We were close to the Northgate mall and i had been to this place before with a decent experience, so we decided to head here for lunch. We first ordered pakoras as appetizers which came with lettuce dressings. The pakoras were fine but after we finished them we noticed there was a green insect in the dressings. We told the waiter and he promptly took away the food called the manager. The manager instead of apologizing tried to question us about our findings. After explaining to him, he mentioned that it could be from the wine bottle we ordered. Havent heard that story before, but we were hungry and decided ignore to continue. We ordered chicken biriyani among other things for the main course. In the midst of eating my friend noticed that there was a dead fly in the salad that came with the biriyani. We called the waiter again. He agreed that it was disgusting and again called the manager. This time a different person came to us I assume it was a senior manager. Again, Instead of apologizing about it, he tried to reason us with silly excuses. He mentioned that it is summer and these things do happen. Really?? We asked to take away the remaining food as were too disgusted to eat. The waiter took away the food and brought the bill. They billed us for everything except the pakoras and biriyani even though we couldnt finish our lunch. This really showed that the dont value their customers. I would suggest to skip this place if bugs in your food is not your thing.

I dont claim to know how authentic Indian food tastes, but I know what I crave when I hear or think of Indian food! Saffron Grill is where I just had my birthday dinner. Its also where my colleagues and I meet after work for happy hour. This is where I would take my dates to a nice dinner... Must order the garlic naan- trust me when I say dont order 2 until you see the generous size of each order. I always alternate between the butter chicken and the chicken tikka masala. Both always taste as expected (delicious) and are amazing for dipping the [2nd order of] garlic naan into. I have seen a review somewhere calling the owner a thief- this disgusts me. Although not the most personable gentleman, the owner has always treated me in a genuinely kind manner and although I am a picky (somewhat needy) customer I have never left feeling cheated or neglected. If you want a bargain price, check their website for a coupon. Dont try to use a gift card you bought on Craigslist and pretend to be the victim. Final thought- be careful with the hot chai tea. Hear my warning: you wont be able to stop after the first cup! Its addicting! Luckily refills are free so no need to panic. Eat and be merry. (I apologize for any typos; review posted from a cell phone.)

Sent this message/review but no response - dont think they are bothered about feedback. I ordered takeaway from you last week on high recommendation. However I was very disappointed with some dishes, mostly the fish and chicken. The chicken was supposed to be chilli chicken with ginger and spices, but it was just an oily dish with peppers and hardly any flavour, hardly any chilli. The fish was terrible! $10 for 4 tiny pieces of dry salty, oily fish. Rip off. Not to mention a very sad looking salad served with the fish with greasy leaves! The meat in the keema naan - I dont know what it was made of, but it was very strange looking - pale and rubbery in texture.. Can you tell me what that was? I have never had a keema naan that looks like that. It seems that your vegetarian Indian dishes arent bad but you fail miserably at meat dishes. And why do you have so many cuisines?? Concentrate on one or two at the most! I spent $85 on my order and was really looking forward to a great Indian meal after seeing your reviews and being recommended by a friend. But I was sorely disappointed. If youre a meat lover and want good Indian meat dishes dont bother coming here.

It was my fiance and Is first time at an Indian cuisine. We ordered the vegetable cutlets for an appetizer. They were fried on the outside, which I am not a fan of fried food- but it was quite tasty and comforting. Very filling for two people. I ordered the butter specialty with paneer- Very rich and flavorful, a tad strange to my throat, though- but I think its because Im not used to in-organic foods. It paired very well with the basmati rice they served with it. My love ordered the lamb kabob under the Mediterranean specialties- He thought it was very good. The lamb was tender and cooked with just enough flavor. The service was perfect- my love and I were able to chat without being interrupted constantly. At the end, the owner will give you a sample of desert (not sure if always)...which I find generous and hospitable. Overall, the food reminded me of a comforting Christmas gathering with family. Lovely, lovely atmosphere. A LOT of beer and wine to choose from :)

The food here was delicious! This would have to be one of my top 3 favorite Indian Restaurants in the Seattle area. I got the Mango Curry with chicken and the chicken was very moist, and the mango brought in a little sweetness to the curry which was a nice touch to round it off. My fiancé got the butter chicken, and she said she enjoyed it and would probably rate this in her top 3 places for the best Butter Chicken. We also ordered the garlic and paneer Naan which was huge and very filling! We were only able to finish a little more than half of them. Not only was the food great, but their service was on point! They were quick to serve us, and helpful with any questions we had. They constantly refilled our waters were very friendly. Ajmal was our server, and he did a great job of serving us.

I love this place. We have ordered out a few times (and will make it a point to dine in next time) and each time the place is packed but the waitstaff is courteous and polite and make you feel like you are the only one there. Tonight was no different, but a super busy server took her time to ask if I wanted some chai while I waited for our order. Its little things like that that take places from good to great and make me a frequent visitor. The minute I put my cup down another server asked if I was finished and if they could get it out of my way. Again, in the middle of a rush with a crowded waiting area. Food is amazing. You cant go wrong with any of their curry, and I LOVE the chicken tikka! My husband is a Naan Fan and loves the chicken Naan. Definitely a fav in my book all around.

Had one of the worst dining experiences of my life there. Our server literally disappeared for 30 minutes. My GF and I sat around just waiting for him to return and give us our check. Other servers actually took pity on us and bussed our table for us. Then he finally came back 5 minutes after that and literally just said "I had to do something." Earlier, he had brought us the wrong appetizer. He did correct that, but he charged us for both of them. When I told him he charged us for both, he literally couldnt figure out how to take it out of the computer, so he handed me a $5 and said that would cover it. It would have, except the entree was $5, and he didnt account for tax. Only time Ive ever left a $0 tip. The food was adequate though.
