I was absolutely disgusted at the service of Ciro Ristorante. I had to wait half an hour before I was able to receive service from a waiter. I thought that maybe the restaurant was busy, since it was a Friday night, but my party and I had to wait a full hour before receiving our meals. At this point, I was becoming very impatient at the way the restaurant was serving us. Another huge factor to our disgust was the manner in which we were serviced. My party and I accounted for another party that entered the restaurant about an hour after we did. They were serviced in less than 10 minutes upon arriving and received their food within 20 minutes of ordering. We were astonished in the way our party was treated compared to theirs. However, my party and I decided to give this restaurant one more opportunity through asking for our receipts, so we could make sure we had received the proper amount of change and leave. This proved to be the most irritating effort that Ive ever experienced when dining at a restaurant. We were forced to wait for 30 whole minutes, and at that point my party was brought to argue with the restaurant owner/manager. He was denying everything that we were arguing with him about: Their terrible service, their mix-up of our reservation, and the unfairness of the service. Furthermore, when the language became more fierce and the calm argument became filled with profanity, the only thing that the manager could comment about us was our rudeness. This was completely hypocritical coming from him because were forced to sit in their restaurant from about 5:30pm to 7:30pm. We had to wait 2 whole hours to order, eat our meals, and pay our dues. My party eventually grew tired of trying to argue with a man who would not even attempt to apologize and made excuses for himself, so we left. I know for a fact that I will never return to this restaurant and I would recommend anyone else thinking about this restaurant to deeply consider my review.

Called in a take-out order over the phone. Man who answered was either rude, distracted, or in a hurry, but whatever it was, he certainly wasnt being friendly. When I picked up the order, I left a disproportionately high tip (because I have a rule that I always overtip for bad service, following the maxim of "kill em with kindness" ), and upon seeing it, he changed his demeanor and switched into "friendly mode." Because of my younger age, I sometimes have issues with not being given respect or good customer service because of the stereotypes associated with people my age. This experience seemed to be yet another example of that kind of inequitable treatment towards younger customers. But because he was friendly towards the end, had good food with generous portions, and technically never crossed the line with anything he said (and was technically professional, albeit unenthusiastic and not outwardly friendly until the end), I feel that its only fair to dock a point. The food lived up to its reputation, and thats arguably whats most important -- although good service is a close second. Ill probably be reluctant to come back since I place a high value on customer service -- particularly w.r.t. treatment of younger customers vs treatment of older/more-affluent ones. Its my way of "voting with my pocketbook." But I do recommend the restaurant to people not bothered by the above. Additionally, its entirely possible that the man in question was simply having a bad day and that this was merely a one-off. So Im certainly open to potentially giving them a second change at some point.

Pleasantly surprised when I walked in to find a semi fancy sit down restaurant in that strip mall. Food was great as was the service. EDIT: Just came back from my second visit. After a discussion with the manager, Rudy, it was apparent that he wasnt well versed in customer service and single-handedly made me never want to come back. I ordered one of their specials, short rib with risotto. I honestly wish I took a picture so I can attach it to the review as proof, but what I got was short rib with rice. Regardless of what type of rice they used, I was served dry rice. All I asked was they acknowledge it was rice and not risotto, and he proceeded to disrespect me by essentially telling me that I dont know what Im talking about. I explained to him how risotto is cooked, and how its supposed to look, then he asks if Im Italian, as if only Italians know what risotto is. They literally served me rice, fluffy rice, dry fluffy rice and called risotto. And instead of trying to resolve the matter in a diplomatic fashion, the manager resorts to insulting me. 2 stars only due to our waiter (whose name escapes me) being fantastic, otherwise the establishment would get 1 (0 if possible) due to their manager.

As I walked into Ciro Ristorante the elegance of the restaurant was overwhelming. However what i experienced was contradictory to what i expected. Our party was poorly and unfairly treated. Our party was a group of 7 and we were mostly Asian and the majority of the customers were Caucasian. We were told our reservation never existed, and we were seated next to the bathrooms. Already irritated that they mest up our reservation, we waited for 15 minutes for the waiter to come. The waiter was highly unprofessional and made us wait an hour and ten minutes for food and we received our food only when we asked for it. Another party of 10+ Caucasian people entered thirty minutes after us and still got their food the same time we did. After eating, the waiter took 30 more minutes with the checks and couldnt figure out how much change was due. We were enraged at how unfair, unprofessional, and rude our waiter was, after getting in an argument he cussed us out and ran away to find his manager to defend himself. Overall, the food was great, but in my experience it seemed that the restaurant heavily favored Caucasian people and treated minorities with unfair, unprofessional, and rude service.

Ciro DAgostino, owner and manager of Ciro Ristorante (not to be confused with other restaurants of the same name) is our friend who also owns Ciros N.Y. Pizza restaurant in Centreville, Virginia. His fine-dining restaurant in Aldie is what I would describe as "quiet elegance." Ciro puts his heart and soul in his cuisine, and caters to individual requests for both food and drinks. If you are a regular patron and have special desires, he will remember. We have patronized his Centreville restaurant for more than a decade, and each time we eat there, he tells his staff how we like our food prepared. You dont get that kind of special attention from franchise restaurants. That same kind of attention is shared by his staff at his Ristorante in Aldie. The food and service are excellent, and his waiters and waitresses are unobtrusive. They never interrupt conversations during a meal, but are always available and accommodating when there is a break in conversation. If you like a quiet dinner with family, you will love Ciro and his ristorante.

Similar bad customer service experience as Torki. We enjoy their pizza well enough to drive from Middleburg. We ordered take out. The price on line did not match the price charged. Rather than checking and having a reasonable conversation, the manager simply told me I was wrong and continued to charge me. He was a bit of an @$$ about it. Customer service is not his strength. When I got home, I still had the website open, and confirmed pricing. then when I refreshed the page, they had updated the price. So not only was he rude about, he also believed me enough to double check, then continued to fix it with no follow up. Also, on a previous dine in experiences, I have found their food to be quite bland recently. It used to be much better, but my guess is that Ciro no longer spends much time at this location. I shall not return.
