New restaurant in Ballard and what a star! The decor is modern with a ship like layout. Our waiter was sassy and fun and gave us his honest opinion on the menu. I ordered some of his recommendation: Bloody Mary $ 8 - Drink for sure! Im not a Bloody Mary fan, but this was refreshing. New England Clam Chowder $5 - tasty and creamy Salmon Chowder$5 - a new love, yum! perfect amount of the sea Prawn Cocktail $16 - big plump prawns, fresh. Seared Sea Scallops $ 22 - light and buttery, so good! Crab Roll $ 18 - THE BEST THING ON THE MENU! The crab meat in the middle was light and buttery. It felt like cotton candy in my mouth, get it! Overall, I love their service and wouldve given them a 5-star rating, but unfortunately the waiter forgot ALL of our oyster order. It wasnt one or two shell, but we ordered all of them. Since this was a big hiccup, I sadly had to cut down the rating. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and for sure during their Happy Hour: 3:30PM-6PM & 10PM-Closing, EVERYDAY. $1.50 Shuck Oysters and selected drinks. The atmosphere is relaxed, so its best to come with friends. Cant wait to come back again for their Crab Roll, one of the best thing I have ever ate, nom!

Went here with a friend for dinner last week, and got exactly what I was expecting - seafood. We started with three oysters each, priced from $2-$3, which were quite tasty. Oysters come with horseradish, lemon and small squeeze bottles of cocktail sauces (including mango jalapeno), but were very tasty on their own. For the main course we split willies bucket, which was a steamed assortment of mussels, clams, and oysters (~$15). This was sufficient food, supplemented by the plentiful amount of bread that they brought with great garlic butter, but didnt leave us stuffed. The rest of the menu looked tasty, with a wide range of seafood. Most of the mains were probably closer to $20-$30. My friend had a fernet based cocktail and I had a beer. Both were tasty. Theres a back bar that we had hoped to drink in after the meal, but it was closed that night for a painting class. The glimpse we got inside looked promising though.

Ive been here 3 times, and I think the 3rd may be my last. My friends and I have always enjoyed the food -the primary reason for returning, but after the last 2 visits the service was really terrible. Im pretty patient when it comes to the timing of when the food comes out... so long as I have a drink in front of me. In my most recent visit, it took nearly 10 minutes to even place a drink order, and nearly as long for the drinks to come out after. On my second visit my friend had to repeatedly request for his beer, because the server forgot. Other comments; the server seemed to be pretty knowledgeable about oysters, the tap list is written on the wall and really only clearly viewable from the bar, I also think the atmosphere is pretty nice. But as Ive said before, I cant justify returning, unless the place was completely empty (which it was on my first visit, when the service was average).

We went for happy hour on a Monday evening and sat at a booth in the bar. The food was tasty, as were the local brews, but our service was quite poor hence the 2 star review. We ordered and received our food in a reasonable amount of time, and then were not visited again... not to check how our food was or see if we needed anything else (and we were planning to get another dish and more drinks). After 30 minutes of zero contact with our server, we decided to flag her down to get the check and leave. Ive worked in a nice seafood restaurant before and understand when its busy it can be hard, but the somewhat busy restaurant wasnt slammed by any means , and there were multiple servers working in the bar so Im not sure what the issue was. We didnt catch our servers name, but she has short hair. For the prices at this restaurant, I expect better service.

If you love oysters, this is the place for you. Im not a huge fan of oysters and was not necessarily wowed by their selection other than that but the food I did have was amazing! I had the Coho salmon and my wife had the fish and chips. Both were great and the sides that came along with it were great as well. I dont drink wine but there seemed to be a good selection here as well. The atmosphere and ambiance in this place was great. Whereas some restaurants have you seated too close to the party next to you, this place had well-spaced tables. The lighting was adequate to produce a relaxed but classy feel and wait staff was helpful, timely, and friendly. All in all a good experience.

Not super impressed with Ballard Annex Oyster House. The menu definitely has some tasty things on it, but nothing I had was particularly fantastic. Oysters were okay, but the selection didnt provide a huge variety. The biggest downside was the cost. For decent, but unimpressive dishes, the prices are on the high side. If quality, imagination in the dishes or even service (which seemed slow and inattentive during a weekend lunch with fairly few patrons) were noticably improved, it might get closer to explaining the price point.

Food very slow to come out. Steak and Potatoes sent back for being way overcooked (I never send back). New one was average. The kumu oysters tasted good, but out of the 32 oysters of different types, one of them made me very sick. It could have been something else that they served that made me sick. Anyway, the value for money was not there even if the food had been fabulous. Perhaps it was an off night for them (Monday), but I will never go back there again to find out.

Excellent place to check out if you want to try fresh seafood on the spot. They sell fresh uni, crab legs, jumbo shrimp, oyster shooters all in small cups. They have a tiny table on the side that holds all the condiments to go with your food. Prices are reasonable and everything I tried were amazing. Loved the creamy sweet uni and the shrimp were gigantic! They ship most items everywhere in 48 hours. City Fish Market is another Seattle must.

What a little gem! Came here for my husbands birthday on a Tuesday night, it wasnt busy at all, and the service was stellar. Lots of fresh seafood. We ordered the Steamed Mussels which were steamed right before our eyes! The drinks were delicious. We also split a crab cake which was super yummy. Reasonably priced and I think you get much larger portions than say, Bastille down the street (and I do love Bastille!) We will DEFINITELY be back!

I was there for a girlfriends birthday party in back space. Stood to get drinks for over 10min. Finally we just went to front of restaurant to get our drinks. The back area is way to warm, and lacks space. I wasnt at all impressed. Especially the slow service, and they charged me for an extra wine. When I brought it to their attention they didnt seem to care to fix it at all. Pay attention to bill. Would never go back.

My girlfriend and I love this place. We go at least once a week. They have one of the best happy hours in Seattle. The oysters, steamed clams/mussels, (lightly) friend calamari, and fish and chips are among our favorite items. The staff is also very helpful and friendly. One of my favorite places in Seattle. Great food and very affordable. I highly recommend this restaurant.
