I am a server at a restaurant that DoorDash repeatedly comes to.. My honest opinion is that I ABSOLUTELY HATE DOORDASH!! What customers of DoorDash do not understand is that servers are required to pay out a percentage of their tips they make to not just the host/hostess, but to the dishwasher as well.. what we base that percentage off of is not off of how much me made in tips that shift (which night shift is slim to none) but we base it off of our net sales that shift.. that means if people decided to tip poorly that day but we sold high sales in food, then we have to pay out of pocket. When DoorDash comes to pay for the food we NEVER get a tip from them!!! EVER!!! I am a single mother of 2 that works full time 6 days a week to provide for my children and I am stuck paying out of MY POCKET FOR YOUR FOOD AND SOME DRIVER THAT HAS THE WORST ATTITUDE TO GET THE MONEY!!! SERIOUSLY!? I am going to be speaking with my owner about an automatic 18% gratuity on ALL DoorDash orders as this is not right!! I do not eat your food so why should my kids have to suffer!? My job is to support my family that has fought tooth and nail to get on our own feet only to watch a smug look on a DoorDashs drivers face as he signs a c/c receipt for $56 and not a single penny as a tip only for me to pay out of MY POCKET as it increased my sales leaving me to pay out more than I made at the end of the night is absolute CRAP! Please stop using them.. it is a wonder why they no longer have a customer service number anymore they are robbing everyone blind and we are all letting them get away with it by continuing to use them...

My Wife recently had major surgery and I need to be home to assist her. Ordered from door dash at 7pm last night. Order stated 40-50 minutes for delivery. At 8:15 I was alerted the order was running late and would arrive closer to 8:35. At 8:35 an alert stated the order was picked up. At 9 pm I received an alert that the order was delivered...except it never arrived. I clicked on the online customer service chat and waited over an hour in queue only to have the app freeze when I finally got to a rep. So I then tried to call their customer service number and after 45 minutes in queue I gave up. So I sent an email to them with my complaints about no delivery and wasted time. This morning I was credited back the charge for my meal and that is all. So I called in this morning and got to an actual rep who told me that “sorry” was all I was entitled to for 5 hours of my wasted time. While that may be true, horrible customer service and they show they don’t value their customers one bit. I don’t care what excuse they use, they obviously don’t stand behind their delivery promises or value their customers. The fact that the order listed as delivered either means it went to the wrong address (which I double checked) or the delivery person stated it delivered when it was not. Either way, it was their screw up and they should at least try and make it right.

I originally gave this app 5 stars after my first great experience with them, but as I have now been a user of this app for a while and have used the service many times - Ive changed it to 1 star. Almost every single (I think with the exception of like 2) order was either missing an item or had something wrong. They will never send out the missing food, even if its someones main entree, even though when you go through the help menu it is an option. They wont actually refund you either, even though that is an option in the menu as well - what they will do is give you more credits to use on their incompetent service, sometimes not even covering the total of the ruined/missing items. My most recent experience was the worst yet and is why I will not be using this service anymore (even though I would have been a very good customer!). We ordered 55$ worth of food, our driver did not arrive at the site until it was the estimated delivery time (an hour after we ordered). He didnt respond to my text inquiring an eta. The food did eventually arrive, ridiculously late and all at room temperature - Im talking melted milkshakes and soggy burger buns. It wasnt edible. When I placed my complaint, I got an email response saying I was being credited for 5$. You can just keep it, and Ill use my money somewhere else.

Some of the reviews may be completely justified, but others are not. The restaurant employee who gave one star because the delivery drivers dont tip her? She needs to take up her complaint with her manager. The owner of the restaurant is the one who decided to partner with DoorDash so as to increase the restaurants business. What should the driver do? Tip the wait staff out of their own pocket? They are working for the tip as well. Restaurant staff should not take out their frustrations on the delivery drivers, who are just trying to get by like everyone else. As for delivery times, most of the time this is out of the drivers control. Many times they will be given an order at a restaurant that is 25 minutes away, and then another 25 to the delivery address. Any delay at all (like traffic) and the order will be a bit late. Everyone in Seattle should understand how bad our traffic is. If the driver doesnt follow instructions, fine. Give them a low score. But understand how the whole delivery system works before giving them grief about it. If you dont want to pay a service / delivery fee, then order from a pizza place that doesnt charge one.

Terrible customer service. The driver went to the wrong location, so my order was late.. then when I looked at my updates on the DoorDash website, it showed an extra charge for a "substitution". I called the driver right away and he assured me that was a mistake and there was no substitution made and my order would come exactly as I ordered it. The driver finally shows up and the order was as I had originally ordered it. It was the drivers second day on the job and he was flustered and nice but the service with the DoorDash company was terrible. I looked at my bank website after the order and it showed two separate charges for this order. Only one was processed, but it had an extra charge for a "substitution" that I had never received. I contacted customer support via their website on Monday. It is Thursday and I have heard absolutely nothing back. Will NEVER use this delivery service again. I have had much better service with UberEats, GrubHub, and Bite Squad.

I thought this food delivery service would be convenient for those busy work days when I could not grab a bite --Wrong! Between the missing food items, Door Dash ordering software glitches and poor customer service, I cancelled my service. Today, I ended up paying $16.43 for a burger from Lot 3. Really? They forgot the fries, and the burger was cold. The first time I ordered, the delivery driver was rude and practically threw the food at the receptionist and didnt say whose food it was. There was also no name on the order which was also not helpful. What kind of business is this? I would expect if you charge a customer $16.43 for a burger and screw up that order, that you could make an effort to bring the dang fries and not only offer to give the customer a credit of $5.99. Goodbye Door Dash!
