Mediocre, Pricey, Small Portions and Rude Service A good rule of thumb: beware the "fusion" joints as well as the "& Lounge" restaurants, as they dont produce quality authentic dishes. Bang Bar isnt the worst restaurant in the area, but I wouldnt recommend it over taking a trip to a better restaurant (Thai Tom or Thaiku). I definitely wouldnt waste money on the Satay, which was bland and cold. Speaking of cold: It seemed as if we were an inconvenience to our server, who was a bit rude and too busy flirting with the bartender and texting to ever refill our waters. I give service workers a lot of slack (because Ive done they for a living and I understand how annoying customers can be), but I cant forgive a server whos so in their own world that their patrons dont have water. The basic Thai dishes didnt match the flavors of what youd find in the ID or near UW and the portions were overpriced and small. The Phat si-io was too oily and underseasoned and the Cashew Chicken was light on both cashews and chicken. Perhaps it was an off night? Who knows. But first impressions are everything in food service and I wasnt impressed. Maybe its okay at lunch special prices for most people, but I found the music to be obnoxious and the food to be far too costly and lacking in depth for happy hour portions being served late at night.

I have been to Bang Bar many times and have enjoyed my experience. So on Thursday when my office decided to buy lunch for everyone I picked Bang Bar. First off the woman who took our order was rude, she rushed us through, and kept interrupting during the order process. Secondly Three of the Eight of us got sick. My Pad Thai smelled and tasted super fishy! It was disgusting! One lady who works with us had to leave an hour after eating her food because it was so awful it made her vomit! Needless to say My office will not be buying lunch from Bang Bar ever again. If i ever go back it will surly be a very long time, and i will not eat Pad Thai. My last experience was destroyed !

This place is AMAZING! I have eaten here 3 times, and while I love me some Pad Thai from Lees Asian right down the street, this place is equally as awesome. The Pad Thai is good, but the Massaman Curry is out of this world. I get it with tofu and a scoop of rice. Its coconut creamy with perfectly cooked onion carrot and potato. My friend usually gets the Pad See Ewe, which he also swears by. I got 3 1/2 stars this past time - it was not spicy at all - Ill go for a full 5 stars next time. And service has always been good - we usually come during a weekday at 11-ish, so it has never been packed, the wait staff are very attentive without feeling like they are hovering.

I have been living in W Seattle for about two years.... I have been eating Thai food for years... I love their food. It is really the best Thai I have had... I do like Thai Ginger and Siam, but feel BangBar is better. I always get great service. The restaurant is somewhat small; but they have a good bar and I feel they have a great dining room atmosphere.... I sometimes order delivery; and they are always quick.... I love that I have a great Thai restaurant close to where I live....

Great Atmosphere and Presentation. I ordered the Pad Thai which is the staple of Thai food when it comes to american tastes. It was surprisingly so, so. I ordered 5 star spicey and it was mild. And overall it wasnt as sweet as I prefer. I gave them a high ranking still because eveything else was spot on and delicious including several appetizers we tried. And everone else that I was with really seemed to enjoy their plates.

Food was decent. Service however was below average at best. Im typing this as I continue to simply wait on my tab. Im at over 5 minutes waiting. The place is not busy at all, and we are watching the young servers just talk and hang out, as we wait. They forgot out Thai tea and spices, so we asked, twice. Definitely will not come back here

Horrific garbage food and service. I have been a few timesand it quitesimply sucks. I had a particularly bad experience where they screwed up my to go order and it was frankly inedible crap. I contacted them asking for a refund--something I never do--and they refused. I will never eat here again.

It opened as a high-end Thai restaurant with an unforgettable soft shell crab phad thai. But business was so so and so they recreated themselves as a mid-range Thai restaurant. Food is pretty good, even with no soft shell crab in site, and their tea is exceptional.

I typically get great service here, and the noodle dishes are superb. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because I found the tom kha soup lacking in taste, and the crispy garlic chicken was way over-sauced. But I cant recommend the pad thai enough!

This is our favorite place for Thai. We havent had anything that wasnt delicious. Best part for me is they are willing to adjust items (if possible) to cater to my gluten intolerance. Staff is great and they are open for lunch!

Food is good service from the lovely ladies that work there is good, and the atmosphere is soothing. My favourite plate is the bangbar noodles very rich and flavoring and also a good drink from the bar is bangbar Cosmo.

Service was very slow and the food wasnt very good. White rice is always over cooked and they charge you $2 for it even though it should clearly already come with the dish you ordered. The cocktails are also pretty weak

Ive eaten here twice now, once during lunch time and once during dinner. Both times my food was absolutely delisiouc and the service perfectly great! Good portions, good value, great place to eat. A must!

Consistently cheerful, friendly and knowledgable staff. Atmosphere is attractive and not overly noisy. I always enjoy the food and find it easy to fall back on Bang Bar as something reliably good.

Weve eaten here once before and it was good. However, this most recent time it was horrible - we couldnt finish the dish! So, we are giving it two starts for that contrast in experience.

Delicious food, best Pad Thai Ive ever had! Also try the Tasty Beef (Marinated in herbs). The place might not be the nicest looking restaurant but the flavor is totally worth it.
