Great Harvest is a Herndon institution even though its a franchise. They offer free servings of bread -- theyre to big to be called samples -- together with honey, butter, and jam. The breads tend to be heavy, but their country white bread and challah loaves are quite good for those of us who like our bread a little lighter. Their Virginia (dinner) rolls are a respectable runner up to my mothers dinner rolls, which are the best in the world.

I absolutely love love love this place! I have had the Apple Scrapple, whole wheat, white cheddar garlic, red, white and blueberry scones, and blueberry muffins, and they are all to die for! The Apple Scrapple is my all time favorite! You have to try this place! The only complaint I have is when I called in my order both times, the person on the phone wasnt terribly nice. When I went into the store though, no one was rude.

Great Harvest has the best breads and along with desserts, cookies and breakfast breads! My husband does not like wheat bread but he loves their bread! They mill their own wheat with an old stone mill to not burn the wheat while its being milled. I dont know if that is what makes it taste so good but whatever it is its working!

Good bread but their changing their schedule every month is a big PITA- getting your favorite bread moves from a weekday to the weekend, for example, or vice versa. Is there any compelling business reason to reshuffle the schedule so frequently? For customers its just one more monthly schedule speed-bump to have to deal with.

Great bread and I love their red white and blue , apple scrapple, garlic feta, and my favorite is plain old fashion white. The scones are amazing too, must try cinnamon roll$3! Everything here are terrific. Wish they were open sundays and prices were cheaper. Minus 1 for that.
