We waited 18 months to go to Pair. We tried about a year ago before our anniversary dinner and were shut out by their no reservation policy. Fine, I can deal with that...so we schlubbed from Woodinville in heavy traffic to be certain wed be there when they opened. The food was OK - we ordered the entire happy hour menu - the small plate idea is great, though some of the items were either heavily salted or just not the right temperature. The "soup" dipper tasted like they opened a can of Campbells and forgot to add the water. The wine, well, was my first indication that the night wasnt going to be what I expected. I ordered one vintage and they brought another. This is a pretty big deal for me. They didnt know it until I mentioned it and then offered no discount on the inferior year. I can expect this at a chain, but not a small place that should know better. I ordered the steak for the main...overcooked to medium-WELL and quite tough. Served with the same fries as the starters, drowning in the salty sauce, and didnt seem to be a good value at all. My husband found is pasta to be rubbery, but OK. He did enjoy his pork. We had our very well-behaved 5 year old in tow and thank the stars we packed in his dinner AND drink. The only option for him was soda (we dont do that) or cranberry juice - which was likely a sugar mixture for the cocktails. The menu didnt offer much by the way of kid-alternative and oddly, the waitstaff seemed to ignor him completely. Hes a cool kid...and likes to ask for his own water. There was clearly some sort of mix-up in the kitchen and they kept trying to bring us more plates of things we didnt order. Between this awkwardness, the food just not hitting the mark and the wrong wine, I have to give this a big dislike. It was also a billion degrees in there with no air circulation. On the purely catty side, our waitress stank of cigarette smoke. We had walked past her chain smoking in her car before the shift and it was pretty gross. Overall, there wasnt anything that stood out as horribly bad but the cascade of minor errors just disappoints.

Med? Not. Our family of four went early on a Tuesday to this little *French*-lette of a neighborhood restaurant and the front door was open and it was fresh and cheery and not at all crowded and we saw the menu was okay like order a "Pair" of dishes, [not so] small plates, and the menu looked okay: "a little trendo restaurant," so we ordered eight dishes between us and then the food started arriving and we all went: "OH. MY. GAWD!"

This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. The cohesive atmosphere is charming and transportive, the food full of rich, layered flavor, and the service very professional and warm. On my recent visit I enjoyed a Ricotta Cheese Tart with Spiced Rhubarb Compote, and was surprised that it married most of my favorite dessert words at once: brûlée, cheesecake, and rhubarb. Delicious.

We came here from a friends recommendation and it did not a disappoint! I had a great Bordeaux, the butter lettuce salad, chicken and crab cakes. Everything was delicious. Simple flavors and meat cooked perfectly tender. We will definitely be coming back for the crème brulee which we were too full to order the first time.

Lovely venue and pleasant service. The food was tasteless and pricey. The trout had no flavor, the grilled squid salad dull, with a few small tentacles, and the greens overcooked. Cant understand why the reviews are so great. Was it the chefs night off?

Great tapas style dishes with a lot of variety in style and texture. Everything was great. The pears were particularly good. Note that, despite the name, theres no indication they actually pair wines for you.

Cozy, comfortable, creative. Its a little neighborhood bistro. The service is a good balance of attentiveness and leaving a table to their privacy. The preparation is simple and expert.

Pair is such an amazing small neighborhood restaurant with a very nice but casual French vibe. Just get one of everything with a group of four and Shamir family style. You cant lose.

Very pleasant, small, intimate spot with good food. Only downside is that the seating may be a bit uncomfortable, and the service a little casual.

Tasty food, but small portions make it more difficult to get full and stay within budget.
