I have eaten her twice in the past several months and both times I have had incidents with the people working there. I dont know what it is, but they cannot seem to behave themselves. They seem to enjoy belittling customers as a source of entertainment during their work. The food is very good and that is what keeps me coming back every time. The K&W at Tanglewood mall is much better from a customer service standpoint. I used to eat there all of the time when I lived in that area and never had a single problem. I think I will make that drive to Tanglewood when I want to eat there from now on.

The prices here are FANTASTIC for southern style comfort food. They are currently offering a deal where two people can eat for $16.99; that price includes two entrees each getting two sides a drink and dessert. The crowd is usually large families catering to senior citizens and children. Large helpings and good eats. My only criticism is that the wait staff might take a while to refill drinks or clear dishes depending on the business of the restaurant.

Eh, tonight was a bad experience with ol k&w. Food had tht cold, bland, canned generic taste, drink was pure carbonation, no taste, drink server was rude, could barely speak English. After eating half of the shoesole steak I called it quits. As I was leaving the server tht I hadnt seen since seating finally came over. He had the audacity to say "no tip?!" I glared at him saying "I can tip off the immigration!" Will not go back...

Honestly didnt know how to rate then. But I had a horrible experience. There was something unknown in my veggtable that looked like some kind of meat. Even the server was unsure of what it was. My garlic bread was served to me cold. The chicken fingers as well. Not sure what was going on there today but I will never go back to this specific k&w I will go to Salem instead. I use to love k&w but after this I cant say that anymore.

Was met at the take out door by a very pleasant gentleman who shared a hearty "good morning" with a smile on his face. Walked through to the cafeteria where the young lady cooking fresh eggs to order also greeted me with a smile and a friendly "good morning." This was my first time at a K&W, and I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The food is fresh, hot, and more than adequate. I would definitely come here again.

We ate at this restaurant last night, we were in Roanoke visiting relatives. We were in the serving line, making our food selection, and noticed NOBODY behind the serving line was able to speak English. The communication barrier was unbelievable. Trying to communicate with the staff to make a food choice was much more difficult than it needed to be. The food was ok. Sorry we wasted time, energy and $.

I bring my kids ages 9 & 12 here almost every Tuesday because kids eat free. So, for about $8 we all get full bellies. The food is always freshly prepared and never too seasoned. The kids like everything but the desserts. They arent sweet enough for them especially the jello cups. This restaurant gets a lot of seniors so they are aware of dietary issues and offer heart friendly and sugar free items.

My spaghetti tasted like a onion. I swear I had a whole onion in my serving. The corn was old and hard. The garlic bread was old and cold. My water was Icertainly cold that was the only plus. Overall the food was terrible at this location. I will not be returning. I go to tanglewood location and never have this problem.

This is a chain cafeteria style restaurant. It has been around for many years. The food is wonderful and has a home-cooked taste. It is very family-friendly. A lot of elderly people eat here on a daily basis. The staff is friendly. The food is affordable.

Its been a long time since weve eaten here. They have general "down home" comfort food, but the quality is inconsistent. I dont know if they claim the deserts are fresh made or not, but they sure taste like frozen, packaged stuff you can get at Kroger for less.

Staff was nice but food was straight out of a can, incredibly overcooked and had absolutely no flavor. We didnt finish but a few bites each. Guess it must be better than whatever is served at a nearby nursing home as most of the patrons were markedly elderly.

Snap peas were so stringy they felt like chewing dental floss. Spinach had a weird aftertaste. The stuffed bell pepper meat was so full of filler it looked and tasted like a muffin rather than meat. Very dissatisfied and disappointed

Who doesnt love Kanes & Walkers Restaurant?!! I know I do. The food and the older crowd is what gives it the appeal. Its bright and quaint where other restaurants are dim and loud. AND ITS NEXT TO KRISPY KREME!! LOVE IT!

Ive been going to K&W for 40 years and always enjoy what I get. Theres consistency across the chain and you cant beat the chicken pan pie. Im partial to their egg custard pie, too.
