My husband and I recently moved to the Hidenwood neighborhood and a friend got us an Azzurris gift certificate, so we decided to give it a try this past weekend. After reading the reviews and hearing our friends enthusiastic recommendation, I figured it was going to be a pretty good place that might become a new local favorite for us. Was I wrong! We order the fried mushrooms as an appetizer, my husband ordered the chicken marsala, and I ordered the shrimp scampi. While the waitress was really friendly and our order came out quickly, the food was anything but good! My husbands dish looked NOTHING like traditional chicken marsala. I dont think it even had a marsala sauce...just lots of oily linguini, soggy red peppers, and a couple bite sized-pieces of bland chicken. My shrimp scampi was the worst Ive ever had. Neither of us took more than a couple bites of our food and then we decided to leave. Luckily, the majority of our $45 check was covered by our friends gift certificate. After reading all the reviews, I have to think the only reason this place has gained any popularity is because of the pizza. In which case, Id be willing to give their pizzas a shot. But whatever you do, avoid any of their pasta dishes! We took our left-overs home and dumped them in the trash.

Worst restaurant ever....to make a long story short my family ordered 2bbq chicken pizzas, baked spaghetti and cheesesticks...they messed up my baked spaghetti and my breadsticks were hard as a rock, pizza was very frugile, i called immediately after discovering that my order was catastrophic, i talked to a young lady i assume was the manager because i asked for one and she said she could help so after explaining that my food was not satisfactory she told me they would remake at no cost...so i call in my order on 7/15/2016 and told her about my remake credit they acknowledged it and said it would be ready in 30 mins so i arrive at the restaurant and when i get there they looked me in my eyes and said u have to pay!!!at this moment im in disbelief that they would lie like this and take my money for food that they originally jacked up....if u are looking for a place to eat i highly advise u do not eat at azzuris they are restaurant thugs and they do not live up to there word...God bless

If you love a great pizza, stop into Azzuri. Ive eaten at every "good" pizza place in Hampton Roads and Azzurri has by far the best. I now try to come in whenever I possibly can. Once a week, they do a never ending pasta bowl for a VERY reasonable price & they ALWAYS have good lunch specials that are reasonably priced and consistently great. The pizza is out of this world through, I promise you that it will by far be the best pizza youve ever tried! On a scale of 1-10, I rate Azzurri as being a 22! My waitress is ALWAYS kindhearted and the service is excellent. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced and within any individuals budget! ,

Blonde Waitress rude as hell and thats as nice as I can put it! Made sub wrong instead of fixing it she scraped off what wasnt supposed to be there and brought right back out. Sub dry and nasty!! If looks could kill!! Never coming again after this visit and not my first but for sure my last!! Still ended up paying over 20$ for a nasty sub and 3 sodas! If it was good would have been fine but when you order something with no banana peppers you dont put them on it. Juice all over cheese and lettuce! Packed to go... Wasted$$$

Nothing like it used to be! Pizza is still eatable where it used to be outstanding; last ordered Italian subs, ate half on the way to work and didnt taste right looked at other half and saw it was only ham so called restaurant and talked to manager and he said "" cooler said he put salami and provolone on it too when Im actually looking at my sandwich!! He basically called me a liar so they will get no more of my business much less anymore of MY MONEY! Loved how they USED to be!

We go here pretty frrequently. The wine list is pretty thin, and they dont know what a corking fee is. Wed go more often if we could bring in our own wine and just pay a corking fee. The food is good, but seems like it is frozen premade stuff. However, it is inexpensive and tastes pretty good. If your looking for simple atmosphere, decent food at an inexpensive price, this is a good spot.

Bar none my favorite itialian restaurant. The pizza is great and the spaghetti is amazing and the portico s are huge! Been eating here for years and will keep eating here for years to come. Its owned by the family that owned Andreas in hampton so if you liked that then give it a try here, you wont be dissappointed.

My family and I have dined in and had delivery. Never a problem and taste is always great and fresh. Ive ordered pretty much one of what seems like everything. Its all been great! Im pretty happy that even if you dont want pizza there is plenty more to choose from.

My family eats there often and has ALWAYS enjoyed it. We even order large take out 9X13 pans of lasagna and baked ziti for get togethers and parties it comes complete with salad and bread. Doesnt get any better than that!!! We have never been disappointed

Dead spider in my pizza. Enough said? I dont know how that pizza got out the door and into my groups hands, but it was disgusting. A bizarre health violation that, as a result, I will NEVER recommend this place to another friend.
