Welcomed immediately by the friendly woman who was to be my server. It was a Monday evening so I was able to go straight to my table. Noticing other Asians there enjoying a dinner I suspected I was in the right place. I ordered hot green tea. She brings out a large, full tea kettle for me to drink as much as I want so I do not have ask for 75,000 refills. She brings chilled edamame, miso soup, and a sampling platter, complementary! I order my nigiri, roll and handroll. They were all delicious! No old fishy smell, just fresh fish. The place is not very big, so Id imagine theyd be busy on the weekends. Prices suited my budget. I will be back again, and soon!

Excellent Sushi, great service and very nice dining atmosphere.... I took some friends out to expand on their minimal sushi experience and the pressure was on me to find a good place. The wait staff was very pleasant and right there to help at every turn. I would expect this level of service and grade of sushi in a fine sushi bar in Seattle but didnt expect it to be this good in Federal way... this restaurant is an excellent find. My friends really enjoyed the experience and complimented me on the restaurant... Thank you Hanabi for making me look good!

This is, hands down, the best restaurant in Federal Way! The service is great and the food is outstanding! They have a little something for everyone, even if your not a sushi fan. When we first sat down they served us the best hot tea and a wide variety of appetizers and miso soup complimentary with our meals. The price is very reasonable, and they have private rooms for small parties. Great atmosphere! When we returned a month later the waitress remembered our names and always makes us feel like family.

After my first experience in this underground restaurant, it was love at first bite. It was enough to inspire and motivate me to write a review. I partook their Unagi Kabayaki which is by far the best prepared form of eel Ive ever consumed thus far, the dish was truly deeliscious. I followed that with baked salmon rolls and chased it all down with some hot sake which made everything cherry. Hands down favorite Japanese/Korean cuisine, best blend of both worlds in my opinion.

It was okay. Thought I would go to a highly rated sushi joint instead of cheapo sushi land like I always do. Sashimi pieces were bigger, but kind of warm and not more tasty as sushi land. I feel like I just paid three times as much more for sushi I could have enjoyed at sushi land. Not sure how this sushi is any more e authentic then any other place ive been to like the reviews describe...the avocado in my roll wasnt even ripe. Im pretty dissapointed I spent 74 bucks

Best sushi in South King county by far! Weve been here twice and both times the food and service have been wonderful. The fish is very fresh, the rolls are all delicious and we have never been served anything that wasnt the highest quality. The service could not be better, the servers are attentive but not overly and are constantly bringing out wonderful things to try. When people ask where the best restaurant around is this is where we send them.

I live in Fedway so I dont have to go too far to enjoy one of the best sushi eateries in the Northwest. I usually order the Sushi Combo for lunch and its big brother (cant remember the name) for dinner. I have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. One way to judge a good restaurant is by the consistency of the food. I know that I will get the same food every time as the last time that I was here. Highly recommended.

I walked in to Hanabi, thought it looked cute, waited for a couple minutes when a waitress showed up and seated us. She was very nice, handed us our menu, our sushi list, and served us tea. Waited about 5 after deciding, saw the button to call for assistance, clicked it, waited... After another 15 minutes of doing this we left. There were 2 waitresses and 4 tables including ours, it was the worst waiting experience ever.

I loved it. Most of the times I want sushi I go to blue island sushi in federal way, but they close from 2-5 approx. Or on mondays that Im relaxed and in the sushi mood. This place I found it because blue island sushi was closed. So I went there, and the sushi is fresh and so good. So its a good place to go. You order with menu and its a smaller place but I liked very much what I ordered.

This was a good place. Its a fun spot for adventurous eaters. They have several thing son the menu I hadnt tried before. A couple of them I liked. A couple of them I didnt. The staff attended to us very quickly and engaged in conversation about the foods we had questions about. Everything else felt very...authentic, I suppose its the best word I have for it at the moment.

We are seasoned travelers and my husband is 1/2 Japanese. It was Wonderful Authentic Japanese cuisine. The sushi was fresh and our Bento box was delicious. The interior was authentic Japanese as well. They even had rooms for four to sit down on the floor with pillows, with Japanese screens. It is a must if your looking for really great Japanese food. ARIGATO!

I was working in Auburn for a week and searched for Sushi Restaurants in Federal Way and Auburn and found Hanabi. Service was great and wait staff was extremely friendly. Paul the Sushi Chef was very fast and friendly. The Sushi was fresh and well portioned... I will definately go back for more. If you want real Japanese Sushi this is the place to go.

No matter how many weeks (or months) between visits they always remember my name and my order. All of the wait staff is always friendly and kind. It feels like coming home everytime I come in. I always recommend Hanabi to anyone in the Seattle area, its worth the drive for some excellent people, excellent service and delicious sushi!!!

The roll was good, but not the best. Decent value for money. The battered and pan fried Geoduck was unique and thats something I will go back for. They served many nice little dishes of Korean appetizers (for free), so thats a real bonus. Noise level was low, I enjoyed having a little quiet space with my meal.

Stop what you are doing and go have a meal to die for at Hanabi. Friendly staff, exquisite menu with great, fresh flavor. Just...wow. Fresh, reasonably priced, the salmon cheeks were so tasty. Why are you still reading this? Go now, a wonderful dining experience awaits!

Went by at 120 and they had a sign up saying gone for lunch be back at 4. Who closes a restaurant to take a 3hr lunch. On top of that the curtain looked to have mold on it in the window. Waist of my time. Wont be giving them a second chance.

Really love going to Hanabis to give myself a treat. The sushi is great and very fresh and the service is always wonderful. Older, run down building but they make sure it is warm and inviting inside. Reasonably priced for the quality.
