I like Chinese food and always felt that the food was the same at all Chinese restaurants, maybe prepped in a slightly different way, but this place was great. The service is fast and the drinks are always full. They time the meals so that when you finish one course they are ready with the next and it is nice and hot. The food in general is great, the selection is very similar to other Chinese restaurants but the way they prepare and spice this food is great. The General Tso chicken has the right amount of spice that you arent left wanting more, or with your mouth on fire for the rest of the night. The prices are right, and the atmosphere is a more upscale then what other Chinese take out places with a dinning rooms are.

Thats it. Im done. Weve lived here 25 years and weve seen this place steadily go down hill. Last year I ordered take out and when I went to pick it up, I happened to look through the glass window into the kitchen only to see one of the wait staff eating shrimp off the top of our shrimp lo main. I called them out on that, but they didnt do anything. Tonight we finally ordered take out again, and they messed up our order. We ordered garlic pork, but got twice cooked pork instead. And coincidentally, the waiter who helped himself to our shrimp last time was still there...sleeping in a booth in the restaurant. Good bye OPR

I brought my Chinese relatives here based on the great reviews, but we were a little disappointed to find that all of the food was Americanized. Despite this, the food was still decent, tasty, but not particularly memorable. My favorite thing was the Crispy Beef and least favorite was the Walnut Shrimp, which turned out to be more like Sweet and Sour Shrimp (blech!) The portions were very generous, especially the soups, which arrived in giant dishes with crispy wonton chips on the side. My relatives had no complaints. Service was good and the interior is elegant, ambient, and very clean.

Are here for fathers day, but my family has also been eating here and getting take out from here for over 20 years. Ive never had authentic Chinese cuisine like you might get by traveling to Beijing, so the only comparisons I can make are to other US located Chinese food restaurants Ive dined at, and Old Peking is consistently at the top of my list for flavor and service. They always have plenty of seating because their take out business is where a lot of the demands is and the atmosphere in the restaurant is great for quiet conversations.

Love the food at this restaurant -- I have been going since I was just a little kid -- over 18 years! It was rennovated somewhat recently and looks modern and clean. Good happy hour hour menu, 1/2 price house wines and 1/2 price domestic beers. Staff always friendly and helpful and they speak good English. Seems like the quality is much higher than other surrounding Chinese restaurants, and not too salty or over-Americanized like PF Changs. Overall, highly recommended. If you are ever in the Oakton/Vienna check it out.

We have always enjoyed dining at Old Peking. It is never over - crowded, and we have always found the service to be very good. The portions are generous, and the quality is consistent. We always order the same thing, so I cant comment on other menu items. We enjoy visiting well enough that we drive up here from Annandale fairly regularly.

Mediocre at best. Prices are fair, given what the quality of the food is. Service isnt hateful, but theres better nearby. Came back on s Saturday evening. We were the only ones in the place. There were a few carry out orders, but it appears this place is short for this world. Sorry Old Peking, gotta keep up with the competition.

We went to this restaurant on a Sunday after attending church. The restaurant was full when we arrived, and their was standing room only, waiting to get in. We agreed to a 25 minute wait and it turned out that it was well worth waiting for. Although the place was crowded, our server was not at all rushed in interacting

Small sesame chx lunch special .. One order of pork fried rice .. ( they dont have roast pork? ) and 2 tiny cold wonton soups $30 ... And has been in business for 30 yrs ? . If you know real Chinese food , dont go here ... But if you are from here and dont know any better the staff was very nice ! Lol

The waiters are polite and are there if you need them. Ordered lunch special with Walnut Shrimp. The included Hot n Sour Soup was good, with Tofu and other ingredients. Walnut shrimp has good texture, but the sauce was more sour than I like. The walnuts could be a little more crunchy.

I cant say enough good things about this restaurant. I will only repeat what others have said - great ambiance, great service and most of all the best Chinese food I have had in YEARS! It may take me an hour to get there - but to me, it is worth it!!

Good lunch specials. As Chinese food goes it is the place I will go for lunch since in my opinion offers the best in the area around my work in Fairfax. Havent been for anything other than lunch. Never crossed and have quick service.

This would have been an excellent spot, but the service is inconsistent. Some days the food is great, and other days its blah. Its almost like a hit or miss. The service itself isnt great, so I ALWAYS do take away

The best Chinese in Oakton/FFX/Vienna. Consistently delicious. The seafood is always fresh and the dine in experience is top notch. Try the happy family.
