When you evaluate the thing you look for in a small, local coffee shop, Blend delivers on all fronts. Its tough to find a place like this on the outskirts of the DC/NoVA metro area, but Im glad they set up shop here to compete with the not-terribly-infrequent showings of Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks in the area. Ive been coming here for a few months now since I moved to the area and pretty much refuse to go back to the traditional commercial channels of getting my coffee. When I first came here, what blew me away was the patio space outside, which is simply amazing to use when its nice out. People parking their bikes nearby, dogs relaxing in the sun, and the occasional chalk art from the kids really lend to a family oriented space. They even hosted a talent show for the community (Ashburns Got Talent) that had an amazing turnout and showcasing of local talent. The interior decor features a large exposed brick backdrop and lots of minimalist wooden fixtures without being overly gaudy. Menus on the wall and the huge calendar are tastefully curated and designed by one of the staff members, giving an immediate homey feel. Seating in generous even when busy due to lots of sq. footage in a usable format. I really appreciate the varying degrees of counter space and seating styles; the varying lengths and heights to allow for those that type, work, read, or have conversations to find the correct ergonomics. It really does just FEEL like a great coffee place! The staff is consistently pleasant, punctual, and never afraid to strike up a conversation. Ive never had a bad cup of coffee here, and really do love the varying degrees of products they offer. I wouldnt consider myself a coffee aficionado, but talking with the staff here, you can tell they are incredibly passionate about both coffee and customer service. Ask them for recommendations! And for later in the evening, there is even a small wine selection, which makes it a great spot for after dinner conversation. I think I can classify myself as a regular here at this point, so whenever the staff inevitably reads this, I hope you guys know that I sincerely appreciate the work, dedication, and great conversations I continue to have day in and day out. I originally came here just to find a quiet spot to read comic books, and ended up finding much more. And to anyone else that happens across this, please give Blend Coffee Bar a shot if youre in the area!

My first impression was definitely not a 5-star worthy at all (as most quoted). The menu seemed interesting and extensive, but customer service could use improvement. We ordered 2 lattes and ham & cheese croissants, the cashier asked if we wanted to-go cups or mugs "for here", we replied "for here", after a few minutes a young woman brought us COLD lattes in to-go cups and forgot all about croissants. After I said that we were supposed to get real mugs, she asked if we wanted to pour our (already cold) coffee into coffee mugs which she brought out shortly after. She proudly announced that she warmed up the mugs for us. Thanks I guess?...One good thing I can say is we found a cool room in the back with hanging hammock-type chairs, a leather love seat, and an arm chair, and a bunch of board games on the shelves, but the shelves were messy and games were not put away properly. Plus the back wall behind the hanging chairs could use a fresh paint coat and/or some wall art or at least a wall rug to cover up the faded chipped walls.

I was so excited to try this place after seeing an event on Facebook with a waffle truck on site. We ordered 3 iced caramel lattes then headed out to the beautiful courtyard to the waffle truck. After waiting in line for waffles and getting seats, we went back in to get our coffees and they still were not ready. In total it took about 15 ish minutes and someone even walked out while waiting forgoing their refund. After receiving the coffees, sadly they were not very good, there was no caramel flavor and the coffee tasted burned. I would have much rathered paid the extra $1 to head to Starbucks for a specitalty drink. The atmosphere and place are beautiful, just wished the wait time was less and drinks tasted better.

Love this place!! On my first visit to Blend Coffee Bar I enjoyed the best mocha latte I have had in years. This place is so much better than the fast food style coffee shops like Starbucks. The owner and staff are so friendly and know how to take care of their customers. There is a real focus on quality. My husband and I had the breakfast sandwich today, it was absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed a cup of pour over coffee, a great way to experience a freshly brewed cup. If you aren’t into coffee they also have tea, wine, beer and more! It’s a great place to hang out!!

Blend is a unique coffee shop with beer and wine to pick in addition to the usual choices youd find at a cafe. The outdoor seating and the cozy atmosphere makes this a great place to unwind and relax. Ive been here twice so far, and have been extremely happy with my experience both times. For anyone looking for a place to chill and hangout in the evenings, this would be it. Update (10/01/2016): we ordered some food this time and were unfortunately disappointed. The "artichoke dip" is store bought tostitos with Stacys pita chips. The egg sandwich was good.

Ive been here about three times now and I love this place! I discovered Blend by chance when getting off work one day. That day, I had an AMAZING cookies and cream cupcake with a great cup of coffee. There is a great atmosphere here, friendly staff, and wonderful products. I havent gotten to try everything but they seem to have a little bit for everyone - coffee, sweets, food, and beer/wine! I would recommend this place to anyone in the area :)

Friendly, local coffee shop with a knowledgeable, helpful staff. Youll pay a bit more than your standard Starbucks price but its worth it for the atmosphere and supporting a local business (not enough of a coffee connoisseur to tell you if the coffee is better or not). They also serve food (baked goods, sandwiches, desserts), wine, beer, and teas. Lots of local events and such held here too

Great coffee shop with decent prices. They use Lone Oak Coffee which is roasted here in Northern Virginia. Great space for a book club, a nice quiet spot to study, and a solid place for a date. *For those non-coffee fans: they have a good tea selection as well as various adult libations, even hot cider in the Fall. You must visit if you havent already.

Where do I begin? Somehow this teeny coffee shop has the most delicious coffee, baked goods, and service. In an attempt to make up for my missed pilates class I figured I would try out this spot to salvage my morning. I opted for the iced coffee (loved the coffee ice cubes!) and the honey/peanut butter/cinnamon toast.

Your hipster brother decided he didnt want to go along with a Starbucks franchise and opened this place. Ambiance is nice and so is the outside seating, but it took 15 mins to make my drink and it was terrible. 1 guy walked out without a refund cause it took so long which if its good I can do but it wasnt
