This place has really good food for great prices, and theres nothing to complain about unless youre expecting table service. Ever get annoyed with waitstaff constantly hovering around your table and doing the mandatory "check-in" and interrupting conversation? This is the place for you. To the negative reviewers: Anyone whos ever worked in a restaurant will understand why this place is the way it is- priorities. The staff is busy cooking awesome food and cleaning dishes, so they arent going to hold your hand. Heres how it works: Order your food, grab your complimentary water, and grab your food when they call your name. Claim a table, stuff face, and put the dishes on the dish return tables when youre done. Treat the place like its your home and everyone will have a good time. Onto the food! The sushi rolls here arent the best- definitely go to a dedicated sushi restaurant if you want the most bang for your buck. The sashimi bento box was good though, nice sized pieces of fish with good texture. The real stars of the show here are the Udon, ramen, rice bowls (don), curry, and croquettes. Through personal experience, this is about as close to Japans authentic cheap eats as you can get without making it yourself, going somewhere expensive, or leaving Utah. My favorite thing here is the curry udon. If you find yourself staring up at this huge menu and getting the panic sweats, try that and branch out from there. If you dont want noodles, maybe the Gyuu Don will be up your alley. Theyve got the typical soda machine and a cooler stocked with some fairly common bottled/canned asian drinks if youre looking to try something different. Water is self service and there are a few water coolers throughout the restaurant. The building itself isnt anything fancy, but the prices reflect that. Overall if you arent high maintenance this place is awesome for a quick inexpensive meal.

I love Kokos Kitchen! Ive been here so many times for over 5 years, I feel ashamed for not reviewing it sooner. Kokos has a kitchen in the front which may be overdue for a remodel but it works and I like the decorations. I really enjoy sitting in the sushi bar out back. Parking is a hassle, especially when theyre busy. They are closed Sundays and are closed between lunch and dinner during the week which is a bit of a bummer, so plan accordingly. The staff has always been friendly and has welcomed me during most of my visits. They are consistent when it comes to my food orders, delivering a perfect plate each time. Try a Teriyaki Chicken Plate or their Ramen. Its fulfilling and delicious at a nice price. Ive had friends from out of town visit and weve eaten various things from their big menu, they loved it. Enjoy!

If youre looking for authentic Japanese cuisine for an affordable price, you have found the right place. This little hole-in-the-wall restaurant may look unassuming, but packs a wallop of a menu filled with flavor and great deals. Order at the counter for pickup or bring your tray to the beautiful, cozy backroom dining area for a friendly and thoroughly enjoyable experience. The amazing food, coupled with imported Japanese beverages and soft drinks, makes this restaurant as close as you can get to dining in Japan itself. To round it all out, the employees are friendly and eager to get their food to you. An absolute pleasure to have dinner here. Be aware that when we dined here, there were no children and quite a few couples. It is a small restaurant, so bringing young, noisy children is probably not the best idea.

This is my favorite place to eat in Utah. I had a friend who was born and raised in Japan that moved to the states for a few years, and I always tried to find a place that had authentic Japanese food like she would make, and Koko Kitchen is absolutely that place. They have a huge menu that serves anything from amazing sushi, incredible ramen, bentos, and lesser known delicious Japanese dishes. I originally came here for their Gyudon and miso ramen which is superb, but Ive since tried everything on their menu and have never been disappointed. They even have a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes. They also serve a few Japanese beers and other beers, as well as some exotic soft drinks and teas. Please do yourself a favor and try this place if you havent!

horrible service, my friend ordered korean style ribs and they gave her a bunch of fat with hardly any meat, she tried returning the food and they said "we dont send food back to the kitchen" how dumb is that? Gordon Ramsay would impale all of those dudes working there, then she tried getting a refund and they said "no refunds". I ordered gyoza, miso soup and chicken tereyaki. the gyoza tasted old and moldy, the miso soup lacked flavor but looked promising, the chicken was just ok. Dont waste you money going to this place. The place looks cool but the food is hardly "FOOD". After the really bad experience we left the food there and left because we couldnt do anything about it.

Extremely hot, like there is no A/C inside there. The lady at the front had no smiles, no welcoming manners at all, talking so fast even when there was no other customers besides us. We ordered ramen noodles and bento box. The roast pork on the noodle was all burned (I have proof photos), even the teriyaki chicken in the bento, which was the main food in the bento was burned. They were seriously all right about serving burnt food. Not even close to a Japanese food. Self-service water from the big orange picnic pitcher and dirty tables and sticky seat in the hot restaurant were already making us lose appetite, the food was very disappointing.

The food was decent, not the best I have tried, not the worst. I would considered going again if it wasnt because of the atmosphere, the restaurant seems to be lacking enough space and organization to make it comfortable. With just a few people it is basically impossible to walk in their front desk where you order your food, and picking it up can be an ordeal depending on how many people are waiting to order. The cooks and cashier were friendly enough to make the visit somewhat worth, but theres still a lot of space for improvements.

Horrifying experience last time I ate there! I had Food on the table and left to go to the bathroom when I came back it was cleared away. The stranger sitting at my table said someone cleared my food. Talked to the owner lady and she told me it was my fault because I didnt take my food over to the bathroom. And there was nothing she could do. She told me to seek out a customer and confront them about it. And have them buy me food. She didnt want to make me food again. She was very very rude.

Authentic Japanese food out in the middle of the desert (UT). Definitely not the best that Ive had, but thats when I compare it to places closer to the ocean. Prices are slightly high for eating out, but not bad unless you go overboard with the sushi, but its really no more expensive than anywhere else in SLC. They arent just a Sushi joint like a lot of other places, they have a wide variety of udon, gyoza, and a bunch of other things I cant remember the name of.

Great food, super wide selection of multiple authentic Japanese dishes. Had some very rude people that treated staff poorly and they went tried hard to make the customer happy dispite their poor attitude. The Ramen is authentic, and the meats are very well prepared. Havent heard much about the sushi but have a had coworkers say nothing but good. For how much food you get the prices are fantastic. They serve a couple decent beers.
