Took my wife here for Valentines Day before going to The Opera House. We were late for our reservation due to the weather, which was our fault so this is why I didnt complain too much when we were there. We did call and let them know we would be late. They were very polite and the service was great. Portion sizes were good too. My wife ordered the steak (they called it something else). It was cooked exactly the way she wanted it, medium. I had a bite and it was good. I ordered the pulled pork BBQ. The first thing I noticed with it was the VERY vinegar taste. So much so it took my breathe away the first bite. I usually like more sweet BBQ but I should have asked and the menu should have said it was a vinegar based BBQ. We finished and I asked for a box. When I was putting the slaw into the container, I discovered a VERY long hair in my food (my hair is very short). I left it like it was and told the waitress and she took the container and plate and said she would take care of it. She brought back a new container with a smaller portion of what I had left over. We then got the check with nothing taken off. Most other places would have not charged for the hairy food. We wont being back.

We really wanted to like this place. The ambiance was great and the service was excellent, our waitress even recommended a great beer that I never would have picked, but very much enjoyed nontheless. Unfortunately, both our meals were disappointing. I ordered the bistro filet, cooked medium. What was brought out was five small pieces of beef, the ends were charred, the meat was very well done and dry and overall pretty tasteless. My wife ordered the coconut shrimp. It wasnt bad, but one word of advice: a little bit of the curry sauce goes a long way. Unfortunately the rice was drenched in sauce which made it pretty much inedible. In the end, this meal caused me to do two things I never do: the first was tell the waitress how bad the meal was. The second was that after spending $60 on dinner, I was just as hungry as when I came in and was forced to stop by McDonalds for a burger on the way home! Maybe just a bad night in the kitchen, and hopefully our experience was just bad luck. We had heard great things about the place and really wanted to like it.

The customer service and atmosphere were very nice. The menu selection was a bit limited and even though it wasnt very busy, it took 40 min for our 3 meals to come out (our appetizer came out with our main course). All of the dishes looked BEAUTIFUL . The burger was just OK... 80% bun (6/10). Salmon was good (7/10). Filet was about 4 Oz of steak, 5 asparagus stems, and about a dozen fries.. for $19. The flavor was just ok, but Im guessing it was (over)cooked first and sat for awhile.. it came out cold (4/10). We got a basket of tots too.. clearly the frozen variety from a bag that they fried and threw a little cheese over.. (5/10) This place definitely spends their time on trying to look nice, and it shows.. Everything looked fantastic . The staff was very polite, but a tad slow. The sad thing was quality was almost an afterthought. Ill probably give them another shot, maybe just for drinks and an appetizer or 2.

Wait staff/hostess/bartender outstanding service. Food not up to par I ordered the filet which I was informed was subsituted for London Broil which no problem I enjoy all cuts of meat. I ordered it rare it came out medium for the 2 of the 4 pieces and medium well to done on the ends. The waitress asked me if the steak was cooked right it was not but she informed me when ordering it was the last in the house so I wasnt going to complain plus she provided outstanding service. Overall food quality was something I would expect from a chain restaurant and not the niche I was looking for from a restaurant that was ranked in the top 50 for farm to table. The price was fair service was awesome however I felt there needed to be more attention to the food preparation. Next time in town we will go a different direction.

The first time I came here, I had a good experience. The service was good and the food was good. The second time I came here will be my last. The dish I ordered had the wrong things on it, as in, what it said it had on the menu was not on it when it came out, and even with the wrong things on it, was not out together well at all, it was very sloppy. My sisters dish came with fries and she received 5 of them. Literally 5. Her entree was crab cakes and it was two crab cakes the size of sand dollars, and a tiny side salad. This was for $16. Our server was very nice and provided great service but the food sealed the deal for me not returning to this restaurant. I am disappointed, especially since my first experience was good and I convinced my sister to go here with me, promising her the food was good.

I have been a regular at Domestic for years - I love the food and the atmosphere - Im a local that stops in all the time and brings family and friends. The last three times Ive been in Ive been met by hostesses that have have told me first that they couldnt take reservations for a large party of 8 - when I stopped by the restaurant was mostly empty....the last two times Ive stopped by with a party of three and been told I couldnt be seated without a reservation prior to 7pm - even though there are many tables empty. Domestic youve lost my business and local support - I dont understand your new seating policies because for years Ive always been able to stop by and get a table - I dont understand this any longer.

Waited 15 minutes to be seated, waitress ignored us until I asked if it was a self seating style restaurant. Once we were seated, we sat for another 15mins before they took our drink order. The tables were so close together I had to sit at the corner of our table. They got one of our drink orders wrong, then stood at the neighbors table chatting about tattoos while we waited another 10mins for a sweet tea, that turned out to be ginger tea instead. A few cheese burgers and a fish sandwich took 40 mins. The cook/proprietor was kind enough to comp our drinks however, and the burgers were quite good.

This restaurant deserves all the wonderful reviews it has. We came for lunch after visiting Antietam. Service was attentive and provided recommendations on the menu. We ordered: Huevos Rancheros - delicious, not oversized, lots of flavors Lamb pita - Great, good seasoning, was explained as a hipsters take on this, but didnt really get it Beet salad - Great lunch portion, good flavors, maybe a little overdressed, but the dressing was delicious Fried PB&J - Explained as a mix between a PB&J and french toast Overall, this place was great.

We wanted to like this place too. Decor seems to be juuust missing something to put it over the edge to a really nice place to eat. Candles at the table maybe. But what really shocked us was how TINY the SERVINGS were. I mean, TINY. Ridiculous. Like a snack. My steak was decent, all six pieces of it, and his cod (nondescript) barely filled the palm of MY hand, let alone his. We felt so let down we had to go order Chinese next door so we didnt go to bed hungry. Just really unacceptable. Sweet staff, but doesnt make up for the rest.
