I absolutely love High Tides! The environment is one of a kind, the views are beautiful no matter what time of year, and the staff are truly a wonderful group of unique and kind individuals. The drinks are great and fairly priced, the Beach Breeze being my personal favorite! At around the ten dollar mark you can get a Crown Royal Regal Apple and cranberry which is the best take on a Washington Apple available! All the bartenders are great! Theyre sure to put a smile on your face no matter what hour of any day of the week. If you want to go out with the whole family this is the perfect place to go. Whether you choose to dine in at the actual restaurant or go straight to the Black Pearl Tiki Bar and Grill theres something to keep your little ones entertained. Crayons and coloring books inside, if you sit on the deck they can play in the sand and water right across the boardwalk, and everyone should get their picture taken with the Captain who is stands at the front entrance. At the Black Pearl there is a place for your children to dance and play in the sand. Its just the best in every way! Before I conclude, I have to speak on the food- the rib eye steaks whether they be king or queen cut, regular or sizzle, are phenomenal! Juicy and tasty- no need for any sauce! The cole slaw is a creamy delight, the crabcakes are the best in town, the stuffed shrimp is the perfect blend of shrimp and crab, the crab Norfolk is a jumbo lump, buttery delight, the Tropical Island salad is a sweet and savory combination of Mandarin oranges, pineapple chunks, almonds and a Tropical Ginger vinaigrette that you cant find anywhere else and even the cole slaw is a creamy home made delight! I highly recommend checking this restaurant out several times a year. During October the whole place is transformed into a Halloween dream- nightmare maybe? And Christmas is a winter wonderland with seasonal drink specials that cant be found anywhere else. The New Years Eve seafood buffet and party shouldnt be missed and if you can only come to town for a weekend try to make Blues Fest in June or the infamous Bike Fest in early October. You wont be disappointed. This place will always have five stars in my book!

I was there to see Yoko says No! perform this past weekend and we only went to this place because it was referred to us. We got there for brunch and had a party of 8, 7 out of the 8 of us did the brunch buffet. Sure you had a big spread...but HOW OLD WAS THE FOOD?!?!?!?!? the eggs were watery and had a layer of water with them. Scraping the pan to get some eggs and when asked if more of the items were coming out, we were told "no, we are going to close brunch soon so they wont cook anymore food". Well, if there isnt ENOUGH food, why wouldnt you? Especially when there WERE customers. The other items (scrapple, gravy, hash) was not good. The grits looked like they were siting there (you know because it gets that hard layer on the top) so I didnt get any of them. The bagels were stale and hard. The waitress did the best that she could do, but hygiene was not a requirement clearly at this restaurant or being a server. Found a hair in the salad too! The hand made waffles and omelettes were probably the best thing about this place....well until we got an omelette and when tried to eat it, it was completely RAW on the inside. We tried to speak to someone and no one cared. NO ONE came to our table to ask us how everything is. We didnt even get to see a manager...he hid in the office and someone in our party had to go back there to speak to him. We did it to inform him of our experience being a big party and coming from some that are in the industry. We all came from a busier area and this experience was just awful and I was just so sad to see that there was no customer service in this place. We will not be dining here ever again. We come down to visit often. Friend owns a house down here. Should have just gone to Lennys!

Came here on a Sunday at about 845 because the times listed said closed at 11. Definitely felt awkward when we were told they were closing in ten minutes, even heard the “Manager” complaining loudly at the bar arguing with a server saying they should lock the doors. The server wanted to work more than the manager. Coming from the restaurant business myself near Richmond this is horrible and unheard of in my place of work. The server on the other hand was very nice and courteous and my food was delicious. My only complaint is this very nice restaurant on the boardwalk here should really have the times listed correctly, about a dozen other potential customers walked up and had to leave and all of them were looking at google maps shaking there heads. Once again AMAZING FOOD, great service from the waiters, just the immature female manager arguing with a server in plain sight making me and my family feel awkward even being there. I’m eating here again for lunch today but now I’m sure they’re open :) – “Pixi” was the complainer whoever the owners are of this should really reconsider having her as an employee. They can contact me directly by email for further discussion because some of the stuff that came out of her mouth is not appropriate for public view. Sad my two kids had to hear it though

I love the atmosphere. It is great..I love it , These guys, Brian, I think and I forget his wifes name, Have the right idea. They have a place right on the boardwalk facing the beach, They have the sand and Tiki Bar, It is real cool, I do live at the beach and I came here a couple times after I was in Md. and I heard people raving about the place, So, I had to check it out. They have fabulous bands, good music. A place you can go to without a bunch of drama and fighting and that is a first. I do have one complaint, I met a friend here from Michigan, to show him the place, I sat there and drank quite a few mixed drinks at 6 dollars a piece, the alcohol was skimpy, If any at all, And every time after, I noticed the same thing, So did the couple with me that was visiting. I know the bar tricks, But, If you treat your customers better, More people would pay to come in the establishment, Rather then stand on the boardwalk and listen to the music. I would say that is my only complaint. I ordered a 30 dollar platter to share, Ofcourse, And there was plenty of food on the plate, enough for 4 to pick at, rather than 2 that it was intended for...... Great Place, Thanks, We need it at the beach, wish it didnt close after summer... THANKS GUYS!!

We had a terrible experience. It took over an hour to get food service even though only about 6 tables were seated and maybe two out on the board walk. The food was terrible. The flour tortilla for the quesadilla was stale and the steak in it was full of gristle. We could see the woman who was cooking in the kitchen eating while she cooked (we had a perfect view through the serving opening to the kitchen from our table). The kids food was stale and greasy. The server didnt come to check on our drinks or offer to refill, we had to track her down to get service. Our server, who was also the bartender, was rude and wouldnt give us change for a dollar to use at the parking meters when we left. She said it was their policy not to give change even though we needed to move our car from their parking lot once we finished lunch. She suggested we walk up to the 7-11 a few blocks away to try to get change. All in all it was a very bad experience. I wouldnt go back again. Unfortunately they are one of the only places to eat on the water at CB. Very disappointing.
