Service is good if you are lucky to get 2 certain wait staff. I really do not like being seated by someone who is busy studying there phone. I also like to know if I am going to be pass off to someone else. The decor is a sterile as some of the staff. They still are all over the place and seem lost. My favorite is she one of the 3 waitress I had give me my pancakes and there is food on the butter container. I ask what is this? She plays with it, sniffs it and tasted it. Not a good sign. IHOP has gone 24 hours I will go there for a pancake fix. $2.50 for 6oz of coke for a waitress that goes MIA. 1 I used to be a waiter, so I left a tip but it should be for the poor woman he did not even have my section. The cashier was to busy trying to be cute than listen to a word I was saying then had nerve to ask me to repeat myself. I would not go back!

We arrived just after 11:00 a.m. today, Sunday. There is a large waiting area, but we were seated quickly even though others were waiting, too. Our waitress was sweet, helpful and efficient. They have a dish that is 3 pancakes, bacon, eggs and whipped cream/syrup. The waitress told me you can upgrade the pancakes to any on the menu which is normally 6 pancakes. I got pumpkin! The bacon is thick cut and fairly lean as bacon goes. The eggs were fresh and cooked as I wished. Everything was cooked well. I wanted my juice to be half grapefruit, half cranberry. That was no issue. One daughter had gluten-free chocolate chip pancakes and they were respectful of her allergies. She enjoyed the meal. My other daughterhad a french toast works similar to my pancakes combo.she was also very pleased. Pay at the register.

My favorite place for brunch. Its a pancake lovers dream and the omelettes are as big as pies. I crave their variety of crepes weekly and am working my way through the menu, though I often revisit the strawberry crepes which come with a sinfully delicious drizzle and homemade whipped cream that will bring tears to your eyes. There is plenty of parking in the shopping center parking lot (one of the main reasons they moved to this new location) and 1pm seems to be the perfect time to come, after the post-church-lunchers and before the late day brunchers. The interior decor is bland and almost hotel-breakfast-room like in nature. I wish it had more character, but its clean and offers a good amount of seats.

Ill give it an overall rating of 4 stars, but Id give the Food 5 stars. Pancakes far exceeded my expectations. I didnt order special pancakes with special ingredients.. just plain-jane pancakes on the side. But I was stunned. Hands-down, the best pancakes Ive ever eaten. The corned-beef hash was also excellent. Atmosphere - 3 stars (average) Our table was close to other tables, and it was rather noisy overall. But its breakfast- not fine dining. Service - 3 stars - average. Neither remarkable nor bad. Price - It was expensive for breakfast.. But Id say worth it for an occasion where you want a special delicious breakfast. Especially if you can avoid the weekend rush.

I find the Original Pancake House to be a mixed bag. On one hand they food is really good (if you enjoy breakfast fare) but on the other hand it can get pretty busy on weekend mornings. With a wait anywhere between half an hour and an hour (and sometimes longer) its easy to give up and try to find breakfast somewhere else. But if you do stick with it you can have a meal that is big on portions and very tasty. I keep it simple but they often have some crazy sounding special pancakes for the adventurous. If its a busy weekend morning your service might suffer a bit (slow on the coffee refills, for example) but its still one of the best breakfast destinations in the area.

People rave about this place but I find the place on the same level with a Silver Diner or IHOP. The food is good and the portion size is huge, but the place is so crowded on a weekend morning, its not worth the hassle. The tables are very close to each other and the noise level is high, mostly from lots of children. I cant remember when they moved from their old location in Falls Church to this one, but they went from one hard to navigate strip center to another - the new location has a little more parking but you will still have a hard time finding a spot to park on the weekends. And be prepared to wait 30-45min for a table.

Weve been visiting OPH in Falls Church regularly for 5 years. The crepes are outstanding. Unlike other chains, OPH does not use gloppy pie filling in their crepes. The Cherry Kijafa Crepes are heavenly as are the strawberry crepes. If you want a breakfast that will stick to your ribs for a week, try the Nutella Crepes with bananas and pecans. We always go during the week, so we cannot speak for the service during peak times (weekends); however, weve always found the service to be friendly and efficient. Wed love to try their apple pancake and Dutch Baby, but we cant not have the crepes. Were addicted.

Our recent family breakfast was a huge $80 disappointment. I ordered an omelet for the first time and it was an overcooked dry brown beret thing. Everyone said I should send it back but Im not that type. Ate 1/4 and left it...lesson learned. Everyone else thought the food was just average...made worse by the plastic-ness of the decor and the staff that was completely indifferent. After many years of this being a "special place" its off our list and plan to try other breakfast choices. I might still try the Bethesda location someday with its nice patio.

I fear my ratings are going to give the impression we dont like this place, but thats not the case at all. For what it is OPH is really great. Its your basic grab some breakfast on a weekend morning kind of place. The food is good, the service is efficient, and the decor is basic. We dont go to OPH for a dining experience. We go to get a good breakfast in the morning. Understand, Im comparing this to something like Arties as probably my favorite brunch in the area, and the two are in different league when it comes to a good breakfast/brunch.

Ive had hit & miss luck with service at this location, but will say that Ive noticed the service is improving in recent visits. The food is always cooked to my liking and Im so glad to have the choice of egg whites. The bacon is thick cut (they will char it or leave it half cooked upon request). The eggs can be done any number of manners: poached, over hard, over easy, over medium, sunny side up...on and on. The selection is unbeatable and the price (particularly if you get one of their Amazon local deals or otherwise) is also fantastic.

I tried the OPH today for the first time. Most of the choices on the menue were pancakes ofcourse, But I had the spinish crepes. They were exellent. They were crispy around the edges and with a great blend of flavors. I went in the middle of the day, so it was not crowded. The staff that was there was very friendly. The waitress looked me right in the eye with a friendly smile...there is not enough of that in the world these days. The atmosphere was very basic and not much to speak about, but I will go back again.
