Four adults went there last night for dinner. We made a reservation, no need as there were only two other tables of patrons. Apparently that was too many for the kitchen and wait staff to deal with that night. We all ordered, and two of the party ordered appetizers. The two others with us got their meals. Our waitress told us our would be right out. No appetizers? Oh well, things do get forgotten. Not so though. We got our appetizers, nothing fancy, gumbo and hushpuppies....stable for NOLA food. The gumbo was so salty I think someone dropped the entire box of salt in the pot. Totally not edible. Hushpuppies, sweet tasting, almost like pound cake. Interesting, not good especially since the same item was used on the salad for croutons. Sweet taste not good on salad. Also, no butter served with them so we asked for some, which came about 15 minutes later. Our entrees, again, not difficult Jambalaya and a shrimp poboy, arrived 20 minutes after that. Our dinner partners had already finished their meals, so we sat there eating ours. So we finally all finished and asked for the check. Our dining companions had been charged for a beer they didnt order to which the wait staff said...Oh no didnt you get that, that means I didnt put it on someone elses. Yep. So we asked for our check. Hum, wait staff can apparently process one check at a time and has to clear the other check prior to printing ours. Another wait. We also had to ask for water refills three times, which again took over 10 minutes to be done and the last time, not at all. I cant imagine will be retuning when the service and the food were both incredibly poor

Unfortunately, I think they would normally deserve 5 stars on the right day and at a better time. I went there at 5pm on a Monday because we really wanted oysters and they are $1 on Mondays from 4-7. We had a very rocky start. The service was very slow in the beginning and their shockingly beautiful, very fresh oysters were opened wrong and full of shells. It was so sad we offered to go in the kitchen and help. The staff was sparse and very new but extremely nice and seemed to be trying. The manager was amazing and after calling in more staff and bringing us new oysters they really turned things around. The food turned out to be finominal! In addition to the oysters, we had the corn bread, jambalaya and my 3 year old son couldnt stop eating the fried catfish! Thinking about it all actually makes me want to go in the fridge and get my leftovers! To think a table walked out and I came close to it in the beginning as well. Guess patience really is a virtue; so glad I stayed and cant wait to go back!

Just got back from this place and will definitely return. I have been in search of a good Jambalaya and this place was great. My co-worker had the Shrimp Poboy and he said it was excellent. We had the Beignet Trio for dessert. The Original and Honey were awesome, I’m not a huge fan of chocolate, so form you own opinion on that one. Their tea has a slight taste of honey and it was really good. The Abita Big Easy IPA was perfect. Our waitress (Colleen) was excellent; refills never had to be asked for and plates were taken away before asking so that conversation could be held without having to stack them to create elbow room. The music was a very light jazz that didn’t drown you in sound; first song playing was a lady covering House of the Rising Sun – excellent.

Ive been to New Orleans multiple times and enjoyed some great NOLA restaurants. This place uses some NOLA decor, but thats about it. For the prices, the tables were bland and the waitress was forgetful. Gumbo was salty. Jambalaya tomato based sauce tasted like SpagettiOs sauce (one can do better with store bought mix-in-a-box). Crawfish Etoufee was good as was the Red Beans & Sausage. Beignets had an slightly odd taste (might have been the shortening in the recipe or the oil used to fry them). I recommend you close the shop for a few days, then take your staff to NOrlins to experience the food and atmosphere. Hope yall successfully change.

If we could give this more stars, we would. The food is amazing. Weve been here a total of 4 times and plan on coming back at least once a month. There is one particular waitress who is amazing, we didnt catch her name but shes incredible. The rest of the serving staff could use some work but overall, the food just beats it. You have to order the half and half etouffee- its half crawfish etouffee and half fried crawfish, omg its so good. My mouth is salivating right now. Its not super uppity, which we like. Were not New Orleans experts but its just good food.

I love the sazerac cocktail! Habit forming while waiting for oysters on half shell. Sitting here on a quiet Sunday listening to a performer from the French Quarter and his singer friends as we warm up to dance off some of our supper. Dont know any place else in NoVA to get their red beans and sausage. Only choices now: 1)chickory or French press coffee with 2) made to order beignets or bread pudding or bananas foster...pecan pie too. The only decisions left are 1) French press or chickory coffee 2) with made to order beignets

This place should be ASHAMED of themselves! My food was literally picked up 5 minutes by the delivery driver after I ordered it. I ordered the crawfish etouffee and it was DISGUSTING! It tasted sour and ATLEAST 4 DAYS OLD! It was so bad I threw it out IMMEDIATELY! I also ordered the fried okra, which wasnt fried but mush and OLD AS WELL! And the bread pudding, jesus christ, IT ALL WENT IN THE TRASH! THIS PLACE IS A DISGRACE TO THE FRENCH CUISINE!

We enjoyed a great lunch with great service at French Quarter Brasserie. I ordered a salad with grilled and blackened shrimp. My friends ordered the catfish and the crawfish etoufee. Everyone was very pleased. The waitstaff were very attentive, the chef introduced himself, and one of the owners visited our table. I highly recommend FQB for lunch, and I look forward to visiting for dinner and the nightlife.

The ambiance was amazing, the servers were courteous. However, we went in for a sunday lunch and my crawfish etouffee (sp) sauce was delish but the white rice was very hard. Its almost like the rice was from the day before and they overheated it. Horrible. My husband ordered the catfish poboy and he felt like he was catfished. The gator bites was good but just not enough.

Food was great - service with Jessie was educational and fun. The blue lights were a bit much. Couldnt read the menu and it made all of the food dark and orange - unappetizing atmosphere - couldnt tell if I was eating shrimp or chicken or.... Maybe tone down the black lights? Otherwise it was a fun night and great to have this variety in Fairfax City!

Went there for drinks shortly after opening. Drinks were good, decor is really interesting, but the acid purple evening lighting is really obnoxious. Havent been back since just because of that. Every time I walk by I remember how uncomfortable the lighting is and end up going elsewhere. Its a shame! They had an interesting menu.
