The fish was very fresh and nice. So was the blue crab tempura. Thats the best thing I can say. My husband & I ordered the sushi/sashimi combos, my MIL got sushi combo, and my FIL got hibachi veggies & fried rice. I ordered blue crab app, my hubby and FIL ordered shrimp shumai app. MIL, no app. For the sushi, it was all ngiri, no maki. Since samplers are chefs choice, this means that the sushi chefs were lazy and just felt like plopping fish down on top of clumps of rice instead of exerting themselves by making rolls. Nothing special there. And the service was very slow. Admittedly, we went on Mothers Day and it was packed, so that could be why service was bad. But heres the order in which we were served the food: 1) husband, FIL, MIL got their soup/salad. wait 20 minutes, and 2) MIL got her entree. Another 5 minutes, then 3) I got my salad/app. 10 more minutes, and 4) FIL got his entree. Then 5) hubby & I got our entrees. Afterwards, 6) hubby and FIL got their appetizers. so, the entrees & appetizers & salads all came out at random. And our waitress said thats how it always is. Stuff comes out in completely odd and random order. Frankly, thats just bad kitchen management. Food was good but service wasnt worth the money, and we wont be going back.

While their sushi bar may seem a tad expensive at times, as compared to the others I frequent, their primary focus as a hibachi grill with performing flair is a constant win. To be honest, my friends and I only usually go when there is a large group of us getting back together, but that doesnt diminish their overall appeal. Youll almost always have a box to-go, unless you want to try to stuff yourself food with all of the grilled veggies, rice, and protein(s) of choice. 9/10 we have gotten a chef who really wants to put on a good show, and generally those stick out in your mind while any non-performer experiences slip by the wayside. My friends also quite love their flaming volcano drinks, so if you feel like taking on a big drink, please have one.

I came just for the sushi bar and it was fantastic, the waitress a red head in a awesome Japanese outfit was polite and attentive. The hibachi cook even came over to see if everything was okay or if I needed anything else. Now we lose a star because my waitresses shift was over and the female owner Ha let me set there for 20 minutes and wouldnt even come over when I flagged her down. Finally got my check and paid, as I was leaving she started to holler I didnt pay for my sashimi, I had to help her read my PAID bill witch clearly had me charged for the sashimi. Learn some people skills and how to read a bill before you embarrass a customer!!! Should be -2 stars.

I am a regular here, and this place has made me a fan of sushi. I love the hibachi, too, but I keep going back for the sushi; the Miami, Eyeball, and Philadelphia are my favorites. The staff is friendly and remembers to ask after my children and other friends they have seen me with. They know my favorites and can often guess what I want before I know myself. I highly recommend this place for casual lunches or more formal get-togethers!

My first time eating at Hana Sushi was last night. I was not disappointed! The food was excellent and watching it being prepared in front of me was great entertainment. Ive always wanted to stop in but was afraid I would not like it. I am sorry I waited so long. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going back again very soon.

By far the best Hibachi and sushi in the 804 & 757!!! Weve been coming here for at least 10 years and still plan to keep coming!!! Service is always great- food is superior to all that try to compete and the prices are where you expect them to be. Highly recommended- a must check out and a hidden gem

One of our favorite restaurants, no, the favorite, in middle peninsula. King, the Sushi Chef, is better than those in CA. He is now also working on MBA @ W&M. We remember when he was starting out at CNU, while working nites @ Hana. Be sure to get the Stuffed Avocado + Dragon Roll.

Wife and I like to eat their on special occasions, we generally get sushi and are very happy with the taste and quality of the food for the price. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful despite in the last few months having gone through a number of new hires.

Best sushi and hibachi Ive ever had. The prices are always lower than any other sushi place. Most special rolls are $9.95. I used to work there and I can tell you the owners and their family really care about their employees and restaurant.

Great food the Hibachi is always enough for two, favorable and cooked perfectly. The Sushi is besides Keros the best around. The prices are fair and the service outstanding. I do wish they had bigger portions on the Sushi.

Husband loves this place a lot. Closest place that we think beat it is in Richmond (havent gone down to VA beach or Norfolk yet). So in other works we will be picking this over almost all the sushi/hibachi places around.

I enjoyed it for my first time to hibachi. Good service, friendly, attentive! Busy atmosphere but enjoyable. Food was Good! Chef was attentive and great at making sure he cooked and served what you liked. I would go back!

Wish there was less than 1 star. Horrible service, even offensive. Any other hibachi will do better than this. Btw the fillet only comes one way and that is WELL and cannot be sure its fillet.
