This place deserves the praise. Im not often motivated to leave reviews, but this is the best bakery Ive visited in my five years in the D.C. area. The guy behind the counter was extremely helpful, taking the time to explain the ingredients in nearly every dessert (and there are many, all made fresh every morning, and all bearing something to make it aesthetically distinctive and appealing). If you go for only one item, try the almond horseshoes (theres no doubt a proper name for them). I would have never ordered one, as they look dry, but they came recommended by the person working the counter. After hearing the description (and the price -- only about $2), I decided to give it a shot. As an almond lover, it was one of the best desserts Ive ever tasted (theyre made with almonds, almond paste, almond flour, and possibly almond extract). Simple, but perfect. Crunch on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Like a macaroon, but better. The other desserts we tried were all consistently good, too.

I have lived in Washington, DC for the past 3.5 years and have been searching for a decent bakery. This one takes the cake! I went with my mom and we tried nearly every pastry (we went to the gym first!) and each one was better than the next. My favorite: the Caribbean- it was like nothing that I have ever tasted in my life- it melts in your mouth. The Napoleon was to die for- just the perfect amount to sweet (not too much) and creamy like clouds. The cupcakes are moist and flavorful (not like the dry ones from the DC cupcake bakeries which shall remain nameless) and the cakes are like works of art with gorgeous flowers and decorations of any kind the mind can imagine. The lemon tart was perfection. On top of all the incredible pastries/cookies/cakes, the staff is a pleasure. They greet you with a smile, are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their the work and their creations. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of pastries that this bakery caries. FIVE STARS and more!

Okay, I was already to be upset and to write a bad review after the not so appealing service I received by one of the staff at Pastries By Randolph. This staff person apparently did not have a personality and didnt want to wait on customers (or was it just me). Anyway, I purchased the lemon butter cream cake from the display. I am not a fan of anything lemon, but once I got it in my car the aroma of lemon was wafting all around me. I wanted to rip the box open to have a little taste. I reign myself in until later that even at the birthday dinner for my Aunt. I tasted the cake and OMG the flavor was wonderful. Even though I dont like lemon cake I have to admit it was very tasty. The cake didnt last long after everyone received a taste of it. So my hat off to Pastries By Randolph. Will try other cakes by you. Recommendation: please consider putting a vanilla butter crème cake on display.

Weve been frequent customers to this clean and impressive bakery since moving to the D.C. area. Pastries by Randolp is home to many delectable desserts and pastries and weve been habitual customers since 2008. We love almost everything they make and can honestly say weve never been disappointed by any of their products. Not withstanding roros bad experience, coz yew know roro gots to have his kake and eat it 2 (ok, enough retard talk). We love the business and the products they offer. Its a pity that great establishments have to suffer the poor grammar and English of fools, but its the world we live in when all it takes is a smart phone, limited typing skillz, and not understanding Almond extract vs. liquor in a cake. God help us all. Randolps is da bomb yall! (werd to my homeys) piece out....

I was very disappointed with the order I placed with them last week. I had order blue and white cake (picture they showed was fatted and looks blue apparently to their claim it is a purple color) I had no choice to pick up to cake, since I had a baby shower to host and no cake would it be bad. Cake was not right color (it was purple instead of blue) and did not taste as good as some of their other cakes I had before. And I was very disappointed that they did not take any responsibility, since they did not go over any of the color detail with me instead arguing that I signed the order. I would never order anything from them ever again...

I went to order my wedding cake and was so bad treated from the lady in the front. In the couple minutes I stayed there she mistreated 2 more clients. I dont understand what is she doing there if she doesnt want to. Im sorry guys I went with 12 days from the date, your web page says it need to be 14 and I didnt make my order before because I decided my wedding date last week. Next time Ill ask first the pastry if they are available for make my cake or I wont marry lol. Unfortunately the place was high recommend but I believe my friend recommend the wrong place.

The prices are very reasonable for the quality. Always consistent. Have been going here since the mid 90s and I live in Manassas. But, when I have to have the perfect desserts - I will only go here. You cant beat it! The staff is wonderful, you can call ahead and make sure they have your treat....and they have simply great regular cookies. Do you know how hard it is to find a chocolate chip cookie anymore? Theyve got them!

The specialty cakes are amazing. I think the price was worth the product. However, beware of the coldness that is Deborah when you ask about delivering cakes. What did we do to you? We just wanted to know if you could deliver the cake! Did our question insult you? The other employees are great, but I wish there was a way I could get great cake without money going to her...

I ordered a two tier cake for a very special event, my nieces 15 birthday, recently. The taste of the cake was extraordinary, however, it was not designed at all, "AT ALL". It was too late for me to change my mind but for the "EXTRAORDINARY" price I paid, it really made me feel bad to pick it up. To DESIGN a cake it is very IMPORTANT at the time any order is taken.

Just extraordinary--and I dont like cake!! Invariably moist, rich, and decadently flavorful. You will never be able to eat a grocery store cake again. Make sure to take SMALL slices, as a little goes a long way, and these cakes remain delicious for several days without drying out. Expensive, but as a special (birthday, anniversary) indulgence, SO worth it.

Deliciously crafted cakes! They did my daughter 1st birthday party cake. Although it is not the cheapest in custom cakes, it is certainly worth every penny in design and flavor. Not only that, the staff was very helpful andmquite friendly! Their raspberry filling with buttercream icing is heavenly (my mouth is watering as I type this.) Happy Eating!

This is one of the best bakeries in Arlington. The croissants here are very tasty. They have chocolate, normal and a few other flavors. I always get chocolate. They are very yummy! Everything else here is good. The cakes are wonderful, the breads are good. You cannot go wrong here. My office buys food from here for some of our meetings.
