We ordered the Reuben and the Gyro. The Reuben was awful. A Reuben is supposed to have too much meat on it. At least the corned beef should out-proportion the bread. It did not. There were the fewest tiny shavings of meat in the sandwich, the corned beef was clearly pre-packaged and not fresh. It was tasteless, flavorless and bland, all at the same time. The sauerkraut was lacking in all the same ways as the corned beef. There was Swiss, but it was low quality, as was the canned, Russian dressing. The Reuben was also very small. Way too small. The Gyro was mediocre at best, boring and way too small. The lamb probably wasnt fresh, but had some flavor. Tomato, cucumber, lettuce. The dressing was by far the most flavorful aspect of the Gyro, out-flavoring the lamb. We ordered these for dinner and were foraging for a real meal an hour, or so later. The two sandwiches were also way too expensive for how small they were, even with the 15% off coupon. Absolutely nothing about these sandwiches was fresh. We were disappointed going to Village Café, expecting to find a great local place for subs and sandwiches after having read more than a few great reviews. We went in excited and not wanting, or trying to hate. The staff was pleasant and very kind, but we were not impressed with the food and won’t be returning.

The food was alright but a little on the expensive side. I ordered the steak and cheese it was pretty good. Nice little spot to sit in and eat. The employees were good to me and the people that we came with. We placed out order and they had us sit down and bought the food to us when it was ready. Good place to go overall.

Ive ordered from Village Cafe a couple times and Ive never had a bad meal. The place is dull on the inside, but that doesnt matter to me since I just do carry out. Their Philly Steak & Cheese is pretty good, and I also like their Meatball Sub. Prices are a little high, but they give you plenty of food.

I worked here back in 1997 so i have a little bit of an inside scoop. The great service has never changed. I never left hungry. Subs are packed full, plenty of fries, full dinners dont skimp. It is a deli place so no extravagant setting, but its not needed. I do suggest their steak & cheese subs. Yum!

This is a simple cafe. The food was always good, even if it was not outstanding. I frequently have the Gyros. They were always good and satisfied my hankering for a gyro. Unfortunately, I never spend enough time on other parts of the menu. I really need to try them for their breakfast items.

Despicable establishment that violated Virginia state law by refusing to give service to a wounded veteran accompanied by a service dog. The treatment by their employees and the owner is offensive and should be avoided by all people in the area.

A great hole-in-the-wall style restaurant with good food! They have an excellent selection of vegetarian options for those who are interested. When it comes to local businesses you could not pick a more lovely family to support!
