Located in the old Carnegie Library building in Ballard. They have a good selection of beers and ciders, many from local breweries. Good is pub grub, with an emphasis on Australia and New Zealand items like meat pies and avocado toast (yes, thats common there, and not a hipster invention - despite what the media would like you to think). No AC, which isnt really a problem up here. As is appropriate, they also show plenty of rugby, Aussie rules football, and cricket here; this is probably the best place in Seattle to view those sports. If you come here with an understanding that its not upscale and can adjust to the AUS/NZ atmosphere youll be fine.

Ive been a couple times and had fun but overall not terribly impressed... UNTIL... I went on a Thursday, which is when they have their taco night. BEST TACO I have ever had. And I know my way around a taco. I know it sounds weird, tacos at an Aussie place, but TRUST ME on this one. Please go eat a taco. They put this house made chipotle sour cream on it and is amazing. They only give you one tortilla instead of 2 though so you may want to request an extra because they pile it on. Cant wait for Thursday to come around again!

This is SUCH a great place to have a couple beers. Its perfectly dingy for a pub and the staff are very nice. It is the kind of place you want to become a "patron". The prices for drinks are respectable. I didnt have food, but I watched a couple lamb sliders walk by that looked incredible. They have a couple pool tables and a great outdoor patio! Unlike most bar patios, this one wraps around to the front on Market St, so it is prime in the summer time for having a few beers in the sun while indulging in some people watching.

First walked in the door of this pub over 5 years ago, and continue to return! I lived in Tacoma at the time and fell head over heels for this place and the people that make it so amazing. I wound up moving to North Seattle, just to be closer to this unique community of people. If you are looking for the true sense of community found in a traditional pub culture then this is the place for you! If, however, youre looking for a pretentious or pandering venue, keep on looking...

Last thing I remember was eating Chicken Parm. The perfect layering of marinara sauce on cheese on meat on breaded meat on french fries caused an initial blackout in that I am unable to recollect what happened to the meal. Now I am in the hospital for what is being described as Food-Induced Narcolepsy as I have been slipping in and out of consciousness for the past 24 hours. 10/10 would eat again.

Super fun vibes in here. Good selection of beer and food and great variety of seating. The place is HUGE. The outdoor patio is fantastic on a sunny day; perfect for people watching on Market St. There are also two rooms near the front with large windows and the bar at the back of the floor. Oh, and there was a real Australian person working there, which is always fun.

Back in 2012 this place became the Kangaroo and Kiwi pub, which is an "aussie themed" "sports bar", but compared to other establishments in either of those categories it just feels like a really cool converted library where you can drink and shoot pool - because thats what it is! If youre on a haunt around Ballard, this pub should be on the list of your stops.

This pub is an oasis for all people with some attachment to Australian / Kiwi culture and sports but is a great place for all types of people. It also has an exceptional vibe and atmosphere complimented by friendly "on the ball" staff. There are always interesting people to meet from around the world and a ton of interesting memorabilia all over.

A really fun place. Lots of attractive people milling around dancing and drinking. Plenty of TVs if theres a sports event youre interested in seeing. Three distinct rooms separate the masses pretty well and gives off a bar-in-a-house vibe. This used to be a fine dining restaurant, so its funny to think about how it has changed since those days.

Great food and really cool atmosphere inside an old library. We were playing darts and one of them broke (metal tip). When I asked the owner for a new dart he said he was out but would be right back. About 10 minutes later he came back with new darts that he ran out and bought just for us. Would definitely recommend if in the Ballard area!

Its really hard for me to respect any place that serves chicken wings (let alone drumsticks) that are literally smaller than my thumb. Service at the bar on a slow day was impersonal and sub par. Atmosphere was quite unremarkable. One star based upon the laughable wings alone, there are much better places in town to spend your money at.

A classic. Its housed in the old carnegie library, which means this bar has some serious character. Their chook sandwich is delicious, as is the waltzing matilda. They have a solid beer selection, plenty of space, and the pool tables are free to play. Seriously, come here, kick back with a few beers, and have a good time.

Pretty good happy hour. Im a fan of the cauliflower with the buffalo sauce. They have a huge selection of beers and ciders as well as some house cocktails. The set up is a bit confusing and all over the place, but once you figure it out, its a chill place to relax. The service was nothing to write home about.

This place is the perfect weeknight hangout. Great food, amazing bartenders, great house cocktails and sports on the TV. Tegan mixes the best drinks, and you should definitely order the hand cut chips with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce. Add the house hot sauce for the authentic experience.

They have Hockey! I drove to four sports bars in the neighborhood one morning and none of them had the hockey package. Thankfully I found this place! The limited menu from Beths next door is good, and they definitely had some great craft beer on tap. Ill definitely be heading back!

If you are looking for a casual bar with a relaxed atmosphere, this is what youre looking for. Go to the bar to order. Happy hour is good. Service was friendly, but dont expect them to wait on you for everything - seek them out and they are very helpful. I would definitely go back

I really like the outdoor seating and their poutine. Im removing one star because I dont like having to go to the bar to order stuff. Plus, their food is pretty mediocre, aside from the poutine. I really tried to give this a 3.5, but couldnt.

As an Aussie I felt right at home - the food was awesome (had a meat pie and the chicken schnitzel), the vibe reminded me of home and the afl on TV was a nice change from the American football and baseball in pretty much every other pub.

Nice place to watch sports - lots of TVs, lots of bar games, and good drink/beer/cider selection. Food is pretty mediocre, especially breakfast, but the bottomless mimosa option is pretty nice and typically difficult to find in Seattle.
