This is a small "order at the counter" buffet style restaurant with a small Filipino goodies and groceries area near the register. The owner is friendly and is happy to give you a little tour of the delicious array of ready-to-serve dishes if youre not sure what youd like. We ordered some lumpia, stewed goat curry, and adobo. Everything was hot and delicious. The goat had some small bones to remove, but the meat was so tender they practically fell out on their own. The adobo was excellent, and the lumpia and dipping sauce were fantastic as well. If youre looking for a reasonably priced huge meal of Filipino comfort food, this is your place.

If you are really interested in genuine reviews of Maresol (Thats Maresol not Mare Sol) I would heartily suggest going to YELP instead of paying much attention to the above very poor review by one of the above. Not sure what bone he or she was picking put nearly every review at YELP is 4 or 5 stars. Probably a competitor. Granted I have not been in the RPI since Viet Nam 1966 but I am very pleased with the fair here. It is not designed to be a fancy (foo foo) restaurant. If I wanted fancy surroundings I would have spent 5 times as much. However, I went for the cuisine and i am pleased with the results.

When I miss home Id go visit Kuya and ate for some delicious pinoy food and some chikahan. My favorite is ginataang monggo, nilagang baka at pinakbet :-)) nice Pinoy ambiance. Tv showing Filipino favorite shows

Among all of the Filipino restaurants in western Washington, this place is unfortunately on the bottom of my list. The food was stale. It tasted like it was cooked in a hurry. It actually tasted like the food at the impoverished, flies swarming and dirty streets of Manila. I would say this place is a fastfood more than a restaurant. I would rather eat at McDonalds.

The people who work and mare sols are so friendly and warm. My nephew had never been there before nor had he really had filipino either. They let him sample stuff. And they gave us a lumpia for the road since we had been 3 places before that, which were all closed. I definitely recommend it to all of my friends! Great family place too!

If you want great Filipino cuisine, this is the place to go around the Tacoma area. Wide selection of meat and vegetable dishes, desserts, and snacks from the Philippines. I became a Washington resident, but I missed my fathers cooking and both Roger and Sol does it best to get your stomachs filled and reminisce like home cook meals.

Went to Mare Sol for the first time because a coworker/friend recommended it to me when I asked about where to fine a good restaurant for filipino food. I ordered to go 2 of my favorite food items, lumpia and pancet. I loved it and not only was the food good but their service was outstanding and very friendly.

The family that own and run this place takes pride in their cooking. Great folks and delicious Filipino food! I often get lucky and leave there with siopao when a new batch is made. My family and I love this place and weve been here a dozen of times.

This is an absolute must anytime Im in Lakewood and looking for food. The staff is very friendly and funny. Whats best is theyve been around for over 15 years so that alone should tell you how good it is! Do yourself a favor and come by to eat!

I love the food they cook. I only gave it 4 stars because I have been to several Filipino eateries and I have to say Ive had much better. But this place is still great nonetheless. The best adobo Ive had was in a Filipino eatery in Las Vegas.
