I wont ever be going back here. The food was just ok, but the service was TERRIBLE. My husband and I came in for lunch. The place was busy, but not slammed. We were seated right away, but the server who was supposed to wait on us completely ignored us. He kept walking past us and tending a larger table. We looked at the menu for 15 minutes, and the selection looked good! So we kept waiting without a single server acknowledging us. We were about to walk out when another server asked if wed been helped. She took our drink and appetizer order. Another 10 minutes later, she reappeared with our lukewarm beers and took our food order. We wait another 20 minutes for the pork belly appetizer. It was a little dry and portioned small. When our food came, my husband ordered another drink that never got delivered. But about the food: the beef ribs were huge and good. The half chicken was under seasoned and hiding in their house bbq sauce. The baked beans were delicious. The pork ribs and brisket were tender, but the brisket needs a sauce to go with it. The mac and cheese...oy. Im not convinced it didnt come out of a box. And the corn bread was dry and cold. Basically, the beef ribs and the beans made it a decent meal, but I was generally underwhelmed. At the end of the meal, we waited for another 10 minutes to get our check. All we did was wait around a lot and eat mediocre bbq. I wasnt impressed. But I might get some of their beans to go one night to pair with dinner. Never again!

Went in with 3 other people as part of a group of about 25 for a luncheon last Friday. 2 of the 3 people I arrived with sat at the table next to us and had a different server. Long story short, the two who sat next to us had their food served, ate, got and paid their check before our food even came out. Drinks stayed empty for 20 minutes before we got a sob story from another lady who stated that they were swamped and someone had called out sick. I asked why people who arrived 20 minutes after us (who were also part of our group) got their food already, she said that didnt happen. When I pointed out one of the people, she had no explanation. She should have just been honest and said that she didnt put our orders in, I could have worked with that. A few minutes later another lady came out and said our food would be out in one minute. We said we wanted ours boxed up to go as we didnt have time to stay and eat. 5-6 minutes later, still no food. I think I gave them enough of my time so I left since I had other places I needed to be. I have no idea how much longer it was until the food came out. I called about an hour later and asked to speak with the manager, and after I told him what happened, he had nothing to say. I told him that our group will seriously reconsider if we ever wanted to come back to that restaurant again (we get together there about every other month) and he said "okay" and hung up. Thanks for making the decision that much easier.

This place is amazing! We just went last night and from start to finish our food was delicious! Salty sweet caramel corn is brought to every table to tide you over while you wait for your meal. We had the "frickles" (fried pickles) that were a great blend of spicy and tart with an awesome spicy remoulade. Our entrees didnt disappoint either. We all had a pick-your-own platter. The pulled pork is tender and moist, the ribs are sweet and wonderfully smoky, and the brisket is to die for! One downside was our server...we didnt have the best service...she wasnt the one who brought out our food (as a former server...this is a pet peeve of mine) and she had written down the wrong sides for one of our entrees...the gal who did bring our food took care of the error right away and we got to keep the incorrect sides so we got a chance to sample all the sides they offer. (The mashed potatoes, green beans and cole slaw were our favs.) And we had to wait way too long for boxes and the check. After 15 minutes we addressed it with a manager who was completely apologetic and got our server (the table next to us had been waiting 15 for drinks...yikes!) And we were quickly taken care of with boxes and the check. The manager apologized again on our way out for our less then great service. We assured her that wed be back...mediocre service aside...this BBQ is way too good not to go back!!! The trouble is trying not to go everyday!

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant last night (Friday) it was busy. We are told for a table it would be about 5-10 minutes.. Well after about 20 we got offered a booth on their covered porch. Sure, why not.. We got a picnic table.. It wasnt the warmest night but it would do. We waiting close to 15 minutes to even see a waitress. Finally she came over and took our drinks and we asked to place our order plus our app. We got some sob story hows shes closing it down tonight.... So after she came over another waitress asked if wed been helped we told her what happened and she waved us off and said shell be back...... Almost 45 minutes later our drinks and app came back then she said she was ready to take our order.. Another table left that was under a heater so we asked if we could move and we got major attitude.. Food was meh.. Drinks took forever to get a refill.. Place was dirty. Will not be back.

THE ABSOLTE BEST FOR CATERING AND DINING IN!!! We absolutely adore Smoke BBQ. Whether its the delicious array of side dishes, or the rich smoked meats, you WILL find your next favorite dish here. If the inticing meals arent enough, the atmosphere lends itself to a delightful country-chic restaurant, with all the comforts of a modern eatery. My husband and I used Smoke for our wedding at Norfolk Botanical Gardens. I must say that they were the best and EASIEST decision we made during that whole wedding season. Smoke took care of everything, and was still cheaper than nearly every other vendor. They are truly quality that will not break the bank. They delivered Beautifully on each and everything they promised. As a bride, I wholeheartedly recommend them for ANY event!

Service was okay, like the bartender placed in front of me the bloody mary of the person sitting 2 bar stools away from me after ignoring me and getting my male guest water, hadnt even acknowledged me until I asked whose bloody mary it was. Food was "okay" I wasnt feeling well after I ate the appetizer and could barely finish my sandwich and two side. I finished a half of my smokin Rachel sandwich and boxed of the other half and 2 sides to go. Took it out at 9pm tonight to warm it up. There was a bug in my sandwich. I packed it and hadnt opened it since I was there. Ive ate here so many time. Im disgusted. Will never go back. No wonder I was feeling sick all day.
