Great atmosphere, recommended! My husband and I enjoy quite a few of the Indian restaurants in Richmond and there are a few in Short Pump, Lehja is a fantastic hip feel. Its very modern decor, and I was a little worried as some other restaurants tend to upcharge drinks when they go a bit modern but their prices were exactly what I expected to pay. Everything on the menu we ordered was delicious. I think their coconut curry scallops appetizers was a bit overpriced ($13 for 4 tiny scallops), still delicious just felt a bit expensive, However that was the only item we thought was a bit off in price. We were very pleased that they do also do traditional dishes and items not necessarily on their menu. My husband is a fan of Saag Gosht (Lamb w/Spinach) but they didnt have it on the menu, but was pleased they could prepare it, and it was some of the best hes had in Richmond :). Will go again, even our friend that doesnt like spicy food enjoyed his Tandoori chicken. Service was very good, give it a try :) I hope they do well. Cant wait til the wine cellar menu is ready that looks impressive :)

Horrible service, horrible waiter, overcharged. The waiter was rude first off. Then she didnt know who ordered what and kept bringing the wrong people the wrong dishes. When it came time to pay she brought one check and dropped it off at the table, when we asked her to separate the checks, she said "no, you didnt ask for them to separated" in a very rude manner. Every restaurant I have gone to the waiter asks if they need to be separated not the other way around. Then finally she agreed on separating the checks, in doing so, we paid then realized that we paid more then the original check. So, we started adding the checks up (in the mean time our waiter starts yelling and fighting with the bartender) and realized that we were overcharged $130. Took us over an hour to pay and get that figured out. The food was actually pretty good though, but never going back.

My husband and I went here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We have had limited experience with Indian cuisine but we are adventurous eaters and decided on trying Lehja after reading all the positive reviews. Let me just say it lived up to the hype. The decor is beautiful, the drinks are delicious (I recommend the rosewater mojito), and the food is to die for. The crispy spinach chaat was one of the most amazing things I have ever put in my mouth, and the husband agreed. The garlic naan was outstanding and out entrees mouthwatering. We both ordered lamb dishes which were very tender and full of flavor. The dessert sampler was okay, I would probably skip it next time and order an extra appetizer instead. It is a bit pricey but for an upscale restaurant it is to be expected. This will be a staple in our special occasion places to dine. Cant wait to go back.

What a wonderful surprise this place was. Im sorry to say I didnt even know there was an Indian place in Short Pump. The smell of aromatic spices hits you when you go through the front door and if you werent already hungry, you will be soon. Our server told us for restaurant week they created a special menu, so I do not believe we can speak to the normal menu. However, the highway chicken curry and lamb portabella lababdar were absolutely delicious. The signature flavors of Indian food were well represented, and there was something comforting and warm about eating all of it. The service was very welcoming and friendly, and the decor in the restaurant was bright and colorful. We cant wait to go back soon!

Lehja is my husbands and my favorite place in richmond. The Gobhi Manchurian is SO good (roasted cauliflower in a delicious tomato-chili sauce)! We always get it! Every time we come we actually let the waiter pick for us, and weve always been very pleasantly surprised with their recommendations. A bit pricey for what seems like not amazing portions, but worth it (and it really does fill you up more than youd suspect). I think this is the best Indian food in town, honestly. And the seating is nice, with booths and open tables, so you can come with a group of friends, or just for a one-on-one romantic dinner. Absolutely love coming here, the food is just spectacular!

I really like this place, for me it is a good restaurant in Richmond compare to others. I agree the food is expensive and quantity is less but the quality of the food is really good and the service is good too. The only draw back I found was with a person, I dont know whether he is a manager or owner but he really talks too much and try to explain about things a lot. Once I went out with my friends and colleagues and we couldnt even spend time and talk to each other because all the time he was with us talking and bragging about the place. This is the only negative feed back I have but apart from this I still visit this place because I really enjoy the food here.

I feel like this place is a private gem with how empty it is sometimes. The food is amazing and very wonderful! Its a little different from most other Indian restaurants though in thats very modern in both atmosphere and food presentation. Its worth it to come with friends and grab a number of the smaller plates so you can try a decent variety of options. The servers are super knowledgeable about the menu so if you tell them what kind of flavors/spice level you normally like they can make some great suggestions! Theyve also done a wonderful restaurant week menu in the past that included a three course meal and an Indian beer. It was a nice treat!

Outstanding experience at Lehja, tonite. We arrived about an hour and fifteen minutes before showtime for a movie we were going to see later that night and asked the host if it was possible to get us out on time for our show. The host informed the waiter, who told the kitchen staff of our situation and we were on time for our movie plans. The staff couldnt have been more kind and they even checked on us frequently to make sure we would make it on time. Oh, and the food was excellent, just the right portions, the right amount of hot and observed promptly. Looking forward to another visit to one of our favorite restaurants in RVA!

We dont typically dine out at Short Pump, as we live in the near West End and most of the options in the far West End are of the Olive Garden variety. We love Indian food and decided to give Lehja a try. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service, interesting Indian fusion menu and very good food. I ordered a sort of Thai-Indian dish with lemongrass, and it was wonderful. My husband had a curry that was very good and very hot. The appetizers were quite good and the naan was stellar - light and fluffy with just the right amount of crispness on the outside... best naan Ive ever had.

My husband and i went there today ...when we were placing our order we were told about todays special soup, then we said that we will have the soup too...and after 10 minutes a guy came, carrying our main course food we did not get any soup ...my husband and i were so hungry that we did not have the patience to ask about the soup then we tasted our food I ordered kofta which was tasty My husband ordered some paneer dish which tasted only paneer cubes in ketchup And the jeera rice were not fresh at all...so over all i didnt have a good experience there.
