I came here for dinner, and granted I have no other experience with other Indian restaurants in Seattle, I would say this one was pretty good. We ordered vegetable samosas, tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, and regular naan. What we ordered were safe bets, since it was our first time here. The vegetable samosas were okay. The naan was so good. Nice and tender. But, when is naan, not good? The tandoori chicken was crisp on the outside, and the meat still had a good juice to it. I wasnt that blown away by the chicken tikka masala, but nothing wrong with it by any means. I would say the tandoori chicken was my favorite. The service was interesting -- Im not a big fan of when a server constantly comes over to fill my glass with water. I mean, thats fine, because I love water, but its better if the rounds of refills are a little more tapered. The restaurant itself is in okay condition. Its not a high-end restaurant, nor is it a hole in the wall exactly. If I had to choose, I would say I would come back here to try out some more of their dishes.

Wow..... It is hard to get authentic food from Central Asia in the US..... And the food here is wonderful. A blend of spices that will take you to another place. After traveling the world, it is hard to find something close to what you get "in country".... Kastoori Grill gets the job done. The food is great, and all the people working at Kastoori Grill are from the region. The atmosphere also offers a feel of being in country.... The tile, lighting, general layout is like what you would find overseas. We had four different dishes, they were excellent. We traveled to Seattle from Texas to visit family members that were injured and spending time at Harborview.... On our next visit to Seattle, we will be back at Kastoori Grill. Excellent!!!!!!!

I went against the common advice of trying the lunch buffet today while in town for my job. I was seated promptly and ordered lamb vindaloo, some naan bread, and a drink. Everything came out very quickly considering I ordered a la carte. The vindaloo was excellent and not greasy at all. Nicely spicy with that rich red color I would expect from a vindaloo curry. The naan was fresh and hot as I tore into it. It tend to eat my curries with pieces of naan in kind of a grab and scoop and Ive definitely been looked at oddly in some restaurants. In this place they didnt give it a second thought. It was a great lunch for an out of towner. If I were to come back to town I would probably come back to try something else.

My wife and I traveled to Seattle a few weeks ago for the first time. We had never been there before and really didnt know where to go or what to do. We went to Pikes Market but got there late so many of the shops had already closed up. As we walked down the street we smelled something amazing and found it was coming from this little restaurant. I have a love for Indian food so I was really excited! My wife doesnt care for Indian food as much but after she tasted the butter chicken she changed her mind! The wait staff was attentive, friendly and professional. I would easily recommend people trying this place out for sure.

I am writing this while I am at the restaurant . This is my second visit and I am again disparaged . I ordered gobi munchrian dry and mushroom naan , and specifically said that I want it spicy and the naan to be crisp . But I get sweet and bland and uncooked naan , and I am still craving for some some decent food . Then I ordered veg momo , hoping being a Nepali restaurant at least the momo will be good . But again momo is bland and the it is sticking in my teeth as if it was kept frozen and after steaming it is still uncooked . So the end story is that , it made my Saturday evening a disaster .

Most of the buffet items are stale and the staff are managing by pouring lots of water in all the items. Thats why you will see every item as diluted. This is not an actual Indian buffet. Naans are served to the table and I thought they would be good but its actually under cooked. Desert: Gulab Jamun is the worst taste as they added cinnamon to it. Its the worst taste. But the management is doing all this just to attract Americans with no spices no taste, adding cinnamon. Never again to this place. If you really want to have tasty Indian food, just skip this place.

I am in love with Kastoori Grill. Two weeks ago I came for dinner here and the food was so delicious and the service was so great. Last week I was downtown again in the Pike Place area, and saw their sign for their lunch buffet...it was unbelievable! Not your typical "buffet", but fresh and with so many options...including fresh nann served to your table. Tonight, on a Saturday, I was once again in the area, and knew exactly where dinner would be. Their food is so delicious, their service is great and I am so happy to have found Kastoori Grill...a hidden treasure.

there fairly regularly. Ordered fried momos , and picked them up on way to work. Got to work ready to spoil myself and whatever lucky coworkers. Opened it up, a HAIR !!! OK no big deal get a knew order. I called no time to go back to get a new order or cash back. I tell the person on the phone thats I would like to have a replacement. He says OK OK rushing me and himself and hangs up. Didnt get to tell I wanted to get them another time... Havent been back since. They see $$$s, not a human being is the impression I was left with.

Went because of rave reviews.absolutely horrible food - buffet had a handful of items - the curries were seriously tasteless, greasy and overcooked, rice seemed lumpy and old and service was slow. My friend suffered a stomach upset and I could hardly eat much. BTW, Tibetan/Nepalese cuisine is not indian cuisine. Visitors please be aware. They are very different nationalties and styles, and should not pass off one for the other. Walk down into pike place and try something there, you will be way better off.

We had an average experience at Kasturi. The momos were good, but the Nehari was extremely spicy, despite we requesting a non spicy version. The Dahi "Bhada" (thats how they spell it) had a very sour yogurt (topped with tangy tamarind sauce) and wasnt enjoyable. There seemed to be very poor coordination between the waiters and the cooks. We were presented with our bill even before we got our desert! Overall, I think this should be a good place for a buffet, but not so good for an ala-carte meal.

This was definitely the best Indian lunch buffet I have been to by a long shot. (Their dinner menu is also great, but you cant miss the lunch buffet!) The selection is probably double what you see at most Indian buffets, and the selection of vegetarian dishes is fantastic too. Everything was delicious as well. It definitely has a bit of a hole in the wall vibe, but in a really charming way, and the prices are very reasonable to boot. Also the mango ice cream is amazing. Try it for sure.
