Who would guess?? I discovered this small, neighborhood eatery, informal but warm & welcoming with an Ethnically Diverse Menu of delectable sandwiches and tasty temptations to complete your meal. What a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere created by this family-operated establishment where the Chef from NYC -Queens greets customers to ensure they are delighted by their meal...which I truly was!! Mine, a Pork & Goat Roasted Cuban Sandwich on an Artisan bun...marinated and seasoned to perfection in a mouth watering sauce. For sweetness, I tried the pâte à choux made to order and served hot ... "to die for". It was as if my French mother who learned to make them by her mother had made them! Memorable?.. Ah, yes! I learned that this "food from around the world" was prepared by the chef and his wife who earned their cuisine technique while working the craft AROUND THE WORLD. Authentic, I would say! For me, someone married to a Certified Executive Chef (40 years) and former Washington State Chefs Assn - Public Relations Director for 9 years...also a restaurateur in Seattle ..I have found a TREASURE in a small, hard-to-get-to but very neighborly diner (unless by slowing for the entry to the parking lot in the Uplake Retail Center). Believe me, I will be back to try the Vietnamese Sandwich!

First time in and WOW. An interesting south east asian french fusion with side trips to everywhere. For example, I had the Havana sandwich. Slow roasted pork, ham and havarti cheese with carmalized onions. YUM ! The special abvertised for tonight is a french beef stew made cognac and red wine that I may come back to try. Its small, (6 or 7 small tables, ) plain, and simple but the owners are putting their efforts where it counts, the menu. I recommend it as a lunch or casual dinner spot. Again, YUM,YUM,YUM.

As recent transplants to the area, my family and I have been investigating local (non-chain) restaurants. Weve found a plethora of good food, but breakfast at HodgePodge came out on top. Three of us sat down and three different dishes were ordered. Each dish was outstanding. The breakfast mac&cheese was not something I had ever seen, but was labeled best breakfast evar by the consumer. My wifes sausage gravy was one of the best Ive tasted, and my croquet madame was out of this world. Well be back.

i had breakfast there, it was the smallest breakfast menu i have ever seen. i got the worst omlete i have ever had, i could have gone in and made a better one and im bad at making omletes. it was like an egg scramble, not resembling an omlet at all, and it was extremely flat. the server had messed up our order and we were forced to wait 30 min for a side dish. i will never go there again.

My favorite place in Kenmore--maybe all of the North Shore area!! Great food, great service, great atmosphere. The French toast is amazing (sourced from a local bakery), the Cuban mac and cheese is delicious and huge, and coffee and beignets are a great option as well. So much pretty art on the walls, and its a great place for families and kids.

Despite the bright yellow signs and umbrellas outside (not my style of branding/design), this place was actually really good. My latte was made well with adequate foam, and the sandwich I ordered was made to order. It was very tasty, as well, and came out quickly. I also appreciated the little kids corner with books and toys. :-)

I know the owner Kris. He is a good guy who really cares about the local community. You will see local artists displaying their work for sale and live music some saturday nights as well. Stop in for lunch or dinner and enjoy the relaxed feel. Im making this spot my new quickstop while Im in the field.

Id give the food 4 stars but the wait was not worth it. It literally took 30 min to get two sandwiches. I ordered the ho-chi-min II, it was great but a little over sauced with the peanut lime sauce. My wife had the TBH which was good, super fresh and bacon was perfect.

The owners really put thought into the menu and love into the food. You can literally taste the difference. They are understaffed so just be patient. It is definitely worth the wait!!

Family owned, family run. They serve diverse fare off of a clunky menu, but its delicious and probably the only good food you will have in the area.
