Was in town for two weeks from El Paso TX...the Mexican Food Capital of the US. This was the closest to authentic Mexican Food I could get and it was great! The Tipico..Rib eye marinated steak was delicious. The plate came with refried beans and rice and queso fresco, Mexican cheese. We returned and tried the enchiladas and chicken tacos. The enchilada sauce was extremely mild compared to back home but was delicious none the less. Joey, the owner treated my crew and I like family and for an hour and a half... we felt like were back home. Thank you Joey and La Union.....5 Stars!

The food was delicious and the service great. BUT there was a long STEEL WIRE in my chicken enchilada, as if from a grill brush. Thank goodness I noticed it before swallowing ... I notified the wait staff, and they discounted my bill, but they didnt seem to understand the serious danger of a piece of steel in my food. They told me that "accidents happen, sorry" The food tasted good, but Im afraid of eating there again if theyre going to continue to not care about steel in customers food

Place is chill during lunch time, good place to talk with your friends and eat. The flavor of the food is on point! I had a Tamarindo (tastes like Arnold Palmer and lemonade) the revuelta pupusas (pork and cheese) and a chicken tamale. The taste brought back memories of my grandmothers homecooking, one of my pupusas however the corn tortilla was a bit doughy but other than that great and inexpensive experience and I will definitely be back!

The hidden gem of Arlington. Not sure how hidden it is but this place is awesome. Best mom and pops Ive been to and Im not even Spanish. Its not just the good food but the awesome service. Havent been in years and when me and my wife returned they remembered our faces and asked where weve been. Who does that. Makes you feel home. Great food and good prices 5 star for me well deserved

Extremely reasonable prices and extremely tasty food! We drove 40 miles based on online reviews and we were not disappointed. The El Tipico entree is the deal of a lifetime at 10.95 for a steak dinner. Flavorful grilled steak! The margaritas werent made with fresh lime juice, which was a disappointment, but we discovered the 32oz Salvadorian beers and all was well again! :)

This is a good place for neighborhood Mexican. I enjoyed the chicken enchiladas as the plate was perfect to split between two people. I was not impressed with the tamales. There was way too much corn meal and not enough filling - at least for the chicken ones. Good service and parking.

Cool place to grab a bite to eat. Ate at bar in the back. Staff really friendly. Had crab dip and a burger for my meal. Happen to be there for happy hour specials on drinks and food. Great offers and food was delicious. If youre in the area worth the visit

A great dinner spot. When Im in the mood for mexican food I head to la union. The prices are reasonable and you get chips and salsa at your table. I always order el tipico and my wife orders fajitas and we have never had any reason to complain.

Food is good but prices increased substantially & portions seem smaller & very basic. Got chilli relleno & just OK for $12.50. 2 small chillis, very small rice & beans serving. Some kind of garnish would have been nice. Wont go again.

New to the area and the reviews made us want to try this place out. The parking lot was quite full already on a Monday evening but there was no waiting inside. The chips and salsa were fresh and the food came out fast, hot and delicious.

Everyone who comes here speaks Spanish, so it must be good. Very fresh chips and salsa served while waiting for your order. Simple and unassuming ambience; nothing special, but the food is always good. Excellent value.

Traditional, welcoming Mexican restaurant. Friendly people, good menu, tasty dishes. But, nothing fancy in this storefront eating place. I recommend.

Probably the best pupuseria in the area. Try the pupusa revuelta. For dinner I often get the plato tipico, or the sopa de rez on weekends.

The food and service are consistently excellent. Their pupusas are the best in Northern Virginia and I also love their California Burrito.

The service is always great, and they have the best, most flavorful refried beans. Also, the papusas (sp?) are FANTASTIC.

Very reasonably priced and great food. Also, the guy who owns it talked to us and helped serve and he is the coolest!
