I was in Seattle on a business trip, and came to Chan with a friend for Happy Hour at 5:30 on a Tuesday. We ordered a few food items from the Happy Hour menu (Pork Sliders, Fried Oysters, and Kimchi Sampler) and a few drinks (Makgeoli, Rum Punch, and Kazi). The food was superb. The Kimchi Sampler was worth far more than the $3 we paid for it for the taste, and 3 different varieties that were all delicious and very different. The Pork Sliders were juicy and succulent and exploded with flavor. The Oysters were my least favorite of the three, but they had a great smooth and creamy texture beneath the fried covering; they werent packed with flavor like the other dishes, but the dipping sauce provided that. For the drinks, I had the Rum Punch and the Kazi. They were both good drinks, flavorful and you could taste the alcohol. However, they were both definitely on the sweet side for me. I usually avoid sweet drinks, but just one or two of them if they are delicious works fine. Leaving the place, I also realized that they had a decent amount of alcohol, as I was feeling the effects when I really didnt expect it. We paid under $40 ($20 per person) for all that we ordered including tax and tip. For the quality of what we got, I would pay far more. However, these were Happy Hour prices. Check out the Happy Hour for sure; non-Happy-Hour will probably come with a heftier price tag, but is likely still very worth it.

A tiny Korean cuisine restaurant tucked inside a building near pike market. My friends recommended this place , some perks of being a traveler ;) . The server was very helpful and the food delicious . Their chicken wings were a super hit at the table .we ordered chicken fried rice with sea weed , some dish which has garden vegetables ( its a cold dish with quinoa for the weight watchers) , pork was ordered and devoured by friends . Finally one of my Friend who is a vegetarian ordered for the glass noodles without the meat and told the server that he would like it spicy and they made it super spicy ( no complaints ) and the dish was delicious . I had tears in my eyes and my friend was sweating it out but all of us left with a smile. The Korean beer was very nice says my boy friend . Oh! They dont take reservations , so you have to walk in and wait for the table to be allocated . Warm people so you wouldnt have a problem hanging around . Sorry didnt click any pics as lighting was low and we were all starving after a hike .

First things first, the owner of this restaurant is the happiest man Ive met. Next onto the staff. They were the most polite and cable restaurant staff Ive ever had the pleasure of being served by in all my years of Google reviewing. Now onto the food. For a starter I got the deep fried rice cakes. While I was expecting a birthday cake, this was a pleasant surprise. The perfect blend of sweet and spicy, it was purely tantalizing to the palate. I thought things couldnt get better until I received my Bo SSAM. Cooked to perfection, my grandmothers Bo SSAM recipe which has been passed down through the family since the Liao Dynasty had nothing on this culinary masterpiece. I had but one small lament: my SPAGHETTI wasnt even cooked! They just handed me an uncooked box of Barilla SPAGHETTI! It poked my mouth and was uncomfortable to chew! This restaurant needs to snap back to SPAGHALITY and realize that SPAGHETTI is the way of the future! Overall 5 and 1/2 stars; would recommend to a friend.

Just came to Chan for the first time for happy hour and really liked it. Its small and it is kind of hidden in the Pike Market but it is worth finding. They have happy hour until 6:30 and their Korean-inspired happy hour is pretty great. We tried both their pork and bulgogi beef sliders, which were very good, their spicy chicken wings with peanuts, their calamari, and an order of their roasted cauliflower with chile oil (not on the happy hour menu). Okay, I am probably weird but the cauliflower was my favorite. It was virtually a whole head for $7 with a great sauce and toppings to compliment it. Their other happy hour dishes were also quite good. Service was exceptional and their dining room was even full with a large party.

I have to give this place five stars. As a Korean food connoisseur Ive tried a number of Korean spots. Chan, takes all the best of Korean cuisines and adds a few western touches. Maple-glazed-pork-belly, as an example. My sweet potato dessert was a familiar unsweet, no-guilt , goodness. Check this place out but expect to wait. Staff are generously hospitable, though, Korean food is designed to be shared so dont be annoying. Share all the dishes and enjoy discussing the flavours with your table mates.

This place was a pretty bitter disappointment. My fiance and I love Korean food but this was a very poorly executed attempt at fusion cuisine. The Bulgogi 5.3 was the only part of dinner that I truly enjoyed. Everything else was very.... Meh. And this is interesting considering its owned by the same people who own Bacco which is an amazing little food spot. The only saving grace we found was the hostess who did her best to make our experience something other than a complete disaster.

I absolutely loved the fried oysters, and Ive never liked oysters. This has opened my eyes. Other than that, Ive had my fair share of Korean food, and only recently returned from Seoul, so I think the Korean dishes, especially the ones with the gochujang-like paste were okay. They all tasted a little similar, but I still enjoyed them. We also had the soju flight and ginger makeoli drink which were good. The decor was very nice too and theres a bearable (around 15 min) wait.

Great little spot for a date night. The Korean food here was amazing and bursting with flavors in every bite! I recommend sitting at the bar because you can watch the cooks do there magic! My partner and I ordered the Korean Fried Wings, Mushroom Japchea and 53 Bulgogi. They served it family style in 3 courses which was a nice experience and allowed more time to enjoy each dish to its the potential. I highly recommend the 53 Bulgogi its do die for!

OMG! The vibe of this place was absolutely awesome! We sat at the bar and was able to watch the cooking process and gained even more appreciation for the food. Was able to talk with the chef/owner and even get SOME of the kimchee recipe. 10 tables or so and maybe 12 seats at the bar. Well worth finding this place. We are staying near the Space Needle and plan on making the mile or so trip back for dinner tonight!
