My husband and I had The Inn of Montross cater our wedding in June of 2013. I must say that we made the perfect choice and would not have changed a thing! The owner was such a joy to work with! The Inn catered the rehersal dinner as well as the wedding reception dinner. Both were a full success! We began talking to Cindy from The Inn at Montross without a clue as to what we would like to serve for dinner at both events. She was kind enough to send me multiple different menu examples that they had previously used on catering jobs. We found that to be so helpful as we were able to find items on the menus that we thought sounded good and add them together to make our own custom menu. She was very knowledgeable as to what items pair well together and also very helpful in chosing items that would be appropriate for a warm summer evening meal. Cindy was also very detailed oriented through the entire process of customizing and finalizing the menu. In almost every email there was an attachment of an updated spread sheet showing every detail of the event. It was comforting to know that she had a good understanding of the details of our event and was as prepared as possible. As a young couple paying for a majority of our own wedding, we were concerned about costs. We didn’t want to break the bank completely, but we also wanted the experience to be nice for our guests. The owner was so nice in making suggestions and helping us choose items that were more cost friendly while still having that touch of elegance that a catered event portrays. When the rehersal dinner came around, The Inn at Montross made the experience perfect! They were more than happy to cater to the location of our rehearsal dinner which was held at Ingleside Winery in their barrel room. Cindy began our evening by introducing herself and her teammate before then going over each item being served for dinner that night. She briefly explained how it was prepared or where it came from, many of the items being locally grown. That little extra bit of effort of explaining the meal to us and our guests really made the evening special and added a personal touch to the meal. The wedding reception the following day was as equally impressive. The food set up was lovely and the service was just as exceptional as the night before. The staff was so sweet! My husband and I were busy speaking to all of our guests and when we finally had a moment to sit down, one of the waitresses came out of nowhere with two ice cold glasses of water and reminded us to stay hydrated! It was the sweetest gesture and so thoughtful of her!! That is just one example of how kind the staff members were! They truly played a huge role in making the evening a success. Now about the food….I cannot express how perfectly everything was cooked. I truly commend them!! To cook for 110 people is a huge task and a challenge I am sure, but they did their job above and beyond. To mention every item that was served for the rehearsal and the wedding reception would take entirely too long, but lets just leave it at saying that there was not one single complaint from myself, my husband, or any of our guests!! I saw quite a few quests that went back for seconds and even thirds! No one went to bed hungry that night thats for sure! We literally were so happy to have chosen The Inn at Montross to cater our special day and look forward to working with them again for any future events!! Thank you so much to The Inn at Montross, the staff, and the passion for food and service excellence that was shown through our entire experience!

Do you live in the busy over-stressed DC area and are looking to de-stress and relax? Then you need to call the Inn at Montross and make a reservation for at least one night. Montross is a small town of just over 300 and the perfect place to chill. My wife and I visited over two nights and it was "just what the doctor ordered." There are numerous great wineries in the local area and some enlightening historic places to visit. The Inns hosts, Ken and Cindy, are gracious and most accommodating. Make note that there is no TV in the rooms, but thats the whole idea of "getting away." There is wi-fi available so you wont be totally disconnected. And the food at the Inns restaurant, well, your tummy will also leave very happy.

I stayed at the Inn at Montross this past weekend and the whole experience was wonderful. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and the food was exceptional. Ive visited many restaurants in the DC area whose menu doesnt hold a candle to the Inns menu. The chef is classically trained in French cuisine and everything I ordered was delicious. The Inn is convenient to several Virginia wineries, so if youre looking for a weekend retreat (away from the hustle and bustle of the city) the Inn at Montross is the perfect place. I highly recommend the Inn at Montross to anyone in Virginia that appreciates quality food, great wine, and quiet get-aways.

Wow; finally a quaint Inn with a fantastic sports bar / Pub (downstairs) and a great fireplace cozy finer dining experience (upstairs) with a tucked away private bar, too. Great food / menu and Sunday buffet you must try. Very reasonable prices and friendly Mgmt. and service staff aiming to please the customer! I cant wait to recommend the rooms for our traveling friends to the area especially with the super food services, on site. The Inn is under new ownership and is a hidden treasure, you must check out! We cant wait to return - Fred Howe, Colonial Beach, VA.

The Inn at Montross was the perfect getaway for my fiance and I. Cindy and her husband are very kind and the food/room was amazing. We had a blast with the local wine tastings and small town atmosphere. We live in Richmond and will most definitely put it on the list of local getaways in the future. Definitely worth a visit.
