One of the best compliments we can give any business is to send our customers there. When we recommend the Machipongo Trading Company we know that the only thing better than their coffee is their service. If youre lucky enough to catch Kristen & Jamie at the shop youll learn more about the Eastern Shore than you ever thought you wanted to know. But everyone at MTC is fun, friendly, and ready to go out of their way to make sure that your experience in their little shop is one youll never forget. So do yourself a favor while youre cruising down Route 13 and stop to smell the roses... or at least the coffee roasting at the Machipongo Trading Company. Youll go away with a smile on your face an a taste of the Shore in your bio-degradable cup.

Sadly, I dont live close enough to go here all the time. My friends and I were introduced to their smoothies after an afternoon of kayaking with Margaret from SouthEast Expeditions. She had suggested we stop and so we did... and it was the perfect refresher for us! Friendly staff, large menu, and local goodies (food and artisan creations) for sale make for a nice place to stop. We liked it so much we stopped there for lunch a couple of days later and picked up some treats to take home - the coffee beans will extend our vacation memories for quite a while. Do no hesitate to drop on in if you are in the area!

I dropped into Machipongo Trading Company for coffee while traveling along the Eastern Shore this past weekend. It may look like just another roadside shop from the outside, but the coffee here is some of the best I have had ANYWHERE. I later found that they roast their own coffee beans, and it certainly shows in the flavor of their coffee. You wont find a Starbucks on the Eastern Shore, and as long as MTC is around, you wont want to! In addition to coffee, they also have made to order wraps and sandwiches that are also pretty good. This place is definitely worth checking out.

I cant say enough about how great this place is. The owners and staff are so caring and friendly and you can feel it as soon as you walk in. Its a laid back stop with all the right stuff. I absolutely love their coffee! I even buy it to make at home. They have a great full healthy menu that makes me wonder why people would EVER eat fast food. They have a wonderful sense of community and do a fantastic job of supporting local businesses and artists. So, get out of your car, stretch your legs and go on in. Youll be so glad you did.

The Machipongo Trading Company is just the kind of place that makes you glad you stopped by. Its a little bit "artsy", but also down to earth. While good coffee, teas, smoothies, and high quality eats are a big part of this place, I also like the intimate seating area, with lots of local brochures and info scattered about. Stop on by , relax on the sofa for a while, sipping warm coffee or cool tea, catch up on Eastern Shore happenings, enjoy the friendly staff, bring home a special treat. It will make you smile.

"Any place with that many local plates parked out front has got to be good." - Every Travel Writer Ever 100% true. There is nothing negative to say about MTC. From the friendly service and the great atmosphere to the local wines and microbrews, all the way up to the local artisans craft on the wall - this place is great. Very well worth your time to pull off 13 and enjoy this one-of-a-kind gem. Who knows, it may even be your gateway to all the rest of the best ESVA has to offer.

A place like this should be everywhere, but if there was a place like this everywhere it wouldnt be so special. Small town meeting place, local craft beer distributor, full service coffee shop, etc. The people there were nice, not just the staff, everyone. Theres local art for sale on the walls and a nice half room off to the side where people can chat or read or whatever. Nice porch to enjoy your coffee on. Generally worth the stop on your way through.

Kristen and Jamie are fantastic! While theyre original claim to fame is their small-batch, locally roasted coffee (we serve our own private label of their coffee), it is by no means their only excellent product. I love their smoothies, paninis, assorted local specialties and their very own roasted peanuts. Above all, they shine in customer service. We love having them here on the Shore. Thanks, Lisa and Kris (The Inn at Onancock)

A wonderful coffee shop with breakfast and lunch sandwiches, pastries, and baked goods. Very affordable as well - $2 fot a 20oz cup of drip coffee. They roast their own coffee and it is very fresh! You can get your food and drinks to go or chill out in the cafe. Also a great place to pick up local beer, snacks, and candies. So yummy! I wish it was right down the street from me. ♡

Not big enough. The flies are bad sitting next to the wall smells like mildew. The tables are so close a large person could not sit inside. The staff needs to be more cleaner you CAN NOT wipe the tables off and then the seats then take the same cloth and do the next table people rear ends are NOT CLEAN.. I HAD A BBQ FROM THERE AND I HAD A LUMP IN MY Throat for 2 days and heartburn

Adorable little place weve passed many times, finally stopped. We will be back next time we are passing through. Lattes were very good, and the baked goodies ( chocolate chip cookie, lemon pound cake ) were AMAZING. Next time plan to stop for lunch, the menu looked promising (pimento cheese panini? Oh heck yes)

Great gluten free options for my wife. We had a delicious gf hummus spinach wrap. We even saw they sold Omission beer, the best gluten free beer around. We were also impressed with the local produce as well. The coffee was delicious, too. Quick and friendly service, it was a nice stop on our long drive.

Last April we drove from Virginia to Vermont. This stop was the highlight of our trip! We got coffee, fresh roasted nuts, awesome smoothies and other goodies to keep us going on the long trek northward. This store is truly an oasis of good food and forward-thinking business practices. Highly recommended!

The Machipongo Trading Co. is one of the best stops along Route 13 on the ESVA. If you want a quality coffee, a homemade sandwich or smoothie, or just to look around at their local merchandise, it is the place to go. Great staff, very helpful. Stop in here as often as you can!
