I had a great time at Pho79. The first thing Id like to say was that I was pretty impressed with the decor and the friendliness of the staff. They came off personable and interested in their customers. They asked us questions about our meals and helped us first times decide what wed like. For me, the Pho Beef was amazing, I absolutely loved the flavor. It wasnt the best thing Ive ever had, but I would be sad if I never had it again. The next thing Id like to point out is that the appetizers were all amazing; though only 2 pieces of shrimp in the rolls seems a bit stingy. This would be a 5 star experience if they werent stingy with the shrimp in my friends shrimp Pho and of course they didnt bother to remove the shrimp tails making eating the soup a little work. Still the overall experience was a positive one for me, there bathrooms were also very clean. If I made a suggestion it would be better ventilation... it was incredibly hot inside the place, but cool in the bathrooms. You could feel the air, but it wasnt enough...

Updated review, increased to 4 star: We ordered the spring rolls, appetizer sized pho 1 and large pho 3, and a Thai iced tea flavored boba smoothie. It came to just under 30 bucks. Service was much better. Very attentive. Served quickly. Food was good. Spring rolls came with Hoisin sauce, not peanut sauce. Broth was tasty, veggies for pho were all a bit wilted but not too bad. The large size seems a bit small to be called large. Thai Bubble/Boba tea was very good. If you are in Hampton and want some Vietnamese this is your only choice. We will probably be back although it is a bit pricey for what you get.

Took two other friends for lunch, one complained of how the meat in the soup was still stuck together and the noodles in his soup were still stuck together. The second friend complained of the waitress forgetting what he ordered. I asked for the meat on the skewer to be beef; and I was brought chicken. The food was okay, but appeared as if it was made last night, and from the Jefferson restaurant. The coffee came with extra coffee grinds in the coffee. Overall it was an ok experience, and we will be going to the Jefferson Ave shop instead. I didnt return the food or make a scene. I tipped normally and left.

This is some very nice Vietnamese food. There are the flavors unique to Vietnam present in each dish, and the variety is nice. I would suggest the chicken pho to someone having Vietnamese food for the first time; the unfamiliar flavor is present, but light. The bubble tea is a very nice dinner drink, and interesting well. There is a full service bar. They have booths that could seat 8, and are very comfortable for 6. The décor is nice, affording an intimate feel even when the dining area is full. The service was good, though not stellar. Total time for dinner was under an hour.

Love this place, they have great egg rolls. The lemongrass pork skewers are a favorite, also the wonton and egg noodle soup is really good, dont forget to ask for the satay tray (lemongrass chili sauce). When Im on the go Ill grab a bang mi to go, the baguettes are crunchy and I love the Vietnamese lunch meats and pate -- everything is totally homemade. Strongly recommend.

The pho 79 on coliseum drive is horrible!!! I was there with a party of 4 and the service was terrible! The waitresses were rude and the food service was extra slow. A lot of people walked out and complained about this place! One customer also complained of seeing a roach, I didnt see it but I did hear it. Definitely wont be going back to this location!

This is a local hangout with the most awesome BBQ! Our family goes there for special events like birthdays and holidays and whenever we can! Lol. I can recommend this restaurant without hesitation and it is accessible for the handicapped. My dad is in a wheelchair and they have a ground floor door they can open, very accommodating.

This was an awesome experience for me. The food was AMAZING, the service was great, the ambiance was nice and the staff was very helpful and courteous, great prices. The chicken and shrimp soup with the best chicken broth I have ever encountered! Will definitely go again soon!

Great food and great service. The pho is piping hot and very flavorful. The inside decor is very unique and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Great beer selection and has a bar inside with huge flat screen TVs. Try the egg rolls they are crispy and delicious.

The service is inconsistent. There was no one in the restaurant and I was made to wait a long time. When I expressed concern management spoke to me as if it were my fault. They took no accountability for the terrible dining experience I had.

Decent Vietnamese food with a typical menu selection for this type of restaurant. Atmosphere was warm and modern. The food was hot and well prepared, but was just ok in presentation and flavor. Wait staff was somewhat aloof but courteous.

I would say it is tasty. All things considered a bit pricey. But i cannot speak for the rest of the foods on the menu. I had Pho. To their credit other foods being brought out looked fantastuc and smelled delicious.

Ive been here on several different occasions and they always seem to be out of something on their menu. The place just doesnt seem to be managed all that well compared to the Newport News location.

I had the Lemongrass marinated Shrimp and my wife had the Bahnni Pork sandwich. Both were good. We ate during the mid afternoon so not much traffic and the food came out quickly.

Ordered unsweet tea twice, got sweet tea twice, every table was empty, got the table with the blender behind my head, the food was good but we got the worst possible service.

Love it! True to the flavors of Vietnam. I work in Hampton on occasion and used to drive to Newport News to get my fix. So glad they opened one here and its just as good.

Great food, could have had more rice, food took long to cook with only a few other guests in the restaurant. Very chilly inside so bring a jacket, Ill be back either way.

The Pho #4 and the pork sandwich that advertise both made a great pairing for a couple to split! The service was good! But be sure to get the Chili sauce! It is very good!

Good place to go with decent prices. Just confusion amongst waitstaff when it comes to paying the bill. Sometimes they take it sometimes you have to go to the register

Great seasoning on the pork, chicken & steak. Rice was cooked perfectly. Very knowledgeable & friendly waitstaff if youve never had Vietnamese food before.
