The menu is saturated with tasty and delightful fare. The tarragon tuna and curry chicken sandwiches are must-dos. The flavor stays with you like the long finish of a good wine. If youre fortunate enough to not be there on a work lunch, try their White Bordeaux - its an amazing complement to the tuna. The Caturra Club is the favorite among my coworkers - though Ill take the chicken and gorgonzola panini any day. Soups are great. Cheese plate is great. But the cookies will make you weep. They make this cookie called the Royale - its macadamia nuts, some choco chunks, and other things. Im pretty sure theres fairy dust in there as well because its the type of cookie you just dream about. Finally, I would tell you that I would highly recommend the breads and spreads. The white bean is good, the sun dried tomato is better, but the goat cheese and garlic is off the charts. (Luckily they all come with the dish - so you can decide for yourself.) Make sure that you ask for it with a baguette instead of the normal bread (the normal bread is fine, but the baguette comes out hot and theres lots of it). Expect to spend about $40 total if you do 1 app and a 2 sandwiches and 2 glasses of wine (two person lunch). Worth every penny and more. If youre a foodie, it will take you about 15 trips to begin to repeat meals there. (This is IMHO as a person who dines out for 7 meals (3 lunch 4 dinner) per week.)

My wife and I have been going to the Café Caturra Libby and Grove restaurant approximately 2 to 3 times a month since opening. Routinely, a meal included a cheese appetizer, a bottle of wine and a sandwich. Recently, we decided to stop in for a late lunch taking an out of town guest. The restaurant was about half full and as usual we asked for a cheese plate appetizer and bottle of wine. To my surprise we’re told that the cheese plate would not be available despite having all the ingredients in the kitchen. “We’re not able to offer the cheese; we’re too busy” said the lady working at the counter. Both the restaurant and on-line menu offers the “Cheese Charcuterie” appetizer from 11am to 9pm and yet we were told that “it wouldn’t be fair to the kitchen staff to stop what they are doing and provide you with the cheese plate”. It was only about 2 pm. My wife and I enjoy nice restaurants and yet we found it difficult to enjoy a meal when “their needs” become the standard. How could they not provide an item that is on the menu unless they were out of an ingredient? Needless to say, Café Caturra made us feel uncomfortable and we left for another place. Perhaps one day Café Caturra’s customer volume won’t what it is today. As for my wife and me, we’ll move on to another place, a place where we the basics are understood.

Dear Café Caturra, Midlothian, Va. Stopped in at 3:55 pm today, Feb 21st. Are you rationing your food to last through the weekend. My husband and I ordered half a sandwich and cup of soup. When my 1/2 of a vegetable Panini sandwich was delivered, I was taken back by the size. It looked like an hor dourve. It was no bigger than a 1/4 end of slice of bread. Three small bites and I was done. Ive been to your location on several occasions, Ive had this same meal before and I can tell you, this meal was not same. Your soup was great, but your representation of a half sandwich was a joke. Sorry, but you only get 2 stars from me today.

We visited Cafe Caturra for lunch and while the ordering experience was good and the location is nice--- the "grain bowl" I ordered was embarrassingly awful. It was $7 for a cold side salad (cut up veggies with a small amount of quinoa and covered in an oily dressing). If you are going to call something a grain bowl, I would expect a nice serving of grains, with veggies on top, and a light dressing. Because it is counter-service I didnt feel like it was appropriate to return the food. Unfortunately, I dont think I will be back.

Met here for a happy hour with some co-workers. I am more of a beer enthusiast, but this is a location more suited for the wine connoisseur. They did have a decent beer selection for being a wine place, though, so I wasnt too disappointed. The atmosphere was inviting and there was plenty of seating, although it was rather busy and the ordering process wasnt as simple as I would have preferred.

Great food in a great atmosphere at a very reasonable price. Ive always enjoyed this place but walked out once because we brought our dogs and planned to eat on the patio but they didnt have a server for the patio and told us that we would have to order inside. Thats poor service. Hopefully management will open their eyes to that problem. I will be back though.

The new menu is great, atmosphere is nice, but still casual. Great wine and beer selection as well. Café caturra is always on my radar as an option that will please everyone in the group. Parking can be a bit tough as well as general traffic in the area, but they do have a lot in the back. You can usually grab a table even when other places are packed out.

Nice simple food;however for a "cafe" that is what it provides. Simple soups, salads, etc. Prices seem a bit high for the quality and the quantity. If Im going to pay nearly 18 for salmon or steak and some vegetables, I want to feel like its fresh quality food and not just from Kroger. Its all stuff one can make at home very easily.

We were looking forward to trying the Cafe Caturra on Grove for an early dinner. Were seating by the hostess, but after 15 minutes of sitting there without anyone coming over to even take a drink order, decided to turn our menus in and head to Continental. If this is how it is at 5pm, I would definitely steer clear at a busier time.

Way over rated and they were deceptive. The crab crepe was smelley and almost non-edible. Also, I ordered a glass of wine, and they charged me double, stating I received 6 oz. instead of their usual 3 oz. I did not get the 6 oz. so be Aware. You will be disappointed!!

A yuppie sort of place with quality food, if a bit over-priced. Sandwiches and salads dominate the menu, but more substantial fare is available in the evenings. Beer, wine, and cocktails are available. The casual atmosphere and fireplace make for a relaxing evening.

I want to like this place, the fireplace, the decor and the location, but after three attempts at breakfast meals I must say the attitude of the employees is/are very bad. I know people can have a bad day, but after three attempts it may be a pattern.

Recently it has gotten a little over-priced but the food and wine are always good. The experience is the majority of what you are paying for - always a warm and cozy feeling. They will always let you try a wine before purchasing, which is a plus also.

awful. everything about this place makes you wish you were somewhere else. Im pretty sure Applebees has more intelligent/diligent employees. The only difference is these pompous, jerks get payed more. save your money, go microwave something.
