Outstanding in all ways. Both the food & service are fantastic. For people interested in exploring the Virginia Countryside, The Field & Main restaurant is a nice respite. Youre just a short distance outside of DC. Most important are the proprietors, Neal & Star. They treat their patrons with that special loving care. They know a lot of the local area especially the wineries. If you want to taste some of the local fruit of the vine just ask Neal. Hell ask me "Where do I want to go" , & then pick an applicable bottle for me to enjoy. The Field & Main is a must stop while youre in the beautiful Virginia Countryside. Toby Beach

The decor was nice and everything sounded good on the menu but all the food we ordered was pretty mediocre especially considering the price. Expect better quality when spending around (and over) 50 bucks per person on a meal. This place has potential but the food has got to come first if you want to be that kind of restaurant-otherwise people wont come back. Maybe we ordered the wrong stuff but sort of disappointed.

An excellent dining experience. The food was interesting and delicious. First, the sour dough bread from Red Truck Bakery was warm and moist. The gnocchi had a wonderful lobster mushroom sauce. My pork chop was charred, moist, and delicious. The staff was both attentive, friendly, helpful, and warm and not intrusive. The environment was relaxing. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We sat at the kitchen viewing area. There was no wait. Very bright and hip. Menu was pretty well put together. Had a brief conversation with the executive chef about items they were making and the overall menu. There is a bar upstairs that we didnt get to but it has separate food offerings. We will be back to check it out.

This place is excellent! The food was fabulous and the staff are very attentive yet not intrusive. Read about it in The Week magazine and gave it a try for my wifes birthday. I got bonus points with the wife it was so great! They even took a picture of us and gave it to her as a birthday gift.

The food, the food, the food. Great atmosphere. You will feel comfortable casual or slightly dressed up. If you like to try a variety of tastes recommend the "Feast" plenty of food for 2. Cant go wrong with doing the wine pairing. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Great food, fantastic location, and very friendly and helpful staff. Wine list is better than usual for a small town, and wine prices are really good. Food ranges from basic preparations to inventive interpretations, and is always of the highest quality.

Excellent food and very accommodating service. Takes a lot of standard dishes – at least by their title – and elevates them to a unique experience. Ate there for a Thanksgiving meal and am looking forward to trying their daily menu on another visit.

Came for brunch,the dining room is simple and sophisticated, we recieved great service and the food was well worth the trip. We were intrigued by everything on the menu, nothing resembles this in Winchester, we will be returning for dinner!

I think the "gastropub" description on the Google map is a bit misleading. The place and menu definitely makes it a restaurant with an impressive menu. Loved the deviled eggs and roasted beet appetizers
