Just ending a three night stay at OCR. This place is wonderful, the people, the CLEAN rooms, the view! We are already planning our next trip here. Best long weekend weve had in years. March 2014 update: We just got back home from another wonderful three days at OCR, this time for our 15th anniversary. We stayed in 604, a one-bedroom with full kitchen and mutt friendly. The view of the ocean, while not the 180 degrees that room 403 has, was quite astounding. There is a view of the south ravine where you can see that the tree doctor made some exacting trims to enhance the view while still leaving the trees healthy. That is attention to detail there folks. This will be a great room in the summer because the trees will shade the deck without obstructing the great view of the surf. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was heaven to sleep on and the shower had lots of hot water and good flow. Of course everything was spic and span, not a crumb or speck of dust to be found. The room smelled clean. By that, I mean you could not tell that this was a room that had hosted pets for years. At OCR pet friendly doesnt mean they will put you in the stinker room. You would never know pets were staying there unless you brought one (or three.) Not knowing what a full kitchen included, we over packed. We didnt have to pull out anything. All I used of what we brought was just my favorite Tramontina pans and spatula, just because I like to cook with them. OCR supplies dinnerware and cutlery for four and just about any gadget that you need to cook. Pans, pots, colander, cheese grater, spaghetti spoon, good knives... its not going to be like an episode of Cutthroat Kitchen while youre cooking. WiFi is great in this room thanks to a repeater that they setup outside the office. I showed 3.7/.7Mb/s which is what you would get with mid-range DSL. Totally acceptable. Ryan was in the office Sunday and allowed us a private meeting with Mr. Kitty. He had a new catnip toy and a joyful playtime was had by all. Dont worry about your car at night, I spied Mr. Kitty keeping a close watch on the lot into the wee hours. We took a quick tour of the spa this time. Its like a mini Y there! Great pool and hot tub. Nice modern weight room and, like everything at OCR, clean. Too bad the masseuse was booked up during our stay, well know next time to schedule in advance. All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable stay that made our anniversary Very special.

August 2014 - The restaurant food was excellent. We did not stay at the hotel but drove from Ocean Shores for dinner on our anniversary. To start with the bad, we made reservations for 8:15 but they were behind so could not seat us until 8:30. Now for the good, at 8:30 they offered to seat us or we could wait a short while for a seat by the window which we did. The decor was wonderful and had great ambiance. The lights were dimmed to set an intimate mood and the music was violin covers of popular contemporary songs. The view was great (although it was foggy so we couldnt see the ocean but it was still a great view of the forest). We ordered the duck breast and elk tenderloin which were both wonderful, the best meal Ive had in all of Washington state. The duck breast was medium rare which was a little too rare for me so if I did it again I would ask for medium. The bread they serve before the meal was absolutely amazing, I have never had bread that tasted this good before. They also compd us a desert because it was our anniversary. The desert was a creme brulee and they fire roasted it right by our table. The creme brulee was good but the top was slightly burnt and that would be my only complaint of any of the food. My wife had a glass of wine which was good quality. A couple things you may want to consider if you plan to eat here: this is fine dining so the prices are high and the portions are small but the quality is amazing. Its the kind of place to go for a special meal with a special person, not somewhere to take the kids (unless you have lots of cash). We spent $105 for 2 meals and 2 drinks, 1 drink being a $14 glass of wine (this includes providing a 20% tip).

One of the reviewers below persuaded me that I needed to bring my two dogs to the Ocean Crest Resort over 4th of July weekend. I could not have been happier! Miles of beach, quiet, a perfect getaway. My room was super clean, super clean, with a great view, and it was amazingly affordable for a holiday weekend! I was thrilled to be able to bring my pets. The staff is friendly, helpful, and funny. When I arrived, it was clear that the steps down to the room I had selected would be hard on my older, arthritic dog, so they switched me into another room right away. I spoke to most of the staff over the course of my stay, and from the handyman to the owner they are personable and helpful. I grew up on the east coast, spending summers on Cape Cod, and I prefer the Ocean Crest experience: there are no crowds. Even on a holiday weekend, I felt like I had the beach to myself. And with the exceptional customer-service orientation of the staff and family, I felt like I was home. Love the Ocean Crest Resort and cant wait to go back.

I hesitate to say too much about this gem because then it will be even more difficult to get a room there. Simply put, this is a unique destination to enjoy a night or a week at the beach. The views from the upper floor rooms are spectacular! Since youre perched on a cliff you can leave your door ajar all night and listen to the sounds of the mighty Pacific ocean. Unfortunately, the superb restaurant burned to the ground in 2011 but they are about to start rebuilding. In the meantime, theres good and affordable food just a few short miles away. Theres a charming wooden stairway that winds its way down to the beach. Once youre there you have miles of uninterrupted sand to explore. There is a wonderful pool, hot tub and spa that is just a few steps from your room. Its a great place to just hang out and unwind. If youre thinking of staying at Ocean Shores why not instead drive north 15 miles and lose yourself in the world that is uniquely Ocean Crest. Just keep the secret to yourself.

Ocean Crest Restaurant was incredible! My fiancé and I were celebrating an anniversary, and they made us feel very special. We were seated at a table over looking a spectacular view of the woods and beach; I didnt take pictures because they would never do that view justice. The wait staff was beyond pleasant and really seemed dedicated to making sure we had an incredible experience. The power went out about 5 minutes after we were seated, but was soon turned back on. Our meal still came out in a timely manner, and was very delicious!! I had the steak, which was tender and well seasoned and my fiancé had a crab pasta dish that was phenomenonal. Before you leave, please please try the creme brulee! It was the perfect topper to a lovely evening. Were glad we celebrated at the Ocean Crest!
