Vegan review Food: The menu does not have any deliberately vegan choices, but I was able to order the portabello fajitas with no cheese or sour cream and SUDDENLY VEGAN!! The portobello shined in this dish. Ive never had it better! It had a nice grilled flavor that worked well as a fajita filler! The full plate of options didnt lack for choice or flavor. Black beans, rice, veggies, guacamole, pico, and lettuce - this was a wonderfully fulling vegan dish. Service: They were insanely busy when I got there, and things took longer than would normally be expected, but it was all good. I ate at the bar and my bartender thanked me for my patience and understanding more than once. That was all anyone should ever need - he did his best given how busy it was and didnt pretend that it wasnt rush hour. Atmosphere: This was my first visit to Cactus, and it seems like a chain. The decor was tasteful with nods to traditional Mexican culture, but not obnoxiously so. The music was also from Mexico, and at a volume that wasnt distracting, but was present. There is a special room full of tequila that I didnt explore, but everything seemd great. Overall: Good spot for adult dining. Not really a kids place, but well done for adults! Im happy that it was simple to go vegan here, and meat eaters will find plenty to enjoy - but should try the mushrooms. ZOMG so good!

Had no idea that Bellevue was such an upscale, trendy area. Plenty of shops and restaurants to keep you entertained. Several of the restaurants are upstairs off the Bellevue Square mall, and we thought the entrances were a little hard to find, and oddly located. Nice space and decor, lively inside. Service was OK, but nothing stellar. Our server was there promptly, and was helpful and engaging. Food arrived quickly, but drinks seemed to take forever—and the restaurant was not that busy. Chips and salsa are simply outstanding. Chips were very fresh, nicely salted. Salsa was chunky and very, very flavorful. Queso dip was smooth, hot and tasty. I had 2 different tacos, both were excellent, as were the black beans. Everyone enjoyed their food, and the pleasant atmosphere.

I wanted to post pictures of our food, but we devoured it all too quickly. That really says all you need to know. Food had amazing flavor. We started with queso which was good, but the texture was a bit thicker than I am used to. I got mushroom quesidillas and they were so flavourful! Much bigger portion than I expected, so be prepared! My husband had fish tacos, that were also delicious, but a bit unwieldy. He ended up eating them with a fork! I am a bit of a ginger beer conisure, so when I saw that they brewed their own I had to try it. I got the ginger beer with mint and lime that was amazing. Service was good, but it was packed and despite our server hussling around, it was tough for him to keep our small water cups filled. We will be back!!

Im extremely disappointed in the service here. We stopped for a late lunch, and ordered our meal. They bring my fiancés meal, and 7 minutes go by and Im still waiting for mine. Three servers come by and we tell them we are still waiting for my meal. We discover that my order was never placed. The server tells us that the meal will be right out, but now its 10 minutes later and still nothing. This was not the only part of order they forgot, we have been waiting 5 minutes for the promises refill. The food here is decent (if it ever comes), but we wont be coming back.

Service and food is utterly great. Their brunch will knock your socks off and the happy hour is really good, too. Prices are stellar, by far the best bang for your buck in Bellevue. Gotta love the bar area, its huge and always seems to be just enough seating. Ask for Jessie as your server, period. It takes a lot for me to mention a server by name, but she remembers my past orders and always has a great menu suggestion. Oh, and always with a genuine smile. Definitely coming back. A lot. In short- go here!

I have had dinners at Bida Manda twice within the last few weeks. The first time was excellent in every respect; top-quality dishes, and an attentive male server. My more recent visit (on a Tuesday night, 8pm) was a more mixed experience. One of the two fish dishes we ordered (Papaya salad with bass) had perfectly cooked fish but severely over-seasoned papaya salad. Our server was polite, but was clearly over-extended among all her tables. The restaurant is noisy; tables are very close to each other.

You know the food is going to be great here, but the service was rediculously good- shockingly! There was a 35 minute wait for a table, and no space at all in the bar, so it was slammed, but somehow the service was shockingly fast! Our waiter, Omar, was great- always there when we needed him, but never in the way, and was amazing at being really laid back when talking to us, even though he was obviously rediculously busy, while being really efficient. Loved everything about this experience!

The food was generally good, but let down in a few key areas. Chips had a slight sheen of grease of oil to them and lacked crispness despite being brittle, and while the ingredients in the fajitas were wonderful, the tortillas were dried crisp on one side of another rather than being soft throughout. We were impressed with the ready availability and taste of the gluten free menu. Looks up to snuff for anyone with a gluten intolerance and not just a check-the-boxes affair.

We went there for a birthday lunch before a movie my girlfriend loves the margaritas. I ordered the Christmas Tamales. After eating it I did not feel very well. We went to a two hour movie and I kept feeling like I had heartburn. The rest of the day into evening I didnt eat anything else as I couldnt and was eating tums to try and feel better. Went to bed and woke at 1am violently throwing up 12 hrs after eating. I feel much better now but will never eat here again.

Cactus. Interesting review. I absolutely love their salsa and their guacamole. Their flan is the best one Ive found in the city of Seattle. Their main courses though, I dunno. I have tried several things and have yet to find something that I LOVE. The closest I have come is their tortilla soup which is pretty tasty. The fajitas are pretty good as well but not great. My usual dining partner has the Navajo torts and she loves it. Give it a try, you might like it.

Food was substandard...service as well. When did restaurants only have paper napkins...very unsatisfied with the whole visit. It was end of night and they were vacuuming the booth right next to ours. It was closed to new customers but would of been nice to finish our meal in peace..on a Friday night. And, to top it off the rest of the staff was drinking in the bar. My birthday dinner could and will never return to that establishment...point blank..period!!!

Really, really, really liked this place. Other than my 35 min wait, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Salsa was really tasty, guac was nice--i like being able to get crudite with guac, its how i eat it at home! We got the: butternut squash enchiladas (excellent) chile relleno (pretty stellar) spa chicken (my personal favorite--flavorful unlike any other) For the quality of food, i would have expected higher costs. Great service.
