My friends omelet was incredibly undercooked in the middle to the point she was not able to eat it. We were in a hurry, so we asked politely for her dish to be remade and boxed to-go. Apparently all the cook did was throw the food back on the grill for a minute, which browned the outside but did nothing to cook the inner portion, which was still undone. As my friend was still unable to eat her meal, I asked for the dish to be taken off our check, and the waitress promptly copped a SERIOUS and unnecessary attitude with us, telling us to take it up with the manager as she flounced away. The manager was incredibly rude about his refusal to remove my friends inedible dish from the check. He even lied and said it had been remade from scratch. I paid the bill in order to avoid a scene with this clown. Needless to say, I will not be back. The entire incident was doubly embarrassing as my friend had been visiting from out of town and was eager to try a local breakfast joint. I am a huge foodie and have never had the displeasure of such terrible service in all my time in Cville. My friends and I are young women of colour, and I couldnt help but notice that the mostly older, white patrons of the restaurant were treated with quite a bit more friendliness than we were. I seriously question whether our server and the manager would have gotten this openly irate with anyone else in the restaurant, and I am really amazed at the quickness of their attitude change. Its quite embarrassing to have someone speak to you like a child because their cook cant make a decent omelet. The food here isnt really anything I cant whip up at home in a few minutes. IMO its not worth dealing with the staff.

Seedy location, cafeteria atmosphere and decor, extremely slow service, table was sticky even thought it was just "cleaned." There is no privacy for any table in the whole restaurant, we packed in like pigs at a trough. We went for breakfast at 1050 AM and they wouldnt serve their lunch menu even though it starts at 11:00 and we would have waited. Scrambled eggs were flat, runny and flavorless, the hash browns were a wet and pressed shredded potato fried on the outside and soft on the inside, no flavor except for the HUNTS ketchup we drowned it in. (respectable businesses will use 57) The biscuits were rubbery and out of a bag, the bacon would have been more at home on a wendys bacon cheese burger. The "western omlet" was as bland as the scrambled eggs. The only saving grace was that the pancakes lived up to the expectation created in the menu. They were good and so was the coffee. We dont recommend going here. Who puts a rand mcnally world map on the wall and considers it art?

We traveled from California to visit Thomas Jeffersons Monticello and the family was tired and hungry from the 6 hour drive (for the 8th day in a row). I pulled off 25/250 and pulled into the Cavalier Diners *EMPTY* parking lot to get our bearings and look for food. Despite the engine remaining on and me starting to pull out of their *EMPTY* parking lot less than 3 minutes later (having figured out how to get to our hotel), a large gentleman from inside came outside and started for my car, certainly less than happy. However, since I was obviously leaving their *EMPTY* parking lot, he only managed to give me a distasteful glare the entire time I sat at the traffic light. Did I mention that their parking lot was *EMPTY*?? OK, good. Any business willing to treat even potential customers that way is not worth my business. We promptly left and wont be back while were in the area for the next 4 days.

They have a pretty good deal, buy two pizzas and get a third one free, however the taste was disappointing. I really wanted to like this because they are convenient to where I live. I like crispy crust pizza, but while these pan pizza crusts were pretty black on the bottom, they were not crusty, and would bend picking them up. The dough had a bland cardboardy taste. The pizza sauce was not that good and tasted like it was poured from a can. The pepperoni had no spice, in fact I couldnt taste it at all. All in all, not quality ingredients. This is just a pizza review. I did not try anything else there and other things on the menu might be fine. The inside was pleasant enough and there usually seems to be cars parked outside the Cavalier Diner.

I will never eat at this restaurant! I was meeting some friends there and while waiting picked up a cup from the ground. I went to the dumpster behind the restaurant to throw it away and some man came outside and started yelling at me. I asked if he was the owner and he said that he was. I told him that I was picking up litter while waiting for people to eat there for dinner. He continued to berate me and told me to remove it from his dumpster. I told him that he was talking to a customer but he didnt seem to care. I removed it and asked his name but he would not tell me. We decided to eat elsewhere and will not return there again. Its a shame that this man and his poor attitude is giving this restaurant a bad reputation.

Seemed like it might be a charming small diner, but unfortunately it was a wholly unpleasant experience. It took perhaps a half an hour to be seated, while the staff fretted over a large party that had not even arrived yet. It was a little over an hour after that when we finally got our food. In the meantime, nearly being knocked out by plates flying out of the hands of one of the servers onto one of our partys heads (and then served anyways, yikes!) made it difficult to enjoy the food when it did arrive, although it was okay. Probably one of the more stressful eating experiences.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. I ordered online on a Saturday night. After an hour, still no food. When I tried to call the phone just rang and rang. Finally I got through and they told me it was on its way. The food didnt come for another hour and was cold when it got there. I said I wouldnt accept the food, because I wanted a refund, but when I tried to get one, they refused! Its a shame, as it sounds like their food is good, but their customer service is terrible. 2 hours is an unacceptable time for an order, and hanging up on customers asking for refunds is just rude.

I ordered a gyro sandwich. The first one I had there was awesome. This one had three tiny pieces of gyro meat and almost no tziki sauce. The servers were chatting in a corner and no one asked how my meal was until I was finished. When I told them, they said the portions are preset so they didnt believe that there was so little meat on the gyro. I should have complained at the beginning. But they were so just chatting I didnt. I probably wont go back there. What happened to the customer being right?

Worst place ever. Terrible service. Eggs benedict werent done correctly, in the beginning all the tables were dirty and they made sit at a dirty table. My family and i asked for waters, that never came. My mother asked for more coffee, it never came. Were never coming here again, i suggest you do the same. When we confronted the waitress about the terrible service she made up so many excuses. Unacceptable and unprofessional.
