The Republican is truly the best place to have a drink in Salt Lake City! Its the first bar I payed a visit to after moving to Salt Lake 5 years ago and immediately stopped looking for "that" bar. It feels like home, and the staff are like family! The Pub, as it is affectionately called by its regulars, is such a great establishment. Whether you are looking to have a beer, a whiskey, or a fancy cocktail while sitting and chatting with friends, shooting a game of darts or pool, or playing shuffleboard, this is the place to find all of these things! The conversations you will have in this place are limitless along with good times to be had. Once you visit the pub your search for the right bar will end. The staff is incredible, the atmosphere is wonderful, and you will always leave happy!

Just got treated very, very poorly by a blond bartender with a man-bun. He ignored us, and served customers drinks who came after us, mumbling answers to questions about whiskey and beer like it was a great inconvenience to him. Finally, we realized he might be homophobic as he cut us off mid sentence and ran towards the bar as two guys walked in...and literally waited there for 2 minutes as they walked up to the bar....he still had his back to us as we walked out the door. So, Mr. homophobic bartender guy ...we both like chicks, we both like beer, not really worth getting your man-bun all twisted up in a knot over, get over yourself.

I like this bar, I hate the bar tender named Ross. He removed us forcefully and disrespectfully, after asking us to clean up the frankly pitiful and inadequate chalk they have for their dart boards. I hate that the bar I local fequent for the last 10 years is employing a rude and cocaine riddled bar tender. This is NOT the first time he has accused us of something we did not do. He ego is astounding. I will not be back as long as he is there.

The only true Irish bar in Salt Lake City. This is the place to go to relax, have a pint, and watch a football match. There are plenty of friendly regulars to talk away the night with, and the staff is always friendly and respectful. If you are tired of bars filled with drunken louts and sound systems blasting out top 40, then this is the best place in the valley to go to get away from all that and have a drink with good, quality people.

Rude employees. Expensive drinks. Bad atmosphere. Over all group of knob heads and wanna bes. Dont go there. There are better places. Going here will not make you more Irish. It will make you frustrated with the lack of seating, the lack of friendly staff members, the lack of affordable drinks, the lack of places to smoke and the lack of authenticity or originality that makes a place unique and worth coming back to.

The only real Irish pub in salt lake city. If you like cider or Irish whiskey, or just good company, this is a great spot. Football is featured on the TV. If you like games, theres darts, pool, and shuffleboard. Just book early for St patricks, because its a party for regulars and real Irish, including one regular with a tattoo of a harp on his neck. A bar that I always leave wondering, why dont I come here more often?

Great, friendly bartenders. Long, dark wood bar (longest in the state, Im told), dart board, soccer, poetry readings . . . Sometimes I think they ought to un-brick the west side and let a little light in, but, I guess it would change the clientele who loves dark, brooding bars with a picture of James Joyce up high, blinking out of his little round glasses.

First time to this establishment. From the outside I was not sure what to expect. Its much larger than I expected. There is pool and shuffleboard. The outside space is small but I dont really spend time outside. It wasnt very busy but the staff and patrons were nice. I enjoyed my time and I would visit again.

A regular Hang out for our Barbers and Tattooist to take a load off. Great Low key pub, Amazing place to use for Parties. Friendly Bartenders... Sundays evenings for one of the greatest local band... Great place for Jameson sour, Black and Tan... I could go on but I give it all away... Visit The Republican today.

very rude bartender. Wanted to know if I really wanted him to serve me more since I havent tipped him yet. Tipping depends on service, so far the service hadnt been good. Told my friends who were going to meet us there, to meet us elsewhere. He lost a lot of good money because he was demanding.

You could easily drive by this bar on State street and not even notice it but once you get in side it feels homey and inviting. They have real style dart boards, shuffle board and pool. It can get a little warm inside in the summer but that doesnt draw away from the atmosphere.

Great pub! Super nice people! Drink prices so cheap, my friend thought they didnt charge him for a few rounds. I dont know what Salem57 is talking about. Except that they do need some better seating.

Amazing and authentic Irish pub. Great place to catch a match or chill with friends. Bar staff is top notch and the pool table is well maintained, also one of the few places with legit shuffleboard.

Only true Football pub in Salt Lake City! Dont go there expecting to watch American Football. Strongbow Cider along with other ciders are served at this pub. Great place to watch a match.

Great dive bar. Top Shelf whiskey, for a low price. Awesome venue. Just wish they had better hours. Early morning to catch live games would be great.
