Called ahead to this restaurant and they said there was a wait. We got there and they honored our call ahead. Yay. We get to our table. Server comes up, "what would you like to drink?" --no greeting, nothing. Water and sweet tea-- came back just fine. Yay. Server--"what would you like to eat" us- "we arent ready just yet" -- walks away. Comes back 5 mins later-- we order. We got up to the salad bar then head back to the table. Half way through the salad, the food comes out.... a bit soon to be honest. The food was really unpresentable. It looked nothing like we have seen. It was pretty sloppy. My food tasted okay, I had herb crusted fish ad I didnt notice it wasnt cooked until my date who had another seafood dish was RAW. You could barely cut through it, it wasnt falling apart at all, it was awful. Server-- never came back to ask about our food or ever fill up our drinks. I had to flag her down and tell her about it which she took away from the table. We didnt want to reorder anything else. When she comes back with the check-- she says "Im so sorry that happen to you, the same thing happen to me when I ordered that dish" "...... um what!? That is not what you say to customers. Throughout the night servers were sitting at tables and chatting. We even overheard one waitress telling her customers how wheezy and sick she was...... this place was a mess. I would not recommend it to anyone. The best service we had all night was from the male hostess at the end of the night who held the door for us.

Our burgers were extremely burnt and our fries were way too salty. I like my burgers burnt and I like salty fries, so for ME to say that there is a problem... I had to asked for napkins twice and our waitress brought us 2. I only asked her for 2 things the whole time we were there but from the faces she made it was like I was asking for blood and after our meal finally arrived she disappeared. It took forever for anything to come to our table. The host and management were nice and management comped our meal because it was such a horrible experience. However, if wait staff and food are bad it leaves guests not wanting to return.

Had a fairly raw hamburger tonight and my wife had chicken in her pasta that was cooked into rubber hockey puck. It seems like there is always something at this restaurant whether it is the service or the food. I have pushed it off my list of places to eat and apparently many others have too looking at the attendance. The oddest thing about my visit was one of the managers came over and asked me how my food was. I said it was mediocre at best. He walked away.... What kind of manager does that?

I love to go out of my way to RT. I will travel to get away from the restaurant clusters at strip malls. The salad bar is always clean and fresh. Although it has a limited variety of items, I still get up for 2nds. I enjoy the Managers and their are a few new servers that are just Stellar. Price is always right and I love a good Ruby Relaxer (drink) if its made right. Employees attitudes and service rains down from the top.. so if yo have a manager that is lax it will radiate to the employees.

I always want to like this restaurant but typically leave feeling disappointed. The food is average and the service never seems to impress. There is so much more potential here but the ball seems to get dropped consistently. Location is good, access and parking are very good. With the alternatives all doing a good job and being located withing a couple miles (Applebees and Fridays), there isnt much of a reason to eat here and have a lesser experience for similar menus and price.

Outback across the street was a 40 min wait.. RubyT sat us immediately. Margarita to start out. Wife had the 8oz sirloin with Caesar and a baked potato. Salad was tasteless but the steak and tater more than made up. I got the smokehouse bacon burger which rocked.. Quiet classic rock mixed with some Adele.. Nice. Finished off with a big slice o cheesecake. Great service and good pricing. News says RubyT up for sale soon..?

While the food from the kitchen was decent in glad I opted out of the salad bar. The whole time we were eating we observed a lady set aside 7 plates that were all dirty, the salad bar attendant standing around adjusting his hat, putting hands in pockets, playing on phone, and touching the walls, and going straight yo the bar to flick off some sort of food particle on the top plate... All while wearing the same gloves!

I was not happy with my visit and will not be returning. We came on a Tuesday because kids eat free. The restaurant just did not appear clean. Our table and chairs just seemed sticky icky. The service was slow. Everything took forever, from getting our drinks, to food, to getting our check. Menu options are limited and my shrimp meal was not good. Seemed to be fried in old grease. No thanks for returning.

7/26/ was my birthday. So my husband and I decided to go to Ruby Tuesday. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The manager even escorted me to the table. The patrons were nice as well. One lady actually gave me a coupon for a free appetizer because she heard it was my birthday. The food was hot and delicious. Rachel, our waitress was awesome.

Food was ok nothing to complain about there. However, it took awhile for the waitress to take our order. Where are the people? Was it pack? No!! This was during lunch. The worst part of it all, they charged me twice. When I looked at my bank account, I was like OH NO THEY DIDNT!!! Either not going there again or just wont use my bank card.

We enjoy Ruby Tuesday mainly because of their nice salad bar. It could be better, but its nice to put on a salad whatever I want and to get my own mix that I have a hankerin for when I visit, which may be slightly or totally different the next time I visit. And the food has been what we expect from there. We definitely recommend it!

Excellent--food was very good, service by Meagan Brown was excellent, the manager was responsive to turning the cool air down so it wasnt blowing on us. We will go back. Remember to tip on the total of what your bill would have been without the discount so the server doesnt get the short end of the coupon stick.

The service was very slow it took almost thirty minutes before I got my. I got 730 left almost to 9 I got mad and left without my dessert one guy came for take out order and had is food lest they ten minutes I know wont be back

Love Ruby, but hit or miss on service depending on time of day. Decently priced food thats fresh for a chain. Great happy hour prices for apps 3-6 and 9-close and a $5 cocktail menu that always runs.

Go here about twice a week, the Steak will out do Outbacks and costs less, the Salad Bar has won the 2017 Best Salad Bar RVA, Happy Hour is a plus, the Tai Phoon shrimp is a great appetizer.
