I love to find little local places that I havent tried. So when I was in the area I decided to drive around Ivy Place and see what there was. Karroo is interesting. It feels like stepping back in time to the 80s or early 90s. The decor is dated, but clean. Think 80s pastels and flower arrangements. Also they play some 80s soft rock channel on their radio. The food was just okay. I cant see what people were giving 5 stars for. Its a fine little place. The sandwich is good but not great. Pretty basic. The meat reminded me of Carl Buddig stuff. The bread was a little too soft and I wished theyd had an option for a sub style roll. Friendly and quick and a good value. But I dont see myself rushing back unless I was just craving the kind of sandwich a suburban soccer mom from the 80s would make on a Saturday afternoon.

I love the sandwiches here, it seems rare to find a sandwich shop anywhere. The service is good, the prices arent bad, the decor is nice, and the soup is good as well. My only issues are maybe the bread is sliced too thick and they put too many potato chips in the box, but if you want a good soup and sandwich without having to make one yourself, these guys are perfect.

This sandwich shop feel like coming home. I have been a regular customer for years and the owners are wonderful. The quality is great, good prices and generous portions. It is my go-to-place for lunch when I am in the neighborhood.

A good little sandwich shop. A nice quiet place to have lunch. The salads look good but, I havent tried one yet. Its worth noting that the bread they use for their sandwiches is always really fresh, and delicious.
