Dear Coffee Break, thank you for existing and for having the hours that you do. However please clean the bathrooms just enough for use. I really do love the graffiti and atmosphere and literally everything about this place because i am addicted to your coffee/caffeine and yeah.. also i think it would be really awesome if you made your refills for a cup of house for like $1. because Im poor and so is everyone else. Also the wifi situation needs to be improved but honestly Im only saying any of this because its almost 11 at night and i just got a hot latte so its because i truly love you. also it would be fan-freaking-tastic if there was another location maybe a lot closer to the campus. or just on campus. That would be a true blessing from god. And your business would only improve like 40000% because college is hard and who needs sleep anyways.

Could be an amazing place. I was told by owner that I could not have my dogs on patio. Salt Lake County made it legal 2 years ago. So I chose to stand outside the patio. While the owner was unloading in rear parking lot, he started arguing with me again about my dogs that were not on his property. He continued to raise his voice at me. He even took a pic of my vehicle as I left and called me a racist. Its easy to call white people that. I cre not what race he is just that he would not allow my dogs to be outside with me. Coffee was middle of road anyways. The Batista who helped me did a great job. Watch out for hot headed owner.

Terrible customer service there. A girl named Brittany was working and she made my drink wrong, when I politely told her I wanted my drink iced, she yelled at me and my friend in front of customers that she wasnt going to give us an iced coffee, she told us "argue all you want but if you want an iced drink you can buy another one". Then we asked if we could have the food we ordered and she told us "shell get to it when she gets to it" we waited over 10 minutes for a piece of cake that was sitting in a display case. The worst customer service Ive ever had. I was appalled. I will never go here again.

The baklava in this place is amazing! I really hope they make it themselves and dont just get it at Costco. The coffee is great, and the baristas are always extremely friendly. But it seems like nobody that works here sticks around for more than a year. The internet is usually good, even when its crowded. Its an awesome place to go late at night, because theyre always open and busy until 2 am every night. Theres usually a long line, but theyre super fast. The smoking patio is nice, and right on 400 N. And inside doesnt smell like smoke for some reason. Maybe they have awesome ventilation.

Good atmosphere, open late, reasonable prices, free wifi, friendly staff. Its a great place to get some work done, or for a late night hangout spot (open after the bars close!). Great working space and patio out front, couches for socializing in the back. It has the mullet of coffee shop layouts (business up front, fun in the back). five stars for: atmosphere, work space, hours four stars for: Good coffee, menu selection -amount of pastries. however, no satisfying eggy breakfast offerings. two-three stars for: inadequate cream/cheese to bagel ratio

Was there with my friends as usual and then i went to get a cigarrette, then i go back inside and one of the employees bring a plate to my table, my friends thought i ordered it but i thought they did so i took a piece of it then the owner started screaming to me to leave and never go back there because i eat part of it and it wasnt mine! Excuse me? Your employee left it in my table what am i expected to do? If i didnt know whats going on? That owner its super wrong and disrespectful

I use to love coming to Break, although, a lot of people changed in the place and it ended up being somewhere where we didnt want to hang out. The Bob Marley is still something I get there every time and no one can recreate that. Its in a great location being right downtown, and open very very late is a plus. If you can ignore the crowd that hangs out in the smoking area outside and find a drink you like there its not a bad place to hang out at 1am.

Terrible service. I came in for lunch and was one of only 4/5 people in the place, but the Barista acted like I was keeping her from something, acted very irritated about everything I asked, including my request to add a drink to my sandwich order. As soon as she flipped the grill on she went back to leaning against the wall and drinking her Diet Coke. If one of my employees treated a customer this way it would be their last day.

Location is run down and full of outdated decor and local paintings (which can be a nice touch). Parking is terrible, food is all bought from Costco, coffee is cheap and often left out for hours, baristas are undertrained and have no idea how to prepare a proper espresso shot, and the place turns into an underage dance club for scene kids after 8pm. I would rather get my coffee from McDonalds than suffer this place.

We were there on a early Saturday morning; the one and only one lady serving behind the coffee bar was friendly enough, however, the "house special brew" was lukewarm and weak. The other customer looks pretty much like a homeless person. The sofas are looking drab and unwashed. We were not impressed; probably wont return for a long time to come.

Nice staff and lots of seating options when you want privacy. I wouldnt recommend going here for lunch, but if you just want a snack with your drink they do a good job on that front. I wish they didnt require a key to use the bathroom, but I understand that they do have the occasional issue with homeless/junkie folks due to the location.

Ive been going here for years and I dont understand why the bathroom is so filthy. at least let clean men use the private womens restroom or hire a janitor once a week. isnt there a health department that inspects bathrooms in Utah? just wondering. please consider that coffee is a diuretic and men go number two also... hahaha

SL Coffee Break as a one-stop shop for cigarettes, snacks, and drinks, is low key and has a great patio. The bathroom is consistently next-level filthy and the manager here is irritable & unprofessional. Pros , diverse spending options, great location, spacious smoking area with seating. Cons, get your $h*t together.

The place doesnt have very good coffee or menu items. Most of the menu items are things you can buy at the store. It can also get quite loud if that bothers you. That being said the staff are nice, the place is open late, and the wifi is fast enough to get proper work done. I come here a lot for those reasons alone.

I usually love coming here but you guys hired a guy with long black hair, not sure of his name but Ive never been so unhappy here. Waited over an hr for a humus plate, got the worst customer service from him all the while I was being respectful & patient. Please get rid of this guy if you want to keep your customers.
