This is my favorite coffee shop in Seattle. I dont even live in Greenwood anymore, and I still stop by Makeda. We buy drinks and the Na Pali whole beans. The staff is always friendly, and so are the other customers. Downside=theyve been out of chocolate twice and ice once in the times Ive been there :(

I discovered this funky, small, out of the way coffee shop because my writers support group met here during the month of November 2016 during NaNoWriMo . Small, cozy. Comfortable sofa. There is a small cafe dog in residence!

Some of the very best coffee in town served in an amazingly friendly neighborhood coffee shop. Dog friendly (as long as your dog is friendly) and also one of the places to find the delicious Rooftop Brewing beer.

While the coffee is good, the shop it self is... borderline filthy. Sitting at the counter I could always see a huge pile of what looked like garbage, stacked waist high completely blocking the back entrance.

My favorite neighborhood coffee shop - great service, great conversations w/ other patrons, cute dogs to pet, family friendly, unpretentious, rarely see an annoying hipster and never a snotty barista!

Unusually delicious "ordinary" soy milk latte. Friendly, some tables and benches. Very very intimate neighborhood feel to it. It will be my go-to place for coffee when I am in Seattle.

The people here are kind, caring and experts at making coffee. If you want a place where you can relax, listen to music, and grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine -- its Makeda.

Some of the most amazing coffee I have put in my mouth. I walked in on a whim - so pleasantly surprised. The coffee is bold with a smooth, mellow finish. Absolutely relish!

Dog friendly, great coffee, not a lot of space to sit with more than 2 people. Great vibes and natural lighting, just not good for groups.

Maybe not the best hang out coffee shop, but they certainly pull some of the best shots in Seattle and sell some very tasty beans.

Nice, community oriented coffee shop. The people were friendly, the coffee was quite good. Definitely worth returning to.

Really nice coffee. Suitably funky atmosphere, with a sweet barista at 9 on a Sunday night. Music not objectionable.

This is neighborhood coffee at its best. If Cheers were a coffee shop, it would be Makeda. Excellent coffee as well.
