Well, I was excited to try a new bar with a wide selection of craft beer. These type of bars do not come around so often in Utah. Although I was pleased with the wide selection of beers, I was very disappointed with the customer service my friend and I received from our bartender Soupy. Now, normally when I go to a craft beer bar, and I ask for the recommendation of the bartender, they are excited to discuss beer with me, and what I should try. I asked Soupy what he recommended I get, that was difficult to obtain in Utah, as an IPA lover. He brought out 2Rows Random IPA, which no insult to them, I had already tried since it is available at the state liquor store. When I told him I had already tried that, he proceeded to tell me he did not have time to go over every beer at the bar. While I understand that, his response came across as rude and very condescending. I would have understood such response if I had told him I had a already tried several beers he had already brought out, that was not the case. Long story short, I then asked for a beer I found on the menu and he said he thought it might be too strong for me as an TIPA. I know beer and I know what I like, I just wanted your recommendation. As much as I wanted to stay and try other beers, I had a difficult time listening to the interactions he was having with other customers. I appreciate good customer service, and I tip well. I did not leave a tip for Soupy, as I was disappointed with his interactions with me.

Ive always enjoyed the comfort and ease of this local pub. Beehive advertises perhaps the largest selection of local craft brew among an incredible array of beer in generalx perhaps the best in state. The long bar runa the length of this eatablishment. Featuring a strip of chilled ice its entire length, a nice accommodation to keep beverases cold and--a great place to let opened bottles and glasses take on an ambience of spirit in easy reach. Impressive! This is a great place in what I call a "mid bar". Where one makes a point to stop for at least one drink when exploring the downtown--or on the way home from a bike ride. The location is ideal, with a reasonable outdoor section to feel the buzz of the city and lights. Location location location as they say! Its owner is a renowned encyclopedia of beer craft knowdge. One part of the historical memory of Utahs quite significant Contributon to the beer craft industry prior prohibition. As of recent, many names have been added to the mix of reaetablishijg rhe craft as world class in both brewing and technique. Youre fortunate to catch a rerun on the subject of Utahs beer history despite the nominal suffocation of LDScorps persistent political dominance seeking to dictate the downtown. Another subject, folks.

5 stars for the beer. 1 star for the food. Pros: Huge selection of bottled craft beer. Also, beers average 5 dollars per bottle, and draft beer is only 4. I live and work in NY, and similar NY based pubs cost on average 7-8 dollars for the same drink. Cons: The food was TERRIBLE. My friend and I ordered supreme nachos, and I ordered the black and blue burger. The ground beef on the nachos were incredibly dry and not appetizing. The dish was also missing refried beans, and there was not enough sour cream. As for the burger, it was perhaps the worst burger Ive had in recent memory. While I ordered medium rare, the burger arrived well done, dry, and was smaller than Id hoped. Lastly, the fries were bland. What makes this burger even less satisfying was that the dish was 13 dollars. Ive never had such an unappetizing meal at such a price.. In closing, go for the beer and ignore the food. This pub would be wise to focus more on the alcohol, and cut down its food menu to only include dishes it does well, if there are any.

Worst service ever. After fighting for a seat, the server Michelle decided that my party of 5 was not worth her time. Finally after trying to wave Michelle down for a menu, she only delivered drinks 1 at a time spacing them out. This caused a problem in the group as we came together and wanted to leave together. After half the drinks were served in an hour, the other 2 members of the party went to the bar to order. Michelle saw this and quickly brought over the other 2 drinks from behind the counter. We believe that she had the drinks the whole time and was passing them out as she felt fit to. As you can tell, this caused the 2 members now to have 2 drinks. This was not going to fly for them and they refused to pay for the 2nd drink after they had to go get it themselves. They also had to go complain to the manager onsite to remove the second drinks. If you are looking to get a drink and relax at a pub. I would not recommend this place as the whole experience left a bad impression on my group.

This was the worst experience of my life. They for got one of our friends food, we asked for a glass of water, 20 min later we had to go up to the bar and ask for it again she gave us tap water with no Ice. When we got done paying the waitress stated she forgot to add gratuity we explained there was not enough people to have that added and we will tip her based on the way we were served, the waitress then turned around and stated if we cant afford to tip then we shouldnt be eating out. The manager himself stated that when the waitress see people like us she needs to make sure she gets credit cards from everyone. When I asked him what he meant by people like us he looked me up and down and said "you know what I mean" I am an African American women. I would never refer this place to anyone the service is horrible. You would think a manager would make things right, and he was worse.

Came to SLC for a week of work. Came into the place my first night after reading the mixed reviews. I give three stars for the selection of beers not for the service or food. The bar does have a unique feature of a chilling plate to keep glasses chilled while at the bar. Plus the number or large screens with sports does a reason to return, just not for the food. I had the black and blue burger. Ordered a medium rare... got well well done. I can say the "moo" was cooked out of the meat. As other reviewers noted the high price tag for the burger would lead a person to believe your going to get something much different than what is served. I was not impressed nor would I purchase the food here again.

So....three stars...I own a business myself and hate to give bad reviews but also like to be honest. First off, if you are coming for a wide beer selection, youll get it. Anything else, forget about it. The burger was mediocre at best...must be why I dont see a lot of people eating. I am about to leave a bad tip...a burger and two beers...had to flag down the chatty bartender every time....beer menu...food menu...first beer...sandwich...second beer...all after waiting for several (ten after I had closed the food menu) I might as well not exist...looking like Ill have to flag her down to get the check. :P And now I did flag her down...$33. Two beers and a burger. Go elsewhere...I will next time.
