What seemed like would be a great evening turned out to be disgusting... Just like many others here on yelp, I too was directed here by a dear friend. So i decided to take them all out for dinner just for the heck of it. We proceeded to eat the food (first batch of naan was cold, we requested new ones) and I have to admit the food was good! better than most. Buuuuuut I knew it was too good to be true. Looking over towards the chef, I noticed some rather disgusting actions that the chef was doing. It almost made me puke so if you are queasy, stop reading now.. The chef was coughing and sneezing all over the food he was making. He was wearing no gloves while cooking and worst of all he was cleaning snot off his face with his hands and then without washing his hands, he was preparing more food. BARFFF!!!!! We immediately stopped eating and requested to talk to the manager. He seemed to try and avoid us at first but eventually made his way to us in an empty restaurant. We told him what he saw and he said he would look in to it but never returned with anything. We had other problems too but it wasnt as close to a problem as the chef. They were just problems relating to service and friendliness. Anyways when we got our check we wanted to talk about the things we had saw. He approached the manager and someone else (I think it mightve been his son) and they laughed at us. This really upset me as I just ate some germ filled dish and all this person was doing was laughing at my face and saying that it happens and its in all restaurants. PURELY DISGUSTED! Then we started to argue a bit and he basically said it was our fault that we got food like that. how? I dont know We continued to argue and he even threatened to call the police. I said be my guest as you are disgusting along with your restaurant. He faked calling the police because we waited and they were a no show. As we were leaving they were calling us names and were pretty much trying to insult us. Being the bigger person we just left. As a warning to all, food may taste good, but may contain ingredients that you normally dont expect :P This is why the one star, I dont feel that a restaurant should be allowed to operate like that and then they disrespected us for THEIR mistakes... Oh and if your allergic to nuts and you tell them dont put in any, they will be in the food, so please be careful.

My mom and I were regular customers at this place. Once every two weeks at least. All the servers know us and so does the manager/owner. Well today we went in and ordered our usual lamb korma and chicken tikka masala and two naans. Well as I was walking to the bathroom I saw one waitress pick up the papadums (Indian type of chip) with her bare hands and served it to a customer. One each is given to each table but I couldnt believe she didnt use tongs or some kind of barrier between the food and her hands which who knows if they were clean or not. Then we ordered our food I ordered my tikka masala without green onion which is my usual order. I dont really care for green onion and its a little odd for that to be loaded up in chicken tikka masala anyways. We get our food and not only does mine have tons of green onion but it was so salty and it didnt even taste like the normal chicken tikka masala that is normally served to me pretty much on a weekly basis. I didnt make a big deal about it thinking it was the wrong dish brought to my table and the waitress took it back, after stepping on my moms foot really hard under the table without even acknowledging a sorry or anything. Well about two minutes later the manager/owner brings the same dish back to our table and insists that I order something else because thats how they make it. I told him Ive been in there every two weeks and know what I order because its the same thing all the time. He was so rude and told me "I know what Im talking about Ive been cooking for 47 years". I was so appalled. He was so rude and that is definitely not the way to treat someone who comes in there every two weeks and racks up at least a $50 tab between the two of us. Oh and I dont have kids but if you do, beware. He absolutely hates kids and babies. If one crumb is on the floor he will walk by they table and either give a warning, scold your child, or give you the rudest look. Also I have seen him tell parents to quiet their children even if they arent loud. Will not be going back.

When my husband and I first were looking for a good place to eat in Federal Way, we read the positive reviews, and were so impressed by what was said, we went, and we certainly agree. We attended the Sunday brunch. We were first impressed with the cleanliness and wonderful spices perfuming the atmosphere. The wide array were so delicious, healthy and the hot fresh Naan, so amazing. The owner went around and talked with everyone. He told us he buys everything fresh, prepares it without sugar or sodium. He uses a no sodium black salt. The owner grinds his own fresh spices. He took us for a tour of the kitchen and showed us how he prepares the food. We since, have gone many many times, every time we are warmly greeted by the owner, and all the guests who have come are equally impressed. I am diabetic, and this fits perfectly into my meal plans. The wonderful mango pudding is made with just mango..no added sweetners. It tastes like heaven on a cloud! The rice pudding is sweetened, so just a taste, but awesome. Vegetarians and vegans will also find it satisfying. My husband loves the lamb. I eat the delicious Tandori chicken some, but mostly love the lentils and vegetable dishes. The chai is the best I have ever had...really everything, is fragrant, healthy and vibrant. Whatever your fancy, ice tea, mango smoothies, so much variety, homemade fresh yogurt and condiments, and on Sundays he prepares a special appetizer that is supposed to aid in digestion. It really works. I normally feel over-full eating at a buffet, but not here, I feel energized. My blood sugar stays normal. It is wonderful! And we LOVE the owner, he is superlative!

Please Note: All the positive reviews can be posted by the owner of this restaurant, anyone reading the reviews should first read negative reviews, those are for sure from true customers.... I came from Atlanta to Seattle for a personal vacation with my family. I am staying right across East India Grill in Marriott Courtyard. Today we went to eat dinner at this place because it looked like a great place from outside. The very first "thing" I met in this place is a very rude person who seemed to me the manager of this restaurant. I am pretty sure he was very well underpaid for the job. The next thing was the very bad food.. I am an Indian and I can tell for sure this was the worst Indian food we have ever eaten. I wouldnt have written this review just because of the bad taste of the food, but I am very much compelled because of the rude behavior of that person. I have a two year old son and not sure why he didnt like him from the first minute and was coming to our table again and again with a frown look. My kid threw a bit of bread and he immediately came and gave a rude look and picked up the bread. Then again and again he was coming to watch us, as if he was warning me. I so much hated this place that wanted to leave... Whoever is the owner of this place should know of his actions. I may not be the first person to note his behavior.... Please avoid this place if you can...
