Heads-up, this is a copy and paste form my Yelp review so please understand if it seems repetitive. Now lets get to it! After writing a review of some pretty less than stellar treatment from another restaurant in Middleburg, I began to reflect on some of the excellent experiences Ive had at fooderies (is that even a word?) in western Loudoun. I also remember this old saying about how a happy customer might tell one or two of his friends about their experience but tell as many as ten others about a bad experience. Well, Id like to remedy the fact that I didnt put in a good word for this wonderful establishment earlier this summer when we stopped in for dinner. So, myself and a group of friends totaling 9 people made a last minute reservation back in July after leaving one of the local Middleburg wineries. They asked us what day and time wed be coming in, to which I answered "in about 30 minutes." The hostess on the other end didnt even pause when she told me to come on over and theyll have some tables ready. We were also directed to park around back when we got there. They had plenty of parking and had one of their staff waiting outside to direct us through an events area in the rear of the building (which took us right into a large dining area they had dedicated just for us and also saved us from having to walk around the building). Once seated, the servers were so nice and accommodating. They knew we were a little "lit" from a day of wineries but they were good sports and had fun with us. I wish I could remember names, but its been a coupla months. What I do remember was the smiles, the service oriented attitudes and the charm of the tavern-style dining area. I also remember how tasty my appetizers and entree were. If you want some good food in Middleburg, ya need to stop in to Red Fox Inn. My guests had no complaints and actually thanked me for turning them onto this spot. A couple of them have even been back since. All in all, it was a nice experience that I look forward to frequenting Red Fox again in the Fall. Excellent work Red Fox Inn, and thanks for taking good care of us!

My family and I dined here the first night of our trip. This was by far the best meal weve had in Middleburg. There are nothing but good things to say about the food. Everything was prepared with attention to detail and all meats were cooked perfectly. The only words of caution I would put forth are that the A/C in this place does not work well and we were baking in there, as it was a warm and humid June night. I asked about the A/C and was told there was nothing that could be done. Im sure this wouldnt have mattered so much if the kids werent with us. The other thing was that our server was badly "in the weeds" and we didnt see him for the final 25 minutes of our dinner before we had to leave because of a fussy baby. Perhaps they werent expecting such a busy night on a Wednesday. Overall we enjoyed it and would give it another chance for a date night.

I would have given the Red Fox Inn 5 stars for a really warm, beautiful and historic B&B experience, but theres one thing that left a bad taste in my mouth and reduced our experience to one star. Within the one night stay at the inn, we went downstairs to the restaurant for dinner, to find that there was a flat price - closed menu for the evening (which isnt un-common, or un-heard of). We had requested to only order a couple things off the 3 course menu and were repeatedly told that we werent allowed to do this and understandibly, this is probably what the matradee was told to say by the manager, but hotels/B&Bs can always make small acceptions for guests, as opposed to regular restraunt patrons.

Absolutely horrible service. Worst place Ive ever had the displeasure of experience. Made reservations a week in advance for a birthday celebration. Once we finally arrived the hostess explained we would be split into two different tables virtually on opposite sides of the restaurant. There were plenty of spaces available but regardless of how many times we requested, they would not seat us together, they even said they wouldnt explain to us why we couldnt sit in the open tables. NEVER go to this place unless you want your intelligence insulted and your dignity defiled.

Red Fox is a gorgeous Revolution period inn with great food and an amazing ambiance. I took my parents in since they were visiting from Texas, and we had a great time. It really transports you to another time, with the exposed brick, wooden beams overhead, and old school wood bar. We had the biscuits and gravy which was good, and the vegetarian omelette, which was even better. The sauteed veggies were perfectly spiced. Id definitely go back, maybe on a date.

First time having dinner here. Made reservation for 7pm Aug. 2nd and when we arrived, the Hostess couldnt find our reservation. After some searching she found us under Aug. 1st!! I thought "this isnt going to be good." But luckily they werent busy and seated us right away. The atmosphere was perfect, service was great and the crab cakes were 5-star!! Loved the veggie gratin and lemon caper cream sauce under the crab cake. Would definitely go here again.

We stopped at the Red Fox Inn on a whim after a day of wine tasting and couldnt have been happier. Everything the party ordered was delicious with the peanut soup and fried chicken being some of the stand outs. This is also a great stop for whiskey fans! Just make sure you have dinner reservations for the weekend if you want to eat in the main dining room. Otherwise theres still a self seating area upstairs.

Our visit last week to the Red Fox Inn was wonderful!!! When we arrived, fresh cookies were waiting in the room with bottled water and ice in the bucket. They seem to have thought of everything. The breakfast was included in the cost and could not have been any better, the staff was very friendly and always helpful. I enjoyed walking around town and going into the shops. You are surrounded by history!!

We had dinner there one weekend not to long ago. The staff is very friendly and the food was amazing. It was my first time eating there, but would feel safe saying that I bet the food is made that excellent every time. I love the history of the place and the feel you get from being in the building. It is pricey, but to visit for a nice night out once in a while, it is worth it.

Went to brunch here and had a really nice time. Good selection of drinks including various coffees, cocktails, beer, and wine. The brunch is from a set menu that is either two or three courses. Did the three course option and really enjoyed everything I had even though I read completely stuffed in the end. Would definitely return and recommend. Had no complaints at all.

The buyer was overpriced and average taste. I was expecting more flavor. The sides were great. Had the sweet potato fries and biscuits. I would eat those sides again. The pecan pie with ice cream dessert was really good. That was worth the drive. Nice ambiance and decor. Service was also good. I would come back and try other items from the menu.
