A pub sitting in the middle of downtown Balllard. Its not the only one but it is certainly a welcome sight when you consider it is surrounded by what amounts to a bunch of almost identical cocktaik bars/gastropubs. Overall I like McLeods but it certainly isnt a place i would go out of my way for. I think the best thing they have going for them is a rooed off patio area right in front of the bar if you want to have a drinm while getting some fresh air. Other that thag its pretty much just your run on the mill pub.

The fish quality was good, but the chips were lukewarm, soft, and not externally crispy at all. Breading on the fish was a little mushy. Tartar sauce was ok but featured some odd ingredients... We couldnt figure it out. There was also included some mashed substance made of green peas... It was ok too, but rather flavorless. I will not be eating here again, but the bar is nice and I would definitely come by for a drink. They seem to have some high quality scotch.

Im really glad I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. I was searching for a good Scottish pub for a while and thought Id give it a try. Their food is divine, and surprisingly authentic. The shepherds pie is amazing, and bangers and mash, havent tried the fish and chips yet but Im eager to go back and try them. The staff is incredible, super knowledgeable and very friendly.

This is our go-to place for starting a night of celebrating in Ballard. A flight of scotch and a couple of Belhaven on draught, split an order of fish and chips, another Belhaven. Now youre ready to stroll Ballard Ave with a warm glow in your belly. Great staff and a fine selection of scotch. All served up in a beauty of a bar. The attached chip shop is quite tasty as well.

Visiting from Minneapolis, this place was heaven sent....I was there Oct 2013 and watched the breaking bad finale on my laptop on the balcony in one of the booths... It took me 3 hours to watch the hour long finale, I was enjoying myself so much..... Thanks again for a great memory!!!

Not a huge place, but had awesome stuff to do like foosball and ring toss. This is probably one of my favorite bars in Ballard. They have tons of scotch and can make you whatever mixed drink you want. Then walk toward Kings or Shelter when you want to party a bit harder!

The Shepherds Pie with lamb was great! My wife is, at times tough to impress and she loved the fish and chips! The Irish Stout was like Guinness, only slightly lighter and more flavorful. They have am amazing selection off scotches, and really informative flights.

Quirky building and tons of whiskies available! There are few tables, so it gets packed quickly on weekends. There is a restaurant next door with whom they are associated. We grabbed some food and checked back occasionally until we found a good spot in the bar

Friendly staff and surprisingly speedy service given how busy it was. Their alcohol selection is good, especially if youre a whiskey or bourbon drinker. I didnt order food but the table next to us got the fish and chips and they looked unbelievable!

Love it for the amazing scotch whisky selection, but would love it even more if they had some vegan food other than mushy peas, as tasty as they are — vegan haggis is delicious — surprisingly easy to find in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Scotland!

Fun place, feels authentic, amazingly vast whiskey list. The photos on the wall were amusing to see which actors are from scottland. The waitress took the time to listen and make recommendations. We will be back!
