My family has been eating here regularly for years. We love that there doesnt seem to be a high staff turnover, so the faces are familiar every time (and it tells me theyre happy where they are, too!) Im pretty particular about gravy. Its a funny thing to say, but its true- I dont like a lot of gravies from restaurants because theyre too flour-y or bland, lacking basic seasoning, cant tell theres sausage, etc. I order the chicken fried steak without fail, every time we have breakfast at the diner! Well seasoned, crispy chicken fried steak with a robust gravy, perfect hashed browns and eggs, and orange juice- freshly squeezed on site- make the perfect start to my day. The menu is diner fare complete with ice cream and soda fountain options. The ambiance is friendly and welcoming and groups of all sizes are accommodated. Check out this staple Bremerton jewel!

If I could give 2.5, I would. Ive been eating here for many years now and I think the boom in popularity may be affecting the overall business venture. I ordered a Feta Scramble to go and was told it would be ready in 15, I arrived after about 20 minutes and it wasnt ready; they were busy so I totally understood. I waited about ten more minutes to get my food. They charged me $13, even though it is listed on their online menu as $10.95 and it was supposed to come with sour cream, which it didnt. Also, one of the main ingredients to the scramble was spinach and there were about 4 leaves in total. My to go order did not come with plastic utensils, which was frustrating. The food was meh and the portion wasnt very large. Nothing to write home about and certainly overpriced. Perhaps they perform better during slower business hours?

Cant say enough good things about the Big Apple Diner!!! The service was top notch. Someone was taking care of our every need. It we even looked like we might need something, someone was right there to be of assistance! We had my almost two year old grandson with us and the waitresses interacted with him, every chance they got. The food was great, the atmosphere reminded me of an "old diner" with a freshness and cleanliness and fantastic food. And dont forget to have a milkshake. There are at least 25 flavors available and they are "delish"...you even get the blender cup with whatever is leftover. And the prices....I was so impressed. For all that we got, way under priced in my opinion but Im not complaining....;) It may be an hour plus away from home but...I will be back!

Fresh cut fruit cup n orange juice is the only fresh thing about this dine..... the buttermilk pancakes was butter water down the french toast was just bread n very light eggs the strawberry in the fruit cup was fresh but the strawberry on the the French toast was out of the can.. i order steak n eggs with a side of grill onions the steak was not cook and the put the grill onions in my eggs and it was so cold and the dine that my food was cold in minutes.... And the end i ended up paying $56.00 for freshly squeeze orange juice and fresh fruit cup....... do you have $56.00 to waste......

I have been a consistent customer of the big apple for years. Dont know what happened yesterday but 3 out of 4 meals ordered were the worst we have ever experienced. My meatloaf was dry, gravy salty and mashed potatoes dry, thick and bland. My wifes gravy on her biscuit was thick and lumpy. My youngest daughter ordered the chicken strips and they were fine. The quality was not what I have grown to expect from this restaurant. What a waste of a $50.00 bill. On the plus side, the waitress was very nice and friendly.

There is NO other diner in this area like this one! It is our family tradition on most weekends to come here and have a wonderful breakfast, and we also enjoy having lunch and dinner there, too! It is a great family atmosphere with service that is friendly, efficient, and, should you happen to get an "off " day when something just is not right about your order, the staff will do whatever it takes to make it right!!! Awesome place, awesome people, the BEST diner food this side of the Puget Sound!!! :)

My family and I are repeat customers because of the lovely atmosphere, choices of comfort food, and great shakes. There are many choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that can be ordered at any time throughout the day, but the milkshakes are really where its at -especially the orange creamsicle-. Whether its a burger youre craving, some liver you want (ew), or a refreshing classic beverage, you can bet they serve it here.

Transferred up from CA back in 93 and found this "diner" only a couple miles where I first lived in Bremerton. For a not-so-big restaurant, I was impressed by the fairly sized meal offerings on their menu. Its been years since I would eat here regularly because after I retired from PSNS, I moved down to Lacey. But almost every opportunity I am in the Kitsap Peninsula, I would try to go to the "diner"....

Weve gone to Big Apple 3 times, each time has been wonderful. Fast service, eggs cooked to perfection, all is great especially the big cinnamon roll! So much better than other breakfast places like IHOP or Dennys. Also great atmosphere....worst part about the place is that there is always a wait (word of mouth apparently) so make sure you plan ahead. Usual wait when weve gone is about 25 mins.

Service sucked tonight. Sometimes it is better then others but all in all, service is, eh. Food is decent. I had the Big Apple Burger, over cooked but not to where it was too dry. Wife had Chicken Fried steak, the gravy looked nasty and had too much black pepper in it. They do make a very nice Cobb Salad though. A lot better places to eat in Bremerton but it is convenient.

Spiders all over the outside of the building. The rudest waitresses ever. Went in wanting ice cream for my nieces birthday, she just got home from a 7 month deployment yesterday. We were a large party 13 people. We were told we close soon go ro Denneys. Wont try to go again! Manager didnt even step in as they were laughing about their rudeness. Ridiculous.

I ordered biscuits and gravy . It was horrible. The biscuits were right out of the microwave, and the gravy is a mystery meat special tastes like turkey with here and there bitty pieces of low grade hamburger. The smell is not appetizing at all . Its disappointing I wont eat here ever again. On a lighter note the Orange juice is the best in town.

You cant beat The Big Apple Diner. The food is delicious, and its a one of a kind family owned restaurant- not some big monster mega chain. The food is real, it tastes great, its affordable, and the staff is very nice. Visiting The Big Apple Diner is a great experience that the whole family can enjoy.
