The host who seated us was a nice older lady, didnt speak a word to us, just brought us to our seat - right next to the front door. The girl who brought us our water looked as though she hated her job - she didnt smile, and when she brought us a small basket of chips (Im talking 20 chips) and salsa, there was only about 2 tablespoons of salsa in a bowl. She said, do you want more salsa in a quite mono tone voice and I said sure and again, she brought another bowl with about 2 tablespoons in it. We poured them into the same bowl and it didnt even fill it up half way.... okay, bad 1st impression. Their menu is like a novel - it is HUGE! about 10 pages in a book. When our waiter came, I didnt even know where to look for drinks. I ended up ordering the jalapeno margarita, my husband got a beer, my oldest a kids margarita and my youngest a lemonade - the drinks took FOREVER to come, but they were good. The margarita was not spicy until the last couple sips, but it was still good. We ordered the queso to start off with. It came in a HUGE bowl, with, again, only about 20 chips. This was enough queso to feed 10 people, easily, and it was really good, but we had to ask for more chips. After we had finished the chips they provided, a girl came by, grabbed the plate and said I can take this - and I said "um, no, actually, can you bring us some more more chips, please - the bowl of queso was almost completely full!!! I think their portions are way off. For our meals, my husband got the Molcajete - he really liked it, the sauce was DELICIOUS! I had the fish tacos - they were good, the sauce they serve with them was a spicy sour cream and I could have eaten that with everything on my plate! My youngest got the beef burrito - standard for a kids plate, although he was pretty sad that he didnt get any of the lettuce that everyone else got on their plates, and my oldest ordered a chicken and beef burrito - also a standard burrito. We also ordered a authentic chile relleno, which was really really good! After placing our order, we did not see our waiter again until after our food came - about 30 minutes - and again, after he checked on us just a minute after getting our food, we did not see him again at all - we had to flag down a different waitress (who was VERY nice - the best employee we encountered the whole night!) for hot sauce, then boxes, and at that point, yet another waiter brought us our check, processed our credit card and told us to have a good night. In all the food was good, we had a ton of leftovers to take home, which made yummy breakfast burritos the following day - BUT their staff is not as attentive as they could be - if the staff had been better, I would have given 4 stars. AND their house margarita was 9.00 - ouch!

This is my husband and Is "restaurant" we have been going here for 10 years, and have had the same waitstaff, owners, and chefs the entire time. The staff is friendly and takes the time to see to your needs, we just have to say "the usual" now and it comes! also, the food is excellent and inexpensive. Try anything with prawns in it, or the chicken chimichanga smothered in jack cheese, guacamole and sour cream. Absolutely to die for. and the drinks are inexpensive and well poured. Try the take out Tamales for a holiday party, order in advance, absolutely outstanding!

I went with seven other women, one who highly recommended the place. More than half of us didnt care for our food. A few of us ordered the chicken tortilla soup which was more like a broth with chicken and tortilla. Another ordered a salad that looked like one you order from a fast food restaurant and fajita meat on top, no sour cream, guacamole or salsa with it. She says it was very bland and had to ask for dressing. I wasnt impressed.

Went here with my girlfriend and daughter for dinner. Not my choice but my girl for some reason likes these types of places. Service was great but food was absolutely horrible! I had fish tacos which tasted like they used McDonalds filet o fish wrapped in a tortilla. Do not go here. Plenty of real Mexican restaurants around.....specifically I recommend El riconsito.....u wont be disappointed there.

Not exactly a cultural hub. I have a feeling that I was ignored because Im not a "good ol boy". The bartender forgot about me because she was too busy discussing her favorite prescription drugs, and I had to ask for chips. It doesnt matter how many times you call me honey, it doesnt cover up the fact that I felt ignored. You better have a lifted truck and a slackjaw.

My family has been going to Mazatlan restaurant in Auburn since 1978. The food is the best mexican food i have ever eaten. My husband loves the steak fajitas and i love the number 3 and love the rice. Our kids didnt even know what taco bell or taco time were until their aunt took them there. The owners and there family are wonderful.

We have been coming here for over 25 years or so. Love the service and the food is awesome. We have always been treated like family from our very 1st visit. Love this restaurant and take visiting family and friends here every time. We also have dinner here for most of our family members every year.

My wifes family grew up loving this place. Ive been there a few times. The service is great, but the prices are high and the food is not very good. They barely season the rice, the fajita meat is dry and has little flavor. Its just not very tasty for the price.
