places slip up, its just the nature of things, but how they handle fixing the issue is what impresses me. They truly want my service and value me as a customer. Class act guys!

First time trying this place. Came down from Seattle to see some museums and went for lunch. I thought the burger would be a good bet. Boy, was I wrong. It tasted like sawdust, only drier. I dont think they could have cooked it any more than they did. The bun was cool, tomato mushy and the pickle was one of those that mushed in your mouth when you ate it. To make things worse, the fries were on the cool side of warm and they had no flavor. Kids pizza tasted bad but my kid ate half. I ate some of his bagged carrots, which were good. I think they were good because they cam pre-packaged. His tater- tots were good. Only reason they got one star is because the waitress was nice. We will never be back. Dont waste you time or money.

We went here on a business lunch. I have to say it was quite disappointing. 2 people had the meatloaf which I was told had no real flavor. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with guacomole, but it tasted a little off. The fries were spectacular, so that was nice. Most of our party ordered hot chocolate since it was freezing outside and were told it would take a while to make. Not a problem. Well when we got it, I was surprised why it would take a while considering it was just a powdered mix with hot water. Still not a big deal except we all had to stir it to make it complete. I think maybe the stirring part got forgotten. Our waitress was nice and very attentive. Overall, not the best place Ive ever been to for lunch.

Went here for prom dinner, I heard good things about the restaurant so we figured wed try it out. When our server brought our drinks out, my friends strawberry lemonade had a bug floating at the top, gross right? But our server got her a new one and everything was okay. The food was good but it took a really long time, granted they were pretty busy. I ended up taking half of my burger home, and while eating the rest at home I saw a small hair sticking out of the bottom of my bun so I pulled it out and it ended up being a pretty long blonde hair that was not mine. I was so grossed out, I never leave reviews and had heard a lot of good things about this place but I was dissapointed.

If you like good beer and friendly service this is the place. The brewmaster is not afraid to experiment with his seasonals and his IPA is allways on tap. I know it may sound strange but if they have the Vanilla Porter order a scoop of vanilla ice cream and make a float for desert. For the uneducated person that stated the Harmon beleives all beer should be served "warm" they do not serve any beers that should be ice cold like Lager or pilsner. They serve only the ales that they make and they are served at the temperature their respected brewmaster wishes them to be served. If you want your ales iced you obviously no nothing about beer.

Food was good. I was with a group of 4 other guys. 4 guys loved the steak and said it was fantastic. They also enjoyed the on tap beer and sounded like morons as they tried reviewing them like a beer connoisseur. I was the odd ball and got Salamon Penne. It was good, not fantastic. Price wise, the penne was $14. The steaks were started at $15 from what I saw. It was a good amount of food to fill you up. Also, they have some very attractive waitresses who are friendly. Our service was great up until the end, seemed to take ages to bring us our checks. Overall, I would go back and try it out again.
